The Old Chapel Reviews

Richard
The location of this cottage is lovely although quite a tight turn into the driveway if you have a large 4x4estate car. The interior was clean and the kitchen well stocked with pots and pans etc. There was a half carton of milk left in the fridge along with opened sauce bottle which we didnt risk using. We had a problem getting the sauna to work but found out that the one dial had been put on upside down. The location of the property was in a quiet lane off the main road and ideal for visiting the coast and a great Morrisons local was a mile away walkable.
Claire
Lovely cozy cottage with everything you need for a holiday. Warm we stayed in freezing New Year, with comfy beds, kitchen well appointed, fireplace works a treat. The hot tub is great for star gazing on clear cold nights, but couldn't get the sauna to work. A really good spot for seeing a slice of Norfolk.
A comfortable stay, the cottage was situated so we had easy access to a lot of attractions in North Norfolk.
We ended up extending our first weeks stay to two weeks. We really enjoyed the cottage and would highly recommend it. The owners were kind and helpful.
Pauline
Absolutely fab accommodation, very clean and well equipped. Comfy beds and great hot tub after a long day sightseeing. Perfect central location for different days out. Peaceful location at the end of the day, relaxing in the garden
Kelvin
Had our 2nd stay at the Old Chapel and this time we got the weather to go with the location. Had a lovely week, the property is in a quietpeaceful location but is a great base to go to the many different attractions in the surrounding area. Thank you for the welcome treats and thank you Rose.
We really enjoyed our stay at The Old Chapel it's a lovely property, well furnished and cosy. Very quiet surroundings and the lovely welcome gifts were much appreciated. However, there were a few things that we feel could be improved The dishwasher door doesn't open properly as it catches on the fridge as it is opened, which makes it difficult to use the dishwasher. The tap in the ensuite doesn't turn off fully so it is constantly drippingrunning. The door to the ensuite doesn't close very easily. The blinds in the second and third bedroom do not block out the light very well and curtains are needed. The garden looks uncared for there are weeds, a broken planter and bird droppings, which could be easily removed. It felt as though the front and back outside areas needed a good sweep and a clean. The sauna was broken so we couldn't use it, which was disappointing. Although we were informed on our first day that this was out of use, we were told a part was on its way and they were hoping for it to be delivered on our day of arrival and therefore they would get somebody out to repair it. However, we had no further updates to this and therefore the sauna was not fixed during our one week stay. We still enjoyed our stay and used it as a base to explore Norfolk. However, the house does appear to need some maintenance and attention so we probably wouldn't stay again.
We had a lovely Xmas break in really lovely surroundings, that was well kitted out and snug the cottage was even decorated for Xmas which was really nice for our 3 children and the adults too if truth be told!
Graham
We all really enjoyed our stay. It was a lovely home in a lovely setting. Quiet and peaceful yet still close enough to amenities to not feel cut off. Although we didn't use the sauna, the hot tub was a great addition.
Lovely comfortable stay in the Old Chapel Ideal base for visiting Norfolk Nearby Foxley Woods with lovely walks to spend time exploring.
The property was very comfortable, well maintained and ideally located for us in a quiet area whilst within easy driving distance of many tourist attractions. The kitchen facilities were excellent and the welcome pack was much appreciated. We did not make use of the hot tub or sauna. We were surprised that there was no hairdryer but many thanks to Claire who helped to resolve this issue. We were only one couple so had plenty of room but in our opinion the property would feel very cramped with 6 adults. Whilst there are 3 bedrooms the smallest one has no wardrobe or drawer space and is more suited to children.
Victoria
The old chapel is a lovly place to stay , has everything you need just like your own home , had a lovly card and some gifts left by the owners, the hot tub was amazing it was a lovly garden with little lights at night and kept very tidy , there where lots of places to visit that was only a short drive away , would love to stay again . Thank you
Kelvin
Lovely place to stay, had a nice week here just wish the weather had been better, nothing to do with the cottage though. Had everything you needed and the hot tub and sauna were brilliant bonuses. Thank you to Rose the owner for the welcome gifts, they were most appreciated, we would definitely like to return in the future.
Absolutely lovely. Suited our needs exactly. Can't fault it. Comfortable and located in a great area with so much to do. Loved the hot tub to come back to after a long day out even if it was raining. Really hope to return. Housekeeper lovely too and sorted out the glitch promptly.
Wow what a lovely place, had an amazing tranquil stay at the chapel. Hot tub was a must, sauna a bonus. Thank you very much. Peter and Trish, BurnhamonCrouch.
Cottage was lovely, hot tub and sauna great to relax in, only downside was nearest pub was easily two miles away.
Such a lovely cosy house with everything you need for a relaxing break away from home. So much to do in the area and all within a 35 min drive at the most, many much less than that which is great if you have little people with you as we did. Angie the housekeeper is lovely, easily contactable should you need her and her local knowledge leads to lots of recommendations of places to visit and eat
Lovely place to stay. Excellent facilities, although bins in the bathrooms or bedrooms would have been handy and a full size mirror would have been nice. Hot tub and sauna were such a treat as we had glorious weather. Would definitely recommend this property and would love to stay here again. Was lovely to meet Angie the housekeeper, she does an amazing job and was very helpful with any questions we had. Perfect base for exploring this beautiful part of Norfolk.
We stayed at The Old Chapel during April 2023 as a family of four children aged 4 and 9 our stay was amazing, the cottage is very well presented with excellent facilities and being well stocked. The welcome pack was a lovely addition and made settling in even easier! The hot tub and sauna were both big hits and enjoyed by us all. The setting is beautiful, and the surrounding area great to explore including Foxley Woods which was a good walk, and other destinations near and far. Angie was lovely, we had a couple of questions which she was able to help with and nothing seemed too much trouble. We will certainly be coming back to The Old Chapel, and thank you so much for letting us stay here!
