Cwrt Y Wennol, Salem

We were delighted that we chose Cwrt y Wennol to stay in for our first visit to Wales. The property is spacious and beautifully presented. You have the luxury of staying in the wonderful countryside whilst being able to visit lots of places only a short drive away. Would highly recommend. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Cwrt y Wennol is a beautifully converted barn. The accommodation is spacious, spotlessly clean, comfortable and well equipped. The surrounding area is quiet and peaceful. So nice to see the horses and rabbits in the field. The owners are very friendly and helpful. We would have no hesitation in recommending to family and friends, and we hope to return.

About as close to the perfect stay as it's possible to get the property was even better than the pictures show and they're already pretty good! . Absolutely spotless on arrival with fresh daffodils waiting for us & the lovely horses in the courtyard really helped make our stay memorable. There were so many nice, personal touches that were totally unexpected and really made us feel welcome. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a stay here thanks again for being such great hosts!

This was our second stay and it was as welcoming and comfortable as the first. When we had car issues, the help and kindness we received from the hosts was amazing. We would highly recommend staying at Cwrt y Wennol and plan to go back again soon.

Beautifully presented accommodation situated conveniently for exploring the Gower peninsula and Brecon Beacons . Very well equipped with adequate space for 6 guests. The welcome pack was very much appreciated. Would definitely recommend.

Its unusual to find a holiday property that exceeds the pictures that advertise it, we were so blessed.

Such a lovely converted barn with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Seeing the horses every day was an added bonus. Will definitely be using again

Cwrt Y Wennol is a high quality property with good space and facilities, located in a quiet rural area with easy road access to Swansea, M4, Gower, etc. . We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others. The hosts were welcoming and helpful, and kindly permitted us to host a family gathering for a day being openplan this barn conversion was perfect for that. One of our number used mobility aids, so having flat access into and throughout was great just one bedroom upstairs. Thank you!

We had a super stay. Lovely to have some items included such as oil condiments cleaning products dishwasher tabs soap etc. Lovely area of the countryside and great location to get in and out of the city.

A very welcoming touch, with flowers and a gift of tea and biscuits. Logs in the basket. Beds beautifully made. Clean, tidy what more could you ask for. Plus horses to stroke!!

This is a beautiful property in a lovely setting. The barn is well equipped and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It is tastefully decorated and very spacious.The owners provided a cot and high chair for our granddaughter and there are toys, books and puzzles including books for the adults. Nice little touches made us feel very welcome fresh flowers, tea, milk and wonderful Welsh cakes were waiting for us and the owners came in person to say hello, offer help via telephone if required and to wish us a safe journey home at the end of the stay. Definitely somewhere we want to visit again in the future.

The converted barn was lovely and very comfortable set in beautiful countryside. The barn is set in it's own grounds with fields at the rear containing a couple of the owners horses. I met two of the Higgins family and both were welcoming and very helpful. Swansea was a short drive away with easy access to the M4 if you wanted to drive further afield. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Lovely cottage. The horses were super friendly and the girls loved them! Great quiet location, convenient and close to Swansea and other near by towns. Only downside was being unable shut out the light and noise from downstairs but if you dont have noisy teenagers with you this wouldnt be a problem at all. Very clean and well kept. Could do with a pair of tongs for the kitchen but otherwise well equipped with some nice little treats on arrival.

As, I'm disabled I struggled with the bathroom being the opposite end of the building from the bedrooms, also the steep slope from the hallway and bathrooms to the kitchen and lounge bedroom .

The property was a lovely barn conversion with all the facilities required for a holiday in the Swansea area. Geraint was a friendly and welcoming owner and even advised us of a local road closure on the last day. Five stars from me.

We loved our stay in Cwrt y Wennol. Our 12 year old daughter said its the best place shes stayed a great nights sleep. Set in the countryside but not too far from the tourist hotspots. All the comforts from home and lovely log stove. The horses neighbours were an added bonus. We would definitely stay here again.Thank you.

Lovely cottage

What a beautiful property. My son and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The highlight was greeting the horses every day, they were a delight. The owner was so helpful in every aspect. The property is spacious, clean and comfortable. The beds were particularly cosy. Plenty of equipment to cook for yourself but places close by if you wanted to eat out. It was perfect weather for the wood burning stove which was easy to light. We wish wed found this place sooner as we visit the area yearly. It was easy to get into Swansea, the Gower, Cardiff yet you felt you were in the countryside. A lovely place.

A beautiful barn conversion under an hour's drive from the delights of the Gower. One drawback we encountered staying as a family group was that the openplan nature of the upstairs king bedroom meant that noise from the late birds kept the early to bedders awake! A few more hooks to hang towels etc. in the bedrooms would have also been nice but otherwise, a very wellappointed holiday home.

This is our second visit to Cwrt y Wennol and we all had a very enjoyable stay. .the property has all the home comforts and is very spacious. A lovely addition is the horses which the children loved to see. The property is within reasonable distance to visit all the lovely surrounding places well worth a visit.

Love, love, love! The cottage was absolutely stunning, the listing didn't actually do it justice. On arrival there were the necessary basics to have a brew after a long drive, plus some extra treats too. Everything was set up as asked, it was cosy and comfortable. Would recommend anyone wanting to do a bit of stargazing, the view over the fields from the upstairs balcony is stunning both night and day. Sandy and Ben are quite honestly the friendliest horses ever, was a real pleasure to go out and spend time with them in a morning. Close enough to amenities but definitely a rural location for some well needed R & R. The Internet isn't fantastic but that wasn't an issue for us and is beyond the owners control due to the upcoming PSTN switch off, it's a good feeling doing a technology detox overall for us it was absolutely perfect. Another lovely little touch which we discovered as we were leaving was the dresser full of books which the owners have left for people to take away if they wish. Have every intention of returning to this little piece of heaven. Thank you to the Higgins family for sharing this beautiful property.

We had a fantastic relaxing stay at the barn. It was such a quiet and comfortable place to stay, but close enough to lots of lovely Gower beaches, the Lliw Reservoirs and Pengealler Valley for days out. Geraint asked us to contact him for help with anything that we needed but there was nothing that could have made this holiday more perfect.

A splendid cottage in every respect. The hosts were wonderful and very helpful. Our son and ourselves enjoyed finding local footpaths and visiting most of the beaches on the Gower fully supported by the wealth of local literature provided by our friendly hosts. We return home refreshed but with the definite intention to return here again. Alan

Lovely, warm, comfortable cottage in a quiet location. Friendly owners. A great location for visiting the Gower and Bannau Brycheiniog. The owners' directions are really helpful unlike satnav.

A well designed cottage with a high end finish in beautiful surroundings. Lovely Welsh welcoming gift when we arrived. We especially enjoyed seeing the horses going out to field and back. A very comfortable and cosy stay with everything that we needed. A great layout for the family especially with separate toilet. Could benefit from hand rails in shower for people with needs The property had some activities for the children to use. Ideally situated for visiting the Swansea area.
