Oak Cottage Reviews

Deborah
This was a brilliant holiday from start to finish. The cottage was the best equipped we have stayed in, every eventuality had been catered for. From the welcome basket containing local produce to the warm welcome given we couldnt fault anything. The hot tub was superb, the enclosed woodland dog walk was a huge bonus our dogs thoroughly enjoyed being off lead. The cottage was warm and cosy and well positioned for some of West Wales most beautiful beaches and countryside, we will definitely visit again and recommend to friends and family.
Stephen
Quiet converted farm building, lovely balcony from main bedroom. Well equipped and comfortable, the hot tub was a lovely addition and gave great view of stars when used after dark. Lesley and Les made us feel very welcome throughout our stay. The highlight for us and our dog was the woodland where she could explore off lead in complete safety. We would definitely visit again as there are lots of fantastic walks, beaches and views in the area.
Absolutely lovely cottage and lovely hosts. So peaceful and relaxing. Would definitely stay again.
Steven
This cottage is one of the best we have stayed in with everything you could want ... This cottage is one of the best we have stayed in with everything you could want home from home the hot tub was relaxing after a long drive down the hamper was most welcome thankyou
Ursula
Lovely comfortable cottage which was super clean when we arrived. It's well equipped too so it's really home from home. A new addition this year is the Woodland Walk, where you can sit and enjoy a few mindful moments basking among the trees and dogs can have a good run off the lead. The hot tub is a bonus too great after a day out. The cottage is well placed for local amenities and you can find anything you want in nearby Newcastle Emlyn. A short drive to beaches, we liked Poppit Sands with its acres of sand dunes and not too many people. This was our third stay at the cottages and hopefully not our last.
Geraint Tudor
A beautiful, clean, well equipped cottage the owners had thought of everything you would need for your stay. We received a warm welcome and was pleased that the owners left a thoughtful hamper. The cottage was comfortable and we enjoyed using the conservatory . Our dog was catered for with a small private back area and a small private wood behind the owners house. We hope to return again in the future.
Lorraine
Anyone booking this cottage will not be disappointed. The owners Les and Lesley live on site and greeted us on arrival. There is nothing that hasn't been thought about with regards to what you need in the cottage. There were some lovely sun sets seen from the bedroom balcony and the hot tub was an added bonus. The welcome pack was better than any we had at other holiday homes. Bread, butter, tea, coffee, biscuits eggs and jam. The position of the cottage was ideal lovely quiet area but near to plenty of beaches on the Cardigan coastline. Afon Mel honey farm was well worth a visit, try a sample of the mead. Cenarth Falls is a great place for photography and walking. We hoped to see the salmon coming up river but they didn't turn up on our day. Lastly Les and Lesley, lovely hosts we enjoyed some great chats with them and I'm sure any problems would have been sorted straight away. We didn't have any and I'm sure you won't either.
Ursula
Lovely cottage attractively furnished and well appointed. Scrupulously clean when we arrived. Hot tub an added bonus. Not far from beaches and attractions. Highly recommended.
Claire

Everything about the cottage was perfect. Beautifully decorated, the owners had thought about everything. The hot tub was an added bonus, and the location was breathtaking, with lots of lovely beaches near by.

Nice Location. Nice Hosts. Nice Property. We enjoyed our stay and would willingly stay again in the future. My only request would be for a BBQ to be provided, but of course this is just a personal preference.
Sharon

