Lapwing Cottage Reviews

The property was ideal for our situation. It was warm and had an excellent kitchen, with everything we needed. It was situated in a lovely place within a short walk to Budle beach. The views from there were breathtaking. Close to Bamburgh with its eateries and shops.
Teresa
We had a lovely time no doubt helped by the weather! The cottage was just what we wanted. Peaceful but not too far from the things we wanted to do. Hope you have a busy summer season.
Like to say what a lovely cottage we had great time staying here really comfortable beds witch so nice. Wish we could have stayed on bit longer. had everything you needed so nice throughout the Cottage lovely views for walks and for dogs so just like to say thank Grace you have beautiful cottage

We have spent a lovely week in Budle Bay. Lapwing Cottage is beautiful. Comfortable beds, great bathroom and shower, kitchen had everything we needed. We loved the tasteful decor and the wood burner created a very pleasant atmosphere. The location is superb a five minute walk to one of the best beaches in the world in my opinion!. Thank you Grace.
We LOVED our stay over Christmas this year. Easy to find, great instructions on how to get in etc and a really thoughtful welcome pack of local produce the beer and prosecco were also a huge hit! The property was lovely, so clean and so comfortable. It had the amenities we could wish for and it was perfectly adequate for us to cook Christmas dinner. There were instruction booklets left so we could work everything and there was a great welcome book to which had lots of information about the property and local area. Bamburgh was a 5min drive away and Seahouses 8mins where you find a local co op to replenish everything. The beach was a very short walk from the property, which was great on Christmas day. When we arrived there was space for our car but i would say that it would have been difficult if there had been two cars for the property but not the hosts fault at all! Similarly i do think it would be dangerous to walk on the roadside to Bamburgh in the winter months as it would be really dark on the way back again not the hosts fault so were looking forward to an early morning beach walk to the castle and back next time. Honestly, i couldnt recommend this cottage enough, we LOVED it and cant wait to come back.

We love Lapwing Cottage and have stayed in this lovely place quite a few times. It is spacious and warm and quiet perfect for us both and our dog Milou. Kitchen is well equipped. Beds comfy and bathroom perfect for a hot shower! Lovely walks from the door step and a bus stop outside. Check out The Ship Inn at Low Newton, butchers at Bamburgh and shops at Seahouses.
Such a beautiful cottage, and an amazing location, just a few hundred yards from the beach. We loved the walk along the coastal path to Bamburgh. Visited 3 castles in total, and what felt like several miles of sometimes deserted sandy beaches, including on Lindisfarne. Would recommend The Lord Crewe in Bamburgh. Food delicious and service excellent, but book because it doesn't seat masses, and it's popular. Also for supplies, it's easier to park up and use the coop at Belford than at Seahouses. Lapwing cottage was perfect. Spacious kitchendiner, and living area, and the wood burner was so easy to use. The shower was really powerful and lots of hot water. Loved the place and location so much that if I ever saw it on Rightmove then I'd be bidding to buy it! Needless to say we'll be booking to stay again.

This was a stunning property in a great location. It had a well equipped kitchen, beautiful bathroom and cosy bedrooms giving it a warm and inviting appeal after days out walking. I would certainly recommend this property as a comfortable base for your Northumberland adventure and I would certainly stay here again.

Really great or , Very well equipped and presented in a fantastic location I haven't elaborated I want you to go wow also when you walk in. .lovely garden to sit in for breakfast. Great walks right out side your door , a round walk to Bambrough is about 4 miles with world beating views . Would highly recommend. it was worth the 400 miles ish drive
A lovely comfortable cottage, ideally located to explore the stunning coastline.
Attractive and comfortable. Best thing was easy access to beach and fields with rabbits! which perfect for walking the dog. The only negative was the limited choice of TV programmes, bur we took the opportunity to hone our Scrabble skills.
Love this cottage and the beautiful area around it definitely will use again
Great place to stay in a good location. I would of liked the garden to of had a gate so our dog could wander freely. But that is just one negative in a lot of positives.
Nice cottage with good location on doorstep. Nicely converted overall. Little disappointed with there being no welcome pack that is usually the norm these days.
There was a problem with the boiler which Grace had resolved promptly. How ever we did notice that it did smell which was quite strong at times. Otherwise we loved the cottage and would stay there again and recommend.

