Bowland Barn Reviews

Suzanne
Wonderful stay , breathtaking views , kitchen well stocked and arrival gifts! Was March radiator heating didnt come on but we had some underfloor heating and a log burner. Cold at times ! Lights around hot tub not working but didnt spoil our stay and would be happy to recommend. Clean ! Nice comfy beds ! Great games room
Fabulous place to stay with a large group. Massive communal areas for eating, playing board games, relaxing etc. Hot tub was a real treat. Thank you.
Just back from 4 nights at this fabulous property. Everything was spot on. Comfy beds thick towels a well stocked kitchen and a cosy wood burner. The hosts Phil and Clare were so easygoing and friendly. Already tried to book again for April and its booked up. Highly recommend for a fun family get together. Our grandsons especially enjoyed the pool table and hot tub with stunning vies.
It was brilliant, the house got extremely warm via the log burner and the owners are present however completely let you get on with everything and you wouldnt even realise theyre there, we had a 40th birthday celebration with ten people there and every single of us couldnt speak higher on this house, 100 recommend to stay and we will go again.
Delightful setting with amazing views. The property is extremely well equipped for any large group. Ideal for family groups as all ages catered for with games and play spaces. Friendly and helpful owners.

A fantastic stay and thank you so much for your hospitality. A beautiful barn conversion with everything we could have hoped for. Comfortable and clean and very well equipped. The younger ones really liked the games both indoors and out, and seeing the animals. The adults loved the hot tub, views and BBQ area. A great place to celebrate with extended family. We hope to return!
Great place to stay, perfect for a lovely chilled out week with great access to Lancaster, Blackpool for days out, cottsge was amazing, beds comfy, pool table was amazing for the kids and kitchen was stunning, Phil and Claire were great hosts, along with the pets ! ! Will definitely be back !
Christine
We all thought this was a wonderful place for a family get together. It was very spacious and groups or individuals could enjoy the hot tub, the poolair hockey table, a game peaceful or raucous or a quiet chat without feeling crowded. The kitchen was spacious and well equipped for the 'cook'. The house was warm but we lit the log fire as it looked so lovely. The bedrooms are away from the hub of the house and are very peaceful and very comfortable even when younger party members are being loud! We loved it and had an amazing time. must have been good as we didn't notice the weather!

We stayed at Bowland barn for my 50th birthday. The pictures didn't do it justice it was so nice inside and there was plenty of room as there was 10 of us. The wood fire was amazing and kept us all warm. The hot tup was hot and ready to get in on arrival. The owner Phil who owned the farm allowed my grandson to walk a pony which he is still talking about 5 days later. Phil always made sure we had plenty of Wood and he was so lovely. We will be definitely going back there in the future.
Michelle

A fantastic house for a family holiday with plenty to keep everyone happy. Hot tub was fabulous and our teenage boys enjoyed the Astro turf and goal. The kitchen had lovely big pots that made catering for the whole family easy especially as there were two super efficient ovens. The bedrooms were very spacious with the majority ensuite. Owner, Phil was approachable, friendly and kind. An excellent place for family fun.
Property was lovely WiFi cut off every night at 9
A beautiful property in a great location for exploring and visiting Lancaster. Could not recommend more. Facilities were great and we had everything we needed for our stay. Couldnt fault it in any way. Thanks to you both for making us feel welcome and we hope your lintel hasnt fallen out yet!
Lovely well equipped property. Owners met and showed us how to work kitchen equipment etc. The hot tub and games table a lovely addition. Not very child friendly, the enclosed area was not well enclosed the gate did not lock the wall slabs needed fixing so quite dangerous. The other outside area is quite open. Inside the owners had put on the fire and a child burnt their hand on top of it, could have done with a fire guard. The gap in the bottom of the balcony railing is too big for small children, risk of falling through, there were areas that I dont think would comply with building regs. The steps from the small seating area into the kitchen are not wide enough and 3 of our sober party had accidents falling down these. The first step on the staircase is too high we had a few trips on that. The property is clean but would benefit from a deep clean our ensuite smelt of urine and the stone flooring needs a scrub.