The photographs don't do Oak Cottage justice. A wonderful place to stay with excellent hosts in Les and Lesley
Trevor
The furniture in the cottage has been updated. You need a new photo shoot to reflect that. Your current photos don't do The cottage justice The cottage itself is wonderful, and we had a lovely holiday.
Our week at Oak Cottage was simply superb! Lesley and Les were wonderful hosts excellent advice on local places of interest, very helpful with any requests regarding the cottage. Everything we could have hoped for with facilities, the peace and tranquility of the local area was stunning. We have stopped in many Sykes Cottages around th3 country this has been the best to date, without question. Hope to return !
Katherine
Lovely cottage, has everything you need. Les and Les are lovely
Joanne
Gorgeous cottage, on arrival we were greeted by Les and Lesley. The cottage was immaculately clean and smelled beautiful. Les and Lesley have thought of everything you might need from a hairdryer in both bedrooms, beautifully soft towels and dressing gowns perfect for the hot tub to a lovely welcome basket. The cottages are set in beautiful country side but not to far from a town. Nothing nicer after a days exploring than a relaxing dip the hot tub. They made us feel welcome along with our dogs. An absolutely brilliant find, will be combing back.
Les and Lesley have thought of everything to make this cottage so homely yet very practical. Excellent kitchen facilities and lounge area and the conservatory was a bonus to relax in. The scenery was breathtaking in the surrounding area of the cottage and yet a short a drive away were some fabulous beaches. The Owners even exceeded our expectations with the information folders that they provide, containing detailed descriptions of local walks, beaches, places to visit including sat nav postcodes which helped us to plan our week. Of course the highlight was the evening dip in the hot tub watching the sunset, highly recommend this cottage for a staycation.
Dianne
What a fantastic cottage, on arrival we were so pleased with the appearance, everything was so clean. The cottage felt like a home not a holiday let, I said time my husband I could easily move in here. We spent all our time either sat in the conservatory looking at the views or the hot tub in the evening. The cottage was very well equipped with everything you could ever need from dishwasher to board games, the cottage is full of character which is down to the owners Les and Lesley, they live on site and are lovely people they leave you to enjoy your holiday but are there if ya need them and so very very welcoming, stopped to chat with them a few times. The hot tub was cleaned out and topped up during our stay by les. This is a perfect base for visiting this part of wales. We have already said we will 100 return. We had a perfect week away.
Caroline
Oak cottage was lovely and had everything you could possibly want and need. The owners were so welcoming and made us feel right at home. The cottage was so clean and homely. Loved having the hot tub too. The cottage is located in such a beautiful part of Wales.
Total rest and relaxation in this peaceful rural retreat in West Wales. Home from Home and placed in close proximity to the coastal delights of Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire. All in all an absolute Welsh Gold experience.
Our hosts could not have been more helpful and accommodating from the very first contact. The property was beautifully clean and well appointed. The welcome basket a very nice touch, thank you. Very warm and cosy for when we returned from bracing walks along the coast. The hot tub, even in the rain, was fantastic and for us a lovely luxurious pleasure. The cottage is in a perfect location for the activities in the local area and maps and information are provided in plenty. An ideal spot for a long weekend visit such as ours. And best of all our dog was made very welcome as well. We are very much looking forward to visiting again. Highly recommended.
Nicola

Les & lesley very friendly and made us & dogs feel welcome .l loved the dressing gowns just what i needed after hot tub also found the book with dog friendly places really usefull the cottage had all that we needed includeing hairdryer wich i had forgotten
Oak Cottage was absolutely lovely. We couldnt fault anything about this place, just perfect. Lesley & Les the owners are there if you need them but leave you to get on with your holiday. The welcome basket that is there upon your arrival is better than you could imagine, so thoughtful. Lovely fluffy dressing gowns on the bed was a really nice touch, fluffy towels too. Well let me move on to the hot tub cleaned and kept in tip top condition by Les, an absolute bonus to be able to enjoy and relax. The dogs enjoyed their time here as much as we did. I seriously cannot rate this little gem enough. We will definitely be back.
The cottage owners Les and Lesley have thought of everyone. A really home from home holiday. From the welcoming site of tea and coffee milk sugar for our first holiday cuppa to the hairdryer with robes and soft towels and comfy beds in each bedroom. Oak cottage is very well equipped and was absolutely perfect a little gem infact. The peace and quiet wonderful, it felt like we'd actually had a break from our hectic lives. The many beaches are in easy reach from just a 15min drive away. Then home to the relaxing hot tub lazing watching the clouds go by and a nice bottle of wine provided in the welcome hamper by our wonderful hosts. Benji our border collie was very welcome too, spare dog bowls under the sink incase we had forgotten to pack his and he enjoyed a lovely walk down the country lanes. Les and Lesley are around with a wealth of local knowledge to hand. We would certainly recommend this cottage. Fantastic. Thankyou very much.
Bridget
This is a lovely, comfortable cottage that is even better in person than it looks in the pictures, with very welcoming hosts. As soon as you walk in the door you feel at home, and after a very long journey it was such a good feeling to walk in the door and have the welcome pack waiting so that you don't have to worry about food & drink on your arrival day. We had a great holiday there the dogs loved it too and were even able to recharge our hybrid car.
This cottage was amazing one of the best we have stayed in. Fully equipped comfortable and cosy with plenty of choices of places to sit and enjoy the lovely views. The hosts were kind including a generous welcome basket, offering a warm greeting on our arrival. Also taking the time to share their knowledge of the local area which has lovely countryside and beaches close by. The hot tub was a welcome treat we used during the day also at night.
Carole
Best Cottage weve ever stayed in, A very warm welcome, cottage light and airy and warm even when it snowed ! 5 stars all round.
A great base for exploring the area. A comfortable cottage over all. Perhaps a need for a new mattress on the double bed. Owners friendly and accommodating.
The cottage was perfect and equiped with everything you could need. Exceptional welcome pack and very friendly owners who were around if you needed them.
