Meadowside Reviews

We had an amazing stay at the property. It had everything we needed with amazing views. The owners were super friendly ... we didn't want to leave.

We had a great time at Meadowside , the contryside was so nice and peaceful , was lovely to soak in the hot tub after a good days sight seeing and walking. The owners were very friendly and kind leaving us cream teas , fudge and cider. Dogs loved it very secure for smaller dogs but beware larger dogs could jump the wall like ours did, and remember your staying next to a lovely working farm. Would defo return The shower drains away very slowly , but this is not a problem if you just have a quick shower. Overall 5 star no probs

Thank you for a lovely stay at Meadowside. We were made to feel welcome and our children enjoyed seeing the animals around the farm. The location was beautiful with plenty to see within a short walk towards the cliffs and the Lamorna valley.
Perfect place to enjoy beautiful views and very comfortable and clean. Excellent area for 2 dogs who enjoyed the lovely garden and surrounding fields .
We had a fantastic holiday at Meadowside Cottage. We were welcomed with scones, fudge, cider and doggy biscuits. The Cottage is very clean and spacious with everything you need. It had fantastic views and a bonus of a hot tub. Lovely family who run the farm. We would definitely return and recommend. Thank you Zoe, Mark & Stanley.
We were warmly welcomed and the cottage and its surroundings were lovely. Magaret and David were generous hosts and it was genuinely dog friendly. Very well appointed with everything that you could need. The shower drained very slowly and perhaps needs looking at. I would certainly stay with Margaret again.

A comfortable, well equipped, all round lovely property in a stunning setting. The host family were very welcoming and friendly, we were spoilt with a cream tea and cider on arrival. Very doggie friendly, the garden is secure and safe. Our daughter loved getting to know the resident animals and the games room and honesty shop are an added bonus. We had a lovely stay, it's a great base for visiting the West and we hope to return soon.
We had a lovely stay. The cottage is well equipped, clean and comfortable. We enjoyed meeting the family and farm animals very family friendly place. The honesty shop and games room on site were very welcome. Hot tub was great. Lovely to be able to walk to Lamorna cove for sunset approx 25 mins walk. Good pub nearby. A great base to explore the best of Cornwall. Thank you.
We had a lovely stay at Meadowside. Loved the welcome package. The scones were incredible! Lovely place and in a great location to be able to explore Cornwall!

Unfortunately the only thing we enjoyed was the location. I have to stress that the owners are fantastic and super helpful! For us the property is no where near up to scratch, its dirty and completely outdated. By the second day we were searching for somewhere else to stay but couldnt find suitable due to moving on to Devon for our next week. Did we inform the owners, No. Why didnt we. this was not a quick fix to resolve, I cleaned on arrival but everything in this place needs removing, beds, carpets, fittings, so could the owners fix this while we were there, No. We slept on the settees as couldnt face the bedrooms. Mould on walls behind beds. Filthy carpets. Cracked and dirty bath, mouldy floor tiles. Awful beds. Cobwebs everywhere. Utensils are so old and dated. Bedroom furniture just horrible and dirty. My partner used the hot tub but I couldnt face it. We were relieved to leave and such a shame when its described as luxury. It could be amazing but for us 010. Disappointed with the money spent.
We had a great relaxing stay. The cottage was fab and had everything you would need. The weather was great when we stayed so we were able to spend time in the hot tub under the stars. Would definitely recommend.

The lodge was lovely with lovelly views and the farm was so nice to see the cows sheeps chickens area was peacefull with the lovelly hot tub and near by beach. The wood burner needs attention as there was to much flame and the udjustments wasnt working i have informed this to two people on site and the person who brang our logs he also saw our logs was just finishing in 10 mins each time we put some in which was a waste. Kitchen everything you needed was there but some pots and pans wasnt in a good condition and not verry clean luckely i had my own things. Beds were clean and comfy but the carpets in both bedroom and corridor smellt like dump each time we went in and i didnt find it hygienic or verry clean toilet needs attention as handle was needed couple of times push to flush also in the book it said settle in we shall come and welcome you but no one came to us other than that it was good thankyou
Just perfect . .... best holiday home we've stayed in for years
We just got back from a relaxing break at Meadowside. The house was very comfortable and clean and had everything you needed, really. We made great use of the log burner over the week. Our spaniel and sprocket enjoyed the secure garden and adjacent field when they weren't worn out by all the beaches, of which there are many close by, as well as numerous walks. I'm not one to go to the same place twice, but I would definitely revisit.

