Hendoll Cottage 2 Reviews

Really warm and comfortable, although getting a cool fresh bedroom took some thought. Everything we needed for a self catering stay. Super walks from the cottage and with a map these can be a full day. If you are into walking the Blue Pool ,views of Snowdonia, Arthog waterfalls. and various points of the estuary are within easy reach. The owner is very responsive to questions and was very helpful and considerate. Great weekend.
Beautiful property well equipped for all needs. Very dog friendly. Lovely warm and clean cosy cottage. Short walk to the sea and some incredible walks. Scenery just stunning second time visiting and will not be the last
The heating was an issue. One minute is was 17c next 23.5, needs some TLC all round .
Natalie
We loved our stay at Hendoll Cottage 2 picked 2 over 1 when booking as we like an open plan kitchen lounge. Its a lovely cottage in a great location, a short walk to the beach, which the dogs loved, and other walks on the doorstep. Very well equipped, quirky upside down layout. Great shower. Excellent wood burner. I read reviews about the bedrooms being cold, but after having the wood burner on for a log or two, we were glad to go down to the cool bedroom for bed! Enjoyed a retro board game on a rainy Sunday afternoon! Will certainly look at booking again.

Mattresses are tired. Rest of furniture is good Heating issue, needs an urgent solution. Cleaning is excellent. Landlord attentive. Location and lay out is good.
My family and I had a spectacular time.
Veronica
Beautiful clean, warm and comfortable cottage, warm welcome, but would not recommend for people with mobility issues .
Apart from many Cobwebs and the lack of control for the Central Heating which is absolutely necessary in light of the weather and offering accommodation for Pets then Cottage and it's facilities are good. We left early and are still suffering from the aftermath of coming in from Thunderstorms and not having heating.
Heather
Absolutely brilliant as per usual. Beautiful and comfortable home from home cottage set in a fantastic part of the village right by Blue Lake. So close to beach and Fairbourne, with the best Fish and Chip shop. Can't wait to go back again.
Jennifer
Everything about the cottage was great including the well kept garden. Lovely walks around .
Andrea
We had a fantastic 5 days in this cottage and would definitely return. The cottage and the gardens were beautiful. We couldnt get the smart tv to work but cant complain about this as it wasnt important enough to us to contact the owner who Im sure would have resolved the problem. It was the perfect location for us with lots of stunning beaches near by and not too far from mount Snowden
Amazing stay. Host lovely too!
Lovely cottage , close to the beach, lovely walks .
Nichola
We had a fabulous stay here . Amazing location and beautiful cottage .
Michael
Great stay, cottage is in a great location and has everything you need for your stay. The only issue we did have was the heating was on timer and it got really cold in the bedrooms and when it did come on the temperature was really low. Average temperature was 14.5 degrees in the evening. Other than that we would definitely recommend.
Lesley
Lovely warm and cosy cottage. We had everything we needed for an ideal off season break. Ideally situated close to beach and mountains. We had perfect weather for dog walking and mountain biking.
We stayed over New Year following a frantic year. It was so nice to arrive at the cottage in winter that was warm, decorated nicely for Christmas with logs ready for a fire. Perfect family layout, great space, super warm to return to after winter walks. We will be back!!!
There was a problem with the heating, which we hope now sorted. I was in contact with the owner all through. Other than that it all good.
Christian
Such a pleasant stay in a cosy cottage. Fully equipped kitchen, fabulous wood burner and a superb shower all contributed to our family giving a 5 star rating. Thank, you.
Richard
Felt a partial refund was necessary during our stay ,the heating worked fine but the hot water was intermittent he did let us know until 48hrs before there was a problem but we didnt have time to find somewhere else and took a chance, which were glad we did as its a lovely area But accommodation wise he toilet cistern right next to the bedroom constantly ran all night and there was a dirty pan in the cupboard picture available no apology for that ? I wouldnt have left a bad review if a bottle of wine or something for our inconvenience had been left he came to fix the toilet but nothing so here you a well deserved poor review

Stunning property within easy walking distance to Fairbourne and some stunning local walks. Property was clean and comfortable with a welcome gift of Welsh cakes and milk. The whole area is extremely dog friendly and Fairbourne Beach is stunning. Make a point of visiting the Fairbourne steam train, Cregganan Lakes, Dolgellau and doing the Precipice Walk. One really minor point was lack of useful contact number and guidance on checking out. Minimal cleaning equipment and recycling general rubbish bins were full and we only added to the problem. Overall the Henddol Cottage 2 was a lovely, quiet and relaxing place to stay loved our time here and we would definitely consider staying here again.
The cottage was lovely with everything we needed including everything to make full meals during our stay. It felt cosy yet spacious and our two children loved that it was an 'upside down' house. It was clean and the welcome treat was gratefully received! The double bed has a head board and foot board which was slightly restrictive for one of the party 6ft3 but other than that we really couldn't fault it. We took bikes and really enjoyed pedalling to Barmouth over the railway bridge to go crabbing. But we also spent a lot of time in Fairbourne which was in easy walking or very easy cycling distance. The beach is stunning, and we enjoyed several meals in the Penrhyn bar and grill, and the chippy. The little steam train was also a bit hit. If you pay gift aid you can use your ticket many times during the year after buying it, which was a welcome surprise.
Heather
Fantastic cottage, so clean and comfortable, welsh cake and milk in fridge was a lovely surprise, couldn't fault a thing. So close to the beach and the walk up the lane to Blue Lake was amazing. Will definately go back next year.
Comfortable clean well appointed cottage. Had a great time
Frederick
Clean and well presented cottage. Everything there you needed. Very quiet location, enjoyed our stay.
Kieron
Everything was absolutely perfect. We loved our time here and will certainly be returning.
Heather
The property was warm, comfortable and had all the facilities I needed for my stay. Its location was excellent.
Raymond
The cottage was very clean and comfortable with just about all one needs. Very minor negative points were nowhere to hang wet outdoor clothing and a loose bath panel. As I say, very minor
We had a wonderful stay at this cottage, it was lovely and clean, very comfortable. My only want was a fire guard as we had a toddler and a 6 year old felt we couldn't put the fire on until they had gone to bed. We cycled down to Fairbourne and then across to Barmouth it was wonderful. Would highly recommend this lovely cottage
The cottage itself is beautiful, its so peaceful and waking up to the stream outside the front door is perfect. Was lucky enough on the 1st day to meet the owner, he was super polite and welcoming. The only downside of the stay was the cleanliness of the cottage, the house keepers needed to actually clean
Brilliant, thanks for fixing the cooker, repaired really quickly.
Baptiste
I spent two weeks in November in this lovely cottage and I really recommend it ! Very comfortable, best location and excellent communication with my host.
A welcome pack would be nice with relevant information provided
What a lovely place! Everything was ready and clean. We found the cottage comfortable and everything we needed was there. Location is superb and some days we didn't need the car at all. Simply left the house and either climbed up the trail or down the other side to the beach. Loved every minute.
Beautiful cottage. Very clean and great facilities. Beautiful area . Will be staying again .
Kirsty
Lovely cottage in a lovely area with walks straight from the door. Had everything we needed for our stay.
Great location Lovely cottage Thoroughly recommended
Jeanette
We had a wonderful stay at Hendoll cottage. Lovely cottage with enclosed garden so we could let the doggies out without worry. Great open plan kitchenliving space and 2 good sized bedrooms. The location is brilliant, 10 minute walk to a dog friendly beach in Fairbourne. Small grocery shop in Fairbourne, or larger supermarket in Dolgellau. Friog is a great location to explore Snowdonia.
