Is Stable End Right For Your Group

Discover why this cottage is the one for your party or family reunion...

For Families
Stable End offers children space to explore in the surrounding Herefordshire countryside with fields and footpaths right outside. The rural setting means fresh air, wildlife spotting and freedom to play outdoors safely. The open-plan barn layout lets parents keep an eye on younger children whilst the peaceful location provides a proper break from screens and busy routines for the whole family.
Groups Will Love...
The exposed timber beams at Stable End are the barn's standout feature. Original oak frames span the vaulted ceilings throughout the conversion, creating an authentic agricultural atmosphere that modern builds simply cannot replicate. These structural beams supported the barn for generations and now form the architectural centrepiece of the living spaces. The height and craftsmanship of the timber work is immediately impressive when you step inside.
Pet Friendly
Stable End does not accept pets during your stay. The rural Herefordshire location means working farms and livestock operate in the surrounding countryside, which makes it unsuitable for dogs. If you're travelling with a pet, you'll need to arrange kennels or alternative accommodation. The barn's owners maintain this policy to protect both animals and the local farming community in this peaceful agricultural area.

Stable End Reviews

Christine
A lovely week at Stable End the accommodation had everything we needed and we thoroughly enjoyed our time in the property. Our host was very friendly with plenty of advice on places to visit in the area.
Stable End is a beautiful property, well maintained, spotless, well equipt with everything you could possibly need, the garden area is excellent and the owner Mrs Owen checked with us to make sure all was ok and if we needed anything, I certainly would recommend this property to all.

We loved our week staying at Stable End. It's a lovely property very comfortable and clean with great character. It's surrounded by beautiful countryside with plenty of walks. The owners are very friendly and communication with them is very easy. Will definitely be returning.
We recently returned from a fantastic week in Stable end and it we could not have picked a better cottage or location. The very well thought through conversion of the old farm buildings create an idyllic setting surrounded by lovely garden and playing fields which the kids loved so much the didn't miss the electronics even though the wifi was perfect when required. The beds were comfy, showers hot and powerful and kitchen packed with equipment. Very good value for money and we would love to come back one day.

Wonderful setting, beautifully clean. It is of course an ancient building and has the creaks and groans on floorboards and stairs as one would expect. I would certainly like to return one day and continue further voyages in to the wonderful countryside that is the Welsh borders.
Lovely property, great hosts. Very quite location, perfect for a peaceful laidback break. Ideally located for lots attractions, plenty of National Trust properties nearby. For really good food at great prices try rhe White Lion in Leominster. All in all a great weeks holiday. Thank you

Compact, but cosy. Lovely setting. Shower in the ensuite was excellent. It would have helpful if there had been some coathooks downstairs to hang up coats. They ended up cluttering the downstairs seating.
Nicholas
The cottage was lovely and exactly what we wanted. Beautiful country setting! The owner was very nice and helpful whenever we had questions. Would definitely book again. Gilbert was an added bonus!
We had a really lovely week at Stable End,very comfortable cottage in a lovely area. No mobile phone signal in cottage but there is WiFi. Would definitely come back again.
Lovely cottage had a great stay just a note that there is a beautiful big beam ... Lovely cottage had a great stay just a note that there is a beautiful big beam over the beds on the mezim younger children would be fine but my 2 six foot boys did hit their heads a few times
Stable End was beautiful, lots of outdoor space for our 3 grandchildren to play safe and interact with the other residents on the complex. Sandra and David were fab hosts. Loved the whole experience so much we booked straight away for next year too! Pembridge is an amazing find, go to the river and take towels, stunning area
Michelle
Would definitely go back. Ideal location and lovely accommodation.
A very nice quiet rural area owners very Helpful nice fresh eggs from farm also
We have just had a wonderful holiday in Stable End cottage in Herefordshire. The cottage was perfect and exactly as described. It was clean and spacious with excellent facilities and the perfect combination of private outdoor space and shared space for the kids to make friends. The wifi was very useful and the eggs from the farm were the best ever. Dealing with Sykes was a pleasure. They were helpful and friendly with a good sense of humour and sent through clear instructions about our holiday without bombarding us with unnecessary information. Thank you.
This was well equipped accommodation in a charming setting within reach of many historic towns, villages, places of interest, pubs etc. Largely comfy beds and quality bed linen. All I'd say is that the walls are thin, extractor fans connected to bathroom lights noisy and stairs creaky it's a barn conversion after all so I was grateful I was staying with considerate people and took ear plugs! Loved the placing of the downstairs bathroom which gave us the impression of a separate wing.

We 2 families with children under 10 had a great week in Stable End. The barn conversion is very cosy and had everything we needed. Showers were powerful and hot, beds were comfy, central heating was very responsive and the place was quiet. Plenty of safe, outdoor areas for our children to play.
Our first holiday booked via Sykes Cottages and if this is the standard of the places available, we'll be booking again. We've still got a lot of the UK to explore so let's hope there are cottages close to the areas we plan to visit.

Stable End is a beautiful cottage situated in the stunning Herefordshire countryside. The location could not be more idyllic! With plenty of open space for kids to play and all the home comforts a family needs it is the perfect destination for gatherings or just a weekend getaway from city life. We met the owner Sandra who is simply lovely and incredibly welcoming. I would definitely return and would highly recommend!
Rodney
The surrounding areas were simply breathtaking and many of the sights were not too far to get to. The Owens' dog, Gilbert, was absolutely delightful & amusing. Perhaps the only disappointing aspect was that there was not so much as a complimentary pint of milk or even a bar of guest soap to make a start with. These little gestures and more were always available in the other Sykes cottages, although of course this is down to the owner's discretion. Overall, it was beautiful and definitely worth a second stay.
Super quiet beautiful location for days out or just getting away from it all.