Personally the double bed mattress was much too soft for me. Lovely location and cottage, but a few suggestions would be Have a mirror where the hairdryer is in the bedroom. Perhaps a shelf in the bathroom. Hook on door to hang dressing gown on etc.
Angela
Lovely cottage. Owners very friendly and welcoming. Ideal location for where we wanted to go. Evenings are very peaceful. Most definitely be going back there. X
Just returned from a weeks stay at Meadowside and cannot emphasise enough how lovely it was. The extra touches of fresh flowers, cider, scones, jam and clotted cream were really appreciated. Beautiful farm setting run by a lovely and welcoming family, secluded and quiet but only a short drive to all the stunning beaches, St Michael's mount, the Minack, shops and so much more. The hot tub and homely feel of Meadowside was lovely to come home to after a busy day exploring! We will definitely return soon!
We had a lovely week at Meadowside. The accommodation was clean and very comfortable. Very friendly owners that make you feel very welcome and lovely goodies in arrival. The hot tub was great and well used by us. Would highly recommend staying here. Thank you for a lovely week.
A great place to stay will be going back.
A beautiful clean cottage with everything you need for your stay. Lovely little welcome with scones, jam and clotted cream. Owner was lovely and easily contactable for anything you need. There's a folder with lots of information in which we found really helpful. Me and my partner went just after new year so the weather wasn't the best, but it was perfect for a quiet getaway and we still had a wonderful time and drove into town. We would definitely recommend this cottage and will be looking to return in the future
Immaculate, clean, immediate response to queries on site, welcome cream tea and cider, good location with lovely views loved it.

Fabulous cottage. Peaceful getaway. Would definitely stay again.
It is a lovely little cottage. It is the second time we have visited and we love it. The walk down to Lamorna Cove was lovely too. A great place to stay if you want to visit places like St Michael's Mount, Lands End and Sennen Cove.
Stunning property with lovely views very homely after days out, loved the scones and clotted cream.
We loved this cottage. The location is perfect for exploring beautiful Cornwall and the property is spacious and clean. The outside space is great too. The owners and family are so friendly too that you dont want to leave!
A lovely property in a very peaceful setting with use of a hot tub and nice garden. Very relaxing. Close to Lamorna cove and an excellent pub. Great for exploring this area.
Very comfortable little cottage on a farm in beautiful surroundings. Had another great stay there again, everything we needed for the week including a lovely welcome of delicious scones, cream, jam and cider. Thanks very much, highly recommended.
A lovely place for a relaxing break or longer holiday. Five stars all round, friendly hosts, comfy beds, clean, warm, pub within walking distance and an amazing bay at the bottom of the road. Located in a beautiful farmland setting, we loved seeing the sheep peering over the fence and the hens running free. An added bonus was the relaxing bubbly hot tub for when the weather was good and the log burner for colder evenings. We would definitely book again.
Great place to stay. Awesome Views. The Meadowside Cottage was clean and cozy. The unexpected welcome package went down well. Who doesn't like Cream Tea, milk and cider drinks? The Hot Tub was wonderful even though the weather was chilly and windy. Meadowside is well located with just a 20 min walk down to the Harbour with a Pub on the way. Conveniently close to Penzance, St. Michael's Mount, St Ives, and Lands End. The Hosts were wonderful and friendly. They told us of things going on in the village. I would highly recommend Meadowside cottage. It was warm, clean, cozy with a great view. Thank you for a Great Holiday
Joanne
Had a wonderful stay at Meadowside cottage. Shame the weather wasnt the best but it was like a little Home away from home in the most beautiful idyllic countryside. The hot tub was an absolute luxury and heaven after a cold and wet day of walking. The only thing I would say, the weather was so bad with wind and rain and there was no shelter for the hot tub so made using it in that kind of weather difficult. The little welcome package was great and it was all enclosed for the little doggies so was safe and secure. The wonderful log burner made all the difference on those cold nights. The cottage had everything u needed. Would highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a wonderful, quite break away in the county side.
Great property and would stay again. Everything we needed was there. The hot tub added the extra bonus along with the beautiful location. Hosts were very welcoming, friendly but not intrusive. We had a very comfortable stay and would recommend the property to others.
Hi, thank you we had a lovely week in Meadowside. The cottage is lovely, and the girls enjoyed the facilities in 'the shed'. The honesty shop was also really useful, thank you. Time of year obviously, but we found as we didn't really plan the local pubs were difficult to get a table at but we managed. St Buryan Inn was very nice. Wondering if we will rebook!
Michelle
Meadowside is stunning. ..from the moment you arrive, turn the corner into Borah Farm to stunning views & homemade scones waiting for you. The barn has everything you need to relax & have a great time, we loved it so much. Its clean, comfortable & very relaxing. The owners are so friendly....the Son even allowed our Daughter a tractor ride which of course made her week! Expect a visit from their dogs, Coco came every day & chickens roam freely. The hot tub is lovely...just wish the cover wasnt so heavy but the owner is aware & plans to change it. Cannot wait to return next year. Thanks all x
We had a lovely stay at meadowside, its quiet, peaceful, the cottage has everything you need. The bed is super comfy. The hot tub was amazing we were in it every night. We will definetly be back. Thanks for having us.
A beautiful location with fabulous views across the countryside. Friendly hosts who made sure we had everything we needed and welcomed us with fresh scones and cream.
Fabulous property! Very pleased with the whole thing
Terence
We had the most enjoyable stay in Lamorna, We live locally and never really visit the west country. however, Meadowside was the most comfortable, peaceful, friendly place, watching the farm come to life, seeing the animals, feeing the lambs and of course Coco & Harvey...Would highly recommend this cottage and sykes cottages. Thanks Sue
Absolutely amazing cottage and amazing setting ,would definitely recommend and will definitely be back .
