Grey Croft Reviews

Arthur
Excellent place to stay to explore the coast in particular. Extremely good accommodation. Very clean and well equipped. Plenty of space for 4 people. We would stay there again. Interesting walk from the cottages to the coast and beach.
We had an amazing stay at Grey Croft. The cottagebarn itself was beautifully done out with the most amazing sea views out of every window. We felt at home straight away. The onsite swimming pool was stunning, with large windows overlooking the sea. We used it for the full 5 slots over the week and we never tired of it. The grounds around the properties are kept immaculate. The house has the benefits of looking over the playground, so we were able to keep an eye on the kids at all times. It was a shame that we couldn't let the dog off the lead on the grass surrounding the cottage, but I appreciate why this is. It wasn't far to walk the dog over to the farm fields though, where he could get a good run. We looked to rebook on our first day, which goes to show how much we liked the place!
Leslie
We have stayed here a number of times. It is in a wonderful location with great views and a short walk across fields to the beach and a nature reserve. The cottages are well equipped and comfortable. There is also an excellent swimming pool on site for guests use.
This is the second time that we have stayed in a cottage at North Farm Cottages. The location is perfect and central for visits to Bamburgh, Lindisfarne, Craster and Alnwick. We also caught the train from Alnmouth to Edinburgh for the day. The site is lovely and quiet with amazing views across to Dunstanburgh Castle. This cottage was perfect with everything we needed for the week comfortable beds, log burner, lovely bathrooms and bread, butter, milk, biscuits and juice ready for when we arrived. We had a great week and will definitely be back.
Impressive accommodation clearly with a lot of thought given to the facilities provided and the design of the properties. An excellent holiday that was too short. We are already a week after returning home talking of going back for longer next year.
Cathrine
One of the best places we have ever stayed at for a week. Everything you need is in the cottage and the added extra of a swimming pool works perfectly. So many walks right on your doorstep. Lovely xx
Christine
The cottage was fine for my needs, with a comfortable bed and excellent bathrooms. My only small niggles are that there is nowhere in the main bedroom for unpacking nonhanging clothes, but I was able to use the 2nd bedroom as a wardrobe. The washing machine needed a good clean and there was no detergent supplied so I couldn't use it. The ceiling lighting is very harsh in the living room, but I managed by bringing the lamp in from the 2nd bedroom.
Stunning location, sea views from the cottage. Grey Croft is very spacious and comfortable, well thought out design. Fields straight out the door were perfect for our dog. We loved having the swimming pool for private slots during our stay. Also great to stay in a holiday let that has showers with good water pressure and a dishwasher and washing machine. We will be back!
Shirley
I always enjoy my holiday here and have never been disappointed
Lovely cottage in a wonderful location, everything that you need for a holiday break. The only comment we would like to make re our stay was that the double bed was too soft for our liking, other than that every thing else was perfect.
Lovely bungalow wonderful views, clean and comfortable. One or two suggestions, the bedrooms are lacking in wardrobe size and chest of draws for clothing, there was inadequate amount of oven cookware and the coat hooks sited in the hallway cupboard were not practical as wet coats would have dripped over the vacuum cleaner and ironing board. We enjoyed our week there and would love to return.
Robert
A stunning property to stay in. Lovely walks directly from the cottage. Easy and secure stroll into embleton Also great location to explore the coast of Northumberland. Without a doubt our best stay since visiting this lovely part of our country.
Lovely cottage. The location is superb, views of the sea, great walk to the nearest beach, perfect for spotting wildlife. Cant wait to return!
The rooms need somewhere to put small items, I was in the twin room and there was no where, the chair in there was pointless, a small chest of draws would be perfect. A swimming costume spinner in the changing room to take out the excess water would be good, apart from that it was lovely
Sadly I had major difficulties getting out of the pool my my mobility has obviously reduced since my last time swimming but the pool was wonderful and I thoroughly enjoyed my oned visit. I did not dare try again. The property was wonderful especially the log fire but the things you left for us were of no use due to food allergies, lactose intolerance, but the thought was appreciated.
Amazing cottage right on the coast. Lovely walk down to the beach. Right on coastal path. Lovely swimming pool a huge bonus. Cant wait to come again.

