Barn Cottage Reviews

This cottage needs renaming to Mary Poppins cottage as it is practically perfect in every way. We stayed for 2 weeks and actually cooked full meals in the kitchen, a sunday dinner, lasagna, curry, and there was nothing we needed that wasn't there. The beds were comfy, the lounge area was great. Both bathrooms were perfect. Outside was perfect. Didn't want to come home. If it wasn't for the fact we needed to collect our cat, we might have stayed an extra few days.
Superb place, clean, spacious, excellent location to numerous lovely beaches. The owners are very friendly and helpful, 2nd time here and will be back. The white boxer dog family.
Sheila
Beautiful bungalow with everything of good quality. Set in lovely grounds, that are well kept, adjacent to caravan site. We had a great week, weather fabulous and we made good use of the outdoor furniture. The only downside for me was the early morning traffic noise, but that is no reflection on this great property.
We booked Barn Cottage through the Sykes website from Monday 9th June to Saturday 14th June 2025, paying 829. 00 for the stay. After booking, we received a phone call informing us that we could not stay the Friday night and would need to leave on Friday morning instead. We were told we would receive a refund of 128.17 for the missed night. Unfortunately, the refund never arrived, despite this being promised. After many years of booking holidays with Sykes, we are very disappointed with the way this has been handled and are now seriously reconsidering whether to use the company again. We have been unable to speak to anyone at Sykes, and have had no response to eMails, messages through the site, etc. That said, the accommodation itselfBarn Cottagewas first rate, and everything during our stay was excellent. It is a real shame that poor customer service has overshadowed an otherwise lovely break.
The owners have put a lot of thought into making this property home from home. It was so well equipped, very clean and comfortable. We had a great break away and would definitely recommend this property.
Rachel
Lovely property, well equipped, well decorated, very spacious
Howard
The best cottage we have ever stayed in, everything was as described or better and it was so comfortable. Thank you for your attention to detail. Howard and Debbie.
Deborah
Beautiful property, high standard of cleanliness. Everything was excellent, cannot fault anything. One of the best cottages we have stayed in .
On arrival the barn was cosy and warm with lights on to welcome us. It is beautifully appointed down to the very last detail and spotlessly clean comfortable beds, reclining sofas, plenty of room for 6 and very private I would highly recommend
A lovely stay in a clean and well equipped house. Thankyou for letting us stay on extra nights. Just a couple of nit picks..could do with a tumble dryer and the sofas have seen better days..wouldn't put me off staying again though as too many plusses.
Melody
What a beautiful house everything thought of with very good taste, Bed very comfortable and everything so clean. We loved the little touch with the owls.Congratulations to Paul and Lisa with their venture . The village was wonderful our black Labrador loved the beach..
The accommodation was truly wonderful. Well kept, clean and user friendly. Instruction booklet and things to do booklet very comprehensive and easy to use. Although near small exclusive caravan site the area was beautifully kept and quiet. Weather not sunny enough for us to use the outside area but again it had everything one needs to have drinks outside and to do a bit of private sun bathing. Yes would recommend this accommodation to anyone who wanted an upgrade getaway.
What a lovely cottage , so spacious inside bigger than in the pictures. Also outside area was amazing for our dogs and so secure. Met the owners and they were very nice and asked if we needed anything. Very well equipped . We've already booked for next year !
Michael
Barn Cottage was beautiful, very spacious, warm and spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. The walled courtyard was very dog friendly and secure which was so important to us. It was nice and peaceful and not very far to the coast.
Barn cottage was lovely, was everything we couldve asked for and we had a lovely stay. Would love to return and would highly recommend. Thank you for the great stay and lovely welcome gifts.
This Barn Cottage was amazing beautiful setting and immaculate inside and furniture outside to relax on, every thing you need for a very comfortable holiday. The owners were very accommodating as we needed a wheelchair, they sourced one for us. I would highly recommend this property, its close to so many places of interest. We will definitely visit again. Barn Cottage was an absolute gem! The description online was 100 accurate. Everything we needed was provided in the cottage. The beds were very comfortable, the interior & the grounds surrounding it were immaculate. The owners were on site when we arrived & were friendly & said if there was anything we needed just to ask. There was nothing lacking but it was reassuring to know they were only a call away. A fish and chip van visits on Wednesday evenings and the food was delicious

Excellent appointed, spacious, clean accommodation with under floor heating, quality furnishings, comfy beds and luxurious slipper bath. Thoughtful welcome pack with local goodies and tea coffee. Close to beaches and local attractions. The use of the dog walk nearby was appreciated. Paul and Lisa very friendly and welcoming. We felt at home the minute we arrived and will return. Highly recommend this 5 star property.
This was on of the best holiday cottages we have stayed in. It was very spacious, well appointed and warm. There were plenty of places to visit and its proximity to the beach meant that our two Frenchies had the run of the beach and the fields. We enjoyed our week and were lucky with the weather, only one wet day. We would not hesitate to recommend the Barn to anyone considering it.
Excellent. I think it was one of the very best cottages I have ever stayed in. Thank you so much. Luxury living. Lots of places to store everything. Great facilities in the cottage. Good enclosed space for Jess the dog. Clive, Lynne, Clair, Lylah and Jess small Yorkshire Terrier.
An amazing property. So modern and spacious with absolutely everything you would need for a great holiday. Would definately stay again if ever in the region. So helpful and friendly. Made us feel very welcome. Thank you.

Excellent accomodation, very comfortably furnished , the owners Paul and Lisa, could not have been more helpful, we needed advice on one item , as we had never used the type of shower and Paul came round , and sorted it for us . even the weather, considering the weather across the country, was not too bad . finally only 33 miles away Suttonon sea. has a wonderful beach and is interesting as well.
The barn is perfect if you have a dog as the very large courtyard if fully enclosed and the dogs can wander in and out. Having access to the dog walking field on the caravan park is a real bonus. The whole place is beautiful and very well equipped. Lovely and clean, well designed with large light filled rooms. Lots to do in the area and the coast only 15 mins drive. Sutton on sea has a great dog walking beach. The best holiday accommodation we have stayed in.
We arrived to be greeted by Paul the owner and onsite Manager Bob. From that minute on we were made to feel very welcome. We were travelling with our elderly Mum they offered to bring groceries or anything they could to help which we thought was extremely kind.Bob was on site to help if their was any problems The Barn was totally fabulous we had no problems at all It was by far the best luxury stay we have ever had and hope to return.Thank you very much Paul and family.
Louise
Well appointed, clean and comfy accommodation which was ideal for our requirements. Easy to find and we enjoyed the comfortable beds! Lots of space for 6 adults. Needs more outdoor seating for the whole group to relax together. Well equipped kitchen made cooking together fun.