This worked really well for our large family who came from different areas, what a beautiful location Phil's local knowledge was extremely helpful in finding hidden gems especially for cycling! There for a week and so much more to see, hopefully we'll return.
Great property for all ages. Great design and layout. Owners could not do enough for us. Would highly recommend to anyone.
Louise
We stayed here in February and although the house looked initially beautiful, it didn't really suit a mixed family. The pool table is on a landing in the middle of all the bedrooms so extremely noisy when we had people retiring to bed early. Also it was on a balcony and there were too occasions where the ball rolled off and down to people sitting in the living room nearly missing a serious accident. The pool table collapsed twice it was only balanced on ledges not fixed properly. Also we could not drink the water at all, the kettle inside was black and badly needed descaling and the water tasted really odd. Every single one of us finished up with an really bad stomach which lasted a minimum of a week, including a pregnant member of our party and a baby, the baby had to see a doctor twice after our visit. On the plus side the beds were extremely comfy and the bathroom facilities were amazing.
Lovely considerate owners. Beautiful barn, extremely comfortable beds, lots of hot water and spotlessly clean. Hot tub and pool table a lovely bonus. 13 of us and 2 dogs had a fabulous time making memories.
Amazing property. Perfect for my family of 12 adults to celebrate Christmas together. Games room, kitchen with everything you could need, lovely log burner, football goals comfortable furniture and plenty of room. Thanks so much. Loved meeting the horses too.
Sheila
We had a great weekend with family at this wonderful property
Patricia
Hosts allowed us to go in early which was appreciated. Barn was fantastic, as large family , plenty of large bedrooms and showers and baths. The beds are so so comfortable. Lovely fluffy quilts and bedding. Not slept like that for so long, and with it being so dark and quiet was so relaxing. Showers powerful and lots of hot water , lovely soak in bath. Plenty of games. Games table. Cooking utensils etc. . Barn very remote but in perfect location to travel to so many places like the lakes Blackpool. Etc. All only being at the most around hour away. Williamson park is a must. Phil was so helpful and around somewhere if needed him. It was so nice to cosy up with the wood burner when we returned home after our adventures everyday. We had Halloween party For the children whilst we were there and all had great time. It was funny watching the chickens strutting by tantalising the dogs. The only thing I would say is watch the cooker hood extractor as we all banged head on this during week We will definitely be returning again.
We loved Bowland Barn, where we celebrated our son's 40th Birthday. A mixture of toddlers adolescents and adults were all kept entertained by everything the the barn had to offer. Our hosts were amazing and the kids loved the opportunity to see the horses and chickens. Plenty to see and do in the surrounding area too! Thanks for everything.
Absolutely loved it all of us couldnt recommend this place more. So peaceful, amazing views, the whole barn is beautiful with great facilities. Hot tub, bbq and pool table went down a treat! will definitely be going back for longer next time. Owners are lovely too! Thankyou so much for the loveliest weekend.
Deborah
Hosts are very welcoming . Lovely welcoming pack of wine , biscuits, milk and dog treats . Good quality appliances, crockery and utensils. Comfortable beds . The Property as add Luxuries to make your holiday perfect..
Yvonne
Not enough outside space pictures misleading
As only there Friday to Sunday the check in and check out times have a major effect on the stay. Check in from 4pm and check out at 10am pretty much means its one day on the saturday. A change in these times would make a huge difference in the stay, to make it a longer stay for more of the weekend. However it was a lovely weekend, the owners were lovely and friendly. The house was well equipment and it was a very comfortable stay. Would rebook the property.
George
Great property and ideal for a family gathering or large group of friends. Well kitted out kitchen and ensuite bedrooms. EV charging an added bonus. Phil and Claire are on hand to keep you right. Loved our short stay.
Cristy
An absolutely beautiful barn within the perfect setting. Myself and friends from work group of nurses had the best weekend here. The hosts were perfect, nothing was too much trouble. The beds were amazing and comfy, kitchen to dream of with everything you could want and so much space. We will all definitely be back. Thank you so much for an amazing weekend.
Lovely place in a delightful setting. Plenty of room for a large group there were 12 of us and lots of pots pans and crockery in the kitchen. Large fridge freezer helped as well. Owner has very friendly in laws who looked after us very well. Note that there are lots of steps and stairs. Fine for all of us but definitely not for those with mobility issues.
Fantastic place to stay . We were a party of 11 adults and 2 children , we stayed 4 nights but weren't ready to come home Accommodation has so much space .Highly recommend
Just back from a great long weekend at the stunning Bowland Barn to celebrate my 40th birthday and it was the perfect place to spend time with all the family 8 adults and 4 children. The house is perfect for entertaining and surpassed my already high expectations! It is grand, rustic and cozy all at once! The views and surrounding scenery are beautiful and theres plenty to see and do nearby. I definitely hope to return in the future.
Our stay was great fantastic place had everything required. Only criticism was under floor heating set to 18 and locked which made house cool. We mentioned to owner who stated it warmed up with fire on! Showers amazing. Hot tub bit off putting with slightly brown water.
Joanne
Brilliant stay at Bowland Barn. Great space, facilities and views. Hosts were on site to help with any queries. We would definitely return.
Absolutely beautiful place, everything it said and more. We had a fabulous weekend in this fantastic accommodation. A great start to our festive season.
Amazing 2 night family weekend at Bowland barn. We stayed as a party of 12 and 2 Dogs. The property was amazing and the barn supplied everything you could need. The whole property was spotless and the beds were very comfortable. The layout of the barn gives you great social spaces but with plenty of space for everyone so never felt crowded. The hot tub, games table and sports pitch were all an added bonus. Lovely owners who left us to it but we're always on hand if we needed anything. Can't wait to stay again and would highly recommend.
The property was stunning, really spacious with plenty of facilities and activities. The hot tub, out door area, small football pitch and pool table were great especially with the rainy weather. The hot tub could have done with more maintenance but we didnt make the owners aware of any issues.
Andrew
A great barn wonderfully restored. Very comfortable and spacious. The owners Clare and Phil are very welcoming and the added little treats, were a very nice touch.