3rd year staying and last 2 stays perfect. This time we had 2 power cuts leaving us completely in the dark literally from 17.00 until 09.10 next day. With 1 child aged 2 years who was hysterical and scared and cold no visit from management came. Food in freezer was thrown out and also partially cooked dinner that was being prepared. 2nd power cut was shorter and still no visit from the owners who live on site. Outside power box had no front cover and dangerous. Toaster was only working if an adult held down the sides. Very disappointing holiday and more expensive than we planned due to having to stock up freezer again
Leslie
Very good quality accommodation in a great location . View of the coast and Dunstanburgh Castle. A short walk to the beach and the village. From a personal perspective I loved the onsite pool as am a keen swimmer, it was immaculate a decent size and beautiful views Welcome pack and dog treats greatly appreciated. We loved it and have already booked again.
The house in great condition. The bedrooms were small and lacked storage. The kitchen need more cutlery and crockery etc to make use if the dishwasher. Kitchen utensilsknives and forks are too weak and not strong enough. Great fire. Proximity to coast fantastic. Arriving in the dark there is insufficient lighting and parking near the house. Swimming pool a great addition to the property and was well used. A great holiday. Thanks.
Veronica
Lovely cottage with spacious rooms and amazing shower facilities. Comfortable beds and good storage. Once furnishings too
Catherine
A great place to stay. Cosy and comfortable with fantastic views. Very spacious. The wood burner is a great asset and was prepared for us for our first night. We appreciated the food starter pack too. And the extras for our dog were good. Enjoyed several swims in the private pool which was very clean and warm. Very happy and will return.
Shirley
Lovely property. Good location and central for many tourist attractions. It was a nice touch to have tea, milk, bread and butter etc for when we arrived. All our needs catered for.
Really enjoyable holiday, excellent accommodation, superb pool, fantastic views, amazing walks, close to local amenities, friendly helpful staff. Thoroughly Recommend
Deborah
Fabulous place, will definitely book another stay. Beautifully maintained and comfortable, warm and cozy. I really appreciated the the provisions that were waiting for me after my long drive, milk, juice, bread, butter, tea and coffee, even some biscuits to go with the coffee. I booked on the spur of the moment as a break from a hectic home life it and fulfilled all my expectations. The local area is stunning with plenty to do like coast walks, beaches, castles, historic towns, harbours, boat trips not to mention the hills and moorland. I didn't use the pool as I forgot to bring my swimsuit! Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and left feeling reset and energised.
Excellent accommodation
Geoffrey
Probably one of the best cottages we have stayed at. The owners had thought of everything. The location for exploring the coast and for walking was great. Would have no hesitation in recommending the property to anyone.
Felicity
The cottage is fantastic and being limited mobility very easy to get around, the holiday was great and we have booked again for September. Thank you to you all .highly recommend beautiful views and very clean. We have been going to north farm for many years
We have been visiting North Farm for 15 years now, on our own and with friends. We have stayed in four of the houses on North Farm and they are all of a consistent quality, all perfectly presented. The pool is a huge plus and we always use it.
Hannah
Thank you for our stay we really enjoyed it. Our little boy loved the pool and the pond on site. We really liked that the pool was exclusive use and you could choose a time slot that suited. Facilities were great location perfect. Wed love to come back only a few things that could do with changing a new washing machine is definitely needed or a really good clean it was unusable! It would also be really useful to have some shelves in the bedrooms and bathrooms for storage when unpacking. I also think a couple more lamps in the living area would be nicer so the evenings feel cosier rather than having to have the really bright overhead lights on. Overall a brilliant stay!!!!
Rebecca
Beautiful area, very comfortable and well appointed cottage. We had a lovely and reenergising holiday and the swimming pool was great addition to holiday activities.
Christopher
Clean, modern and spacious. A super location and the swimming pool was an amazing bonus.
Felicity

Alasdair
Grey Croft is a modern, comfortable and cosy cottage which is very well located a short walk from Embleton. We would be happy to stay there again.
Lauren
The accommodation was brilliant well equipped and bright. The access to the pool was great as it was for our sole use at times. Although the Cottages were all full you did not feel overwhelmed by people. The playground was a welcome addition for the youngest member of the party.
Kirsty
Stunning location, well equipped cottage and great space to spend time as a ... Stunning location, well equipped cottage and great space to spend time as a family and base to explore the lovely Northumberland
Jonathan
Beautiful place for the whole family
We had a really lovely holiday in this beautiful cottage but would point out that the beach is more than a ten minute walk away at least 20 minutes and probably longer with small children, and the swimming pool was only available to us on 3 days out of the seven with an allocated time slot of one and a half hours. Also, the double bed was extremely firm, not 'soft' as stated in your description!
Richard
Had a brilliant time in an excellent cottage. Weather was out of this world. Beach was excellent. Overall had a really enjoyable time. Could not be bettered anywhere in the world.
