Pendre Uchaf Reviews

Phillip
We enjoyed our stay. Beautiful spot with great views on a working farm. Hosts were attentive even though they were in the middle of lambing season. Would definitely like to go back for a further holiday. Lots to see and do in the local area.
Michelle
Cottage was lovely. Hosts very helpful. Cant wait to return.

Just got home after spending xmas week in this property. It's in a beautiful location on an upland farm with gorgeous views across the valley. We were quite humbled at the efforts that the owners Arwel & Meryl had gone to to make the place welcoming. On arrival we found a xmas tree and decorations up, woodburner already lit with plentiful log supply and a nice cosy warmth and even some homemade mince pies waiting. We split our time between chilling in the cottage and exploring the local area Langollen, Chirk Castle, Rhug Estate Farm Shop, a bracing walk at Llyn Brenig. The main living area is really great, bedrooms are very comfortable and the bathroom does what it needs to. I think they've used the space creatively and they are lovely people. We had a very relaxing week and will definitely be coming back again

Wow, we arrived to find luxury goodies, a burning log fire in a very clean comfortable cottage. The owners, Mr & Mrs Evans are the friendliest, thoughtful hosts. A lovely, cosy, warm cottage with everything we needed to make it a special family break. The place was very clean and had all modern amenities, with well stocked cupboards. Plenty of parking space & outdoor seating, a few steps up to a good sized walled garden and edged by farmland. Our one year old grandson and small dogs loved it. There was something for everyone. The cottage is ideally located for a quiet, peaceful break and just a 15 minute drive to Ruthin town which has several modern shops Tesco, B&M, Aldi but also, picturesque middle age buildings, a castle, markets and cute independent cafes & vintage shops. Ruthin is definitely worth visiting. The emphasis is on a clean, warm, cosy & comfortable cottage with thoughtful, kind owners. We will definitely be returning. Thank you so much.
Wonderful cottage immaculately clean and equipped with everything you could possibly need. Fabulous views with spacious parking in front of the property. The owners really friendly and helpful without being too obtrusive. Highly recommended for exploring this beautiful part of North Wales. Im sure we will plan a return visit in the near future.

Our stay at this cottage was amazing, the cottage is definitely a 5 in every aspect. As are the owners, we had a small issue with the kettle and within 20 minutes of mentioning it, a new kettle was brought to us, fabulous service, wonderful people. Any questions asked about the surrounding areas, where to go and what to see and we were freely given advice and information. A definite FIVE STAR for both property and owners. Sandra Pike.
A beautiful house with beautiful views! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Pendre Uchaf and our daughter loved watching the sheep every day from the drive. Such lovely, homely touches and very accommodating hosts. We felt very comfortable from the beginning and we hope to be back in the future. From one farmers wife to another. Thank you Meryl.
Christine
Really enjoyed our stay, hosts go the extra mile to ensure the comfort of their guests.
This was a great find. The location was stunning, the property is rural and peaceful amidst rolling hills and a nearby forest useful for dog walks. That being said, it's handily near a local farm shop and other useful amenities all within 1015 mins drive. The cottage is well equipped for cooking and cleaning etc. The wood burner is cosy and the property modern and comfortable. We had a 2 year old and dog with us and it was really suitable and equipped for both as well. The owners provided a lovely welcome gift which we really enjoyed given we arrived on a super wet and rainy day! We definitely would come back, we loved the privacy away from other tourists.
Roland

Thank you so much for a wonderful stay before our wedding in Beddgelert. The homemade cake, super comfortable beds and overall gorgeous property made it the perfect place to calm our prewedding nerves! A special place that we have fantastic memories from.