Another fab' week in this great cottage.
Lapwing is a lovely cottage in an atmospheric location. It is exceptionally cosy for a deep winter stay the central heating responds to a flick of the thermostat and the woodburning fire is amply supplied not only with logs but also kindling, firelighters and matches. Very highly recommended.
Loved our stay so much we've booked again for March
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay everything we needed was supplied and of great quality.
Lapwing was, for us, perfect. It was very well appointed and in very good condition throughout, we were very comfortable, in fact we regretted not booking 2 weeks. I highly recommend Lapwing.
Lapwing is a wonderful holiday barn conversion. Friends visiting from the USA this year were struck by the elegance and comfort of our accommodation when compared to their own let. Feel free to book Lapwing Ive already reserved my weeks for next year.
Beautiful cottage and stylishly presented. Conveniently situated for exploring Northumberland. An out of the way location yet conveniences a short drive away.
Lapwing is a beautiful cottage and was agret base for exploring the area from.
Benita
A really great stay. Everything in the cottage was spot on, easy access to the bay and great for the dogs.
Matthew
We had a lovely stay at Lapwing Cottage. The cottage was in an ideal location for exploring the area. It was around 5 minutes drive from Bamburgh and located opposite Budle Bay which made for a stunning view. The property had everything we needed. It was a perfect size for our family. Beds were comfortable. It was clean and tidy. We couldnt find any fault with the property and would highly recommend it.
When we stayed previously it was just coming out of covid. So, I thought cleaning etc was difficult to keep up. This time the amount of dust, cobwebs and spiders was not what I expected. There was cobwebs on the table with lamp and cd player. I used the brush in cupboard to remove webs from bathroom, double bedroom, the webs were on the wall down to the headboard. There is a hoover that if used properly would remove unwanted dust webs. The rubber bath mat in the bath, was disgusting, black mould on the underneath. I know that the cottage as a septic tank, but there are natural products that can remove moulddirt from plastic shower surround and sealant. I know the change over is time critical. But by just leaving products on to work, doing other cleaning, then returning would make a difference.
Thanks for the lovely stay! The cottage is beautiful we loved the decor and furnishings and the garden! The location is also great with the beach being so nearby. The only slight problem was that the lock needs replacingmending on the front door but other than that it was spotless.
Matthew
We had a wonderful stay in Lapwing cottage for a week in July for context, we are a couple with two boys aged 10 & 14. The cottage is very nicely decorated, comfortable, quiet and welcoming. Everything we needed was provided and Grace was an excellent host fixing a small problem within a few hours. Highly recommended!
We had a lovely stay at Lapwing Cottage. It is comfortable and has everything you need for your stay. Very pretty part of the country.
We had a fantastic stay and the cottage was a perfect place to enjoy all the beauty of the area. Lapwing has everything you could wish for although we would suggest a soft broom in the store cupboard as we even on holiday like to clean up a little. Altogether Lapwing is a surprisingly large and accommodating place to stay and we would not hesitate to stay again.
Thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at Lapwing cottage. Everything is provided to make your stay the best it can be. Cottage is spacious, comfortable, and inviting. The log fire in recent weather's was very welcomed currently, some of the best value logs are available from the little independent food store in seahouses. The only thing I didn't realise from the pictures is that there is a road between the back of the property and where you get down to the beach I had imagined a field at the back of the house and then straight to the beach. Nonetheless, still enjoyed our stay immensely and will head back in the future. Thank you.
Smart, clean, comfortable and in a brilliant location. Great place to stay.
Lapwing is the perfect cottage for getting away from it all with easy access to the most beautiful beaches and near by location attractions. It has everything you need inside. I would recommend the cottage to everyone as it is very cosy and comfortable with everything you need for a lovely stay in Northumbria.
Great property ideally located for the coast and the expansive beaches.
