Beckside Hall Reviews

Lovely spacious accommodation for a family celebration. Beckside Hall is in a quiet beautiful location surrounded by pretty grounds so lots of space outside too. The track to the hall is narrow and needs to be taken slowly. The Hall itself is very well equipped, the only slight criticism is the dining chairs around glass table need felt on the bottom of the legs!!

This property was amazing, exceeded our expectations. Was spacious and light although some of the windows were draughty. All of the bedrooms were comfortable and the beds were clean and firm. House was clean and very well equipped Though there wasn't a hairdryer Sparkle the cat was a welcome surprise. The views all around the property were stunning and can imagine in the summer being outside would be lovely. All the little touches were appreciated
Patrick
The property is in a stunning location with excellent facilities and our party of 4 on a walking holiday found it to be excellent and ticked all our boxes. The house itself and grounds provided us with all we needed the lounges are comfortable as are all the beds. One slight note of caution the post code provided does not lead directly to the property so you do need to be aware of the need to turn up the lane. Overall we are looking to return to the property in the future as its a perfect location for discovering the Howgills and surrounding area. The only slight and it is slight downside is the heated towel rails in the utility room and downstairs bathroom did not appear to be working. This did not detract from our stay and we would be more than happy to return.

For second year running had fabulous time at beckside Hall dogs loved the open space in gardens House is amazing like everywhere you do notice little things but overall hugely impressed with it overall only down side is not been able to control heating properly as dome mornings were cold and radiators weren't on but had fabulous time will be returning next yr

I would say to potential guests just book it as its a fantastic property in a great location and dont waste your time looking at other properties. We have stayed in many properties for our group walking trips and this is the best weve had. And I get lots of credit points for finding it.

This property is a little gem in the Yorkshire countryside,we've recently returned after a 5night stay here. The house is amazing, so much space and fully equipped with everything, down to the last detail with things like cling film, tin foil and spare rubbish bags. The open plan kitchendininglounge area is superb, with wonderful views over the fells. The kitchen is well equipped and has a full length fridge and separate full length freezer too. The mezzanine lounge area also has great views over the hills. The beds were extremely comfortable, complete with top quality crisp white cotton sheets, for a good night's sleep. We made use of the tennis court to exercise the dogs off lead at the property they are not allowed to roam the gardens off lead, which wasn't a problem. There are plenty of outside seating areas, and a bbq, all with super views of the fells. There is just one thing that people might find helpful to know....the approach road approx half a mile is only single track and there are a couple of sharp bends, so if you do happen to meet another vehicle, one of you would have to reverse quite a long way as there are no passing places in lane which has stone walls along much of it's length. We were lucky and never encountered another vehicle. There is only one other property along this lane, and we did notice that the neighbour seemed to leave their house early every morning and return later in the day, so this really shouldn't be a problem. The property is only approximately 15 minutes drive from Junction 37 of the M6, and 10 minutes drive away from the pretty little town of Sedbergh. Sedbergh has a couple of really nice dog friendly eating places, we were very happy with the welcome, food and service at the Red Lion Inn and Smatts Duo Cafe. There are lots of walks from Sedbergh, around lovely woods and riverside, and also to the fells. We would definitely come back to this property if we visit this area again.
We thought the house was amazing, everything we wanted for our stay. Beautiful setting, loads of space, comfortable beds, plentiful hot water, house was very warm and comfortable and decorated to an high standard throughout, great mixture of old and new. and everyone loved it. Amazing views of the countryside, great sitting areas outside and in, Lovely to have bats at night and all the wildlife and birds around the place. Couple of minor points The automatic light switch in the ground floor bathroom was stuck on ON, so had to switch via the fuse. I think the PIR is broken. Some clingfilm in the kitchen would be nice as we forgot to bring any, or sealable Tupperware boxes. Missing hand towels in the downstairs and other bathrooms. The place was cleaned to a reasonably high standard throughout but there were some dead flies on shelves and dust in parts, but it was overall very good bathrooms and bedrooms were spotless. We werent aware there was a BBQ, so maybe would have bought coal and food for that, it wasnt listed but would have been a good option if we could have used it. Loved playing croquet on the tennis court. All in all a great place to stay for a family get together, so much space to find a quiet corner if you want, or to get together in a large communal area, great value for money, I would 100 recommend Beckside Hall.
It is a well maintained, spacious, well kitted out home in a very strategic location near walks and attractions. Thank you for a letting us have a wonderful family holiday at your home

Had a amazing week away at beckside hall house was clean and tidy rooms ... Had a amazing week away at beckside hall house was clean and tidy rooms immaculate and had every thing you need only negative no dryer for cloths but luckily didn't really need it as weather was dry for full week but overall I'd rate it 10 10 and already booked for next year dogs loved it an no fireworks either so they were happy and also got to meet sparkles the resident cat who took to us all So roll on next year can't wait

We had a lovely time aside from an issue with the water. We had no hot water for the first 3 days. However, once I spoke to the concierge company directly I'd left message that they had missed this was fixed within the day. Lovely place to stay.
No hot water for three days and nights , no access to wood for the wood burner combination lock on wood store with no code given! we reported this to the cleanersmaintenance staff but to no avail! Living room not vacuumed and cobwebs on lights in two bedrooms. Extremely dissatisfied with property and rather annoyed that no one has tried to contact us! Mr A P Williams
Had an enjoyable stay, but found that the house and gardens need alot of attention and maintenence.
Richita
Firstly we loved the location and the size of the property itself. There was 7 of us and we had more than enough space to relax. We loved all the outdoor space! All the bedrooms were nicely sized and the beds were really comfy. The kitchen had everything we needed which was great! Only down side would be that the rooms were a little dusty and had alot of cobwebs everywhere. One thing to note about the property is that we had alot of issues with the lights going out and the water not working. On day 2 and 3 in the morning, the water stopped working so some of us couldnt shower, even worse there was no water coming from the kitchen tap so we couldnt even get drinking water or do the dishes. Eventually in the working it started working again however we noticed if you had the dishwasher on the water in the house would not work. Also if you put the oven on the electricity would trip for the outside lights. Overall, we did enjoy our stay at beckhall.