We loved our weekend away. The property is gorgeous and the views are stunning. Everything you need in the kitchen as well as cake, milk, cheese and eggs left as a welcome pack. Comfy beds, recliner sofas, bbq outside. The sun even stayed for the full weekend too. Highly recommend staying here. Communication was excellent and directions spot on.
This cottage was a real joy. The owners were very welcoming, made sure we were okay and asked if there was anything else we required. They provided a welcome package which included the essentials, cakes etc and even fresh flowers! The cottage was comfortable, very clean and fully equipped. There were toiletries provided in case you forgot your own and the hot water and fluffy towels were a delight. Our dog loved the enclosed gardendriveway and keeping an eye on the lambs in the field behind. The peace and quiet was what we were after and to top it all we had brilliant weather all week. It was a little chilly at night but there was a log burner that provided extra heat and plenty of logs were supplied. Although the cottage was in the countryside off a main road you were within easy driving distance to Llangollen, Betwsycoed, Bala, Portmeirion, Snowdon and Zip World. We would definitely book this property again!
Just couldnt ask for more. Perfect. Spotless clean cottage. Lovely welcome selection including a fantastic home made Victoria sponge cake.
Our stay at the cottage was absolutely fantastic! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and charm. The cottage itself was beautifully maintained cozy, spotless, and full of character. Every little detail had been thought of, making it feel like a true home away from home. The peaceful surroundings and breathtaking views made it the perfect escape. We left feeling relaxed, refreshed, and already planning our next visit. Highly recommend!

Lovely holiday cottage, clean, well maintained with every attention to detail. Views from cottage were spectacular. Meryl and Arwel were very good, friendly hosts. Meryl was kind enough to allow my wife to feed two lambs, which as an animal lover this really made her holiday. Hope to visit again as such a lovely cottage in a beautiful location.

Fabulous weekend at this cottage. Very well equipped. We stayed Feb 24. The cottage was homely and warm with lovely views and beautiful walks in the area. Would highly recommend.
Absolutely stunning property, fully equipped, warm and welcoming. The owners were incredible we arrived a little later than expected and they had put the fire on to warm the house. There were several fantastic extra touches for over the weekend. They were absolutely lovely and couldn't do more to help. The house itself was impeccable, just like the surrounding area. We went exploring around the local area and we weren't disappointed!!

We had our first family holiday here with our son and dogs and it was wonderful. The cottage is in a beautiful setting, it is quiet surrounded by fields and wildlife. It is close enough to things to do and places to walk without being too close. The cottage itself is definitely one of the best and well stocked we have been to. It is like being at home. The rooms are lovely and the living room is spacious yet cosy. The owners are attentive without being intrusive, they checked on us a few times to make sure we had everything we needed and were absolutely lovely. We will definitely be back!
Gareth
Wonderful cottage in the most stunning of locations. Loveliest hosts and most amazing welcome and welcome pack. So very perfect, we have already rebooked for next year
Arwel and Meryl were fantastic hosts. The cottage was amazing and beautifully furnished and fully equipped. The only thing we needed was food. Tea, coffee and sugar were provided and there were lots of cleaning products, cloths and binbags. Upon arrival we discovered a beautiful cake and a hamper containing milk, eggs, yogurt and cheese. It really is the thoughtful little touches that make this place amazing. This was our first family holiday together for myself and my partner and his 2 children and my child. We all had an amazing time and wished we could have stayed longer. The children loved their visit to the farm meeting all the animals. We will definitely book again. Lots of lovely lasting memories for us were created in this fabulous cottage. Words are not enough to express how marvellous it is. I will miss the stunning views and drinking a coffee outside whilst looking over the fields. Meryl gave us a tour of the farm and the animals whilst Arwel and my little one loved to have football chats, especially since she is an Everton fan and Arwel a Liverpool fan, she especially loved showing off her tattoo. Thank you for everything.
Ooooooh you are in for a treat. We had a wonderful time at Pendre Uchaf. The Cottage is extremely comfortable and had everything you could possibly need and more. The welcome gifts were the best we have ever received in the many years of using Sykes. The owners are a delight and very attentive and helpful. If you love animals then you will be in Heaven. We enjoyed many cuddles with the pups and loved to see the calves and goats. Thank you for such a wonderful holiday x

The best Sykes property we have stayed in. Owners so helpful and available. Views amazing. A little isolated but worth the drive. 10 out of10.
This was the perfect place to go and unwind with loved ones. The views and the fresh air were just what all the family needed. We went exploring each day but looked forward to coming home to what felt like our home. The owners checked in with us regularly and shared great recommendations for our adventures. Would definitely look at staying here again.
We would like to thank the owners for the warm and friendly welcome and making our stay so very pleasant.
