Bilsham Meadows Reviews

Joanne
The house is beautiful and was perfect for us. We will be back. However, we do have a few suggestions to make it even better. Hand towels provided for the bedrooms downstairs. Only bath towels were provided. More ttowels to be provided. More baking trays. More hanging areas in the bedrooms. The one upstairs really needs another hanging rail or wardrobe and thats the same for some of the other bedrooms.
Claire
The property is just like the listing, unlike some other places weve been to in the past. Amazing property and suited our needs perfectly. It was lovely seeing the cows each day, which went down a treat with the little ones. We stayed from the Wednesday until the Sunday and couldnt have found a better place. There were 9 of us 3 generations and were there to celebrate a family members 30th Birthday. The hot tub was checked by the owners each morning of our stay. Fab location for Bristol and Bath, as we visited both during our stay. Would highly recommend this property and we would certainly go back there again.
Michelle
The accommodation is beautiful and in a wonderful setting. Sadly, we were advised incorrectly on the make of coffee machine before we arrived meaning the pods that we had purchased could not be used. The cleanliness of the property on arrival was the biggest issue for us, very inappropriate items were left within the property for a family holiday and the telephone number supplied for contact was never answered!
Victoria
A perfect place to stay for our group of 10 ladies who wanted a weekend of catching up and kicking back. The spacious property allowed us to all be together comfortably. Very comfortable beds, well supplied kitchen lovely outside area. We'd recommend Bilsham Meadows to anyone wanting a peaceful place to stay. We loved it so much we are planning on returning next year.
Christine
Fantastic accommodation for our group of nine. Great facilities and fabulous livingdiningkitchen area for us all. The hot tub was also great nd well used. Would strongly recommend and would booked again.
Alison
Everything was fabulous only the weather let it down just a tiny bit
We absolutely loved this property, it was extremely well equipped and catered for all our needs as a large family. The property was even bigger than we expected and the outside area gave the children the freedom to play. The property was very clean with lovely extra touches, bedrooms were very comfortable with super decor. We loved spending time sitting at grand breakfast bar as a family just looking out over the countryside. With 2 fridges, a freezer and a drinks fridge we were able to shop once for our stay without the stress of daily supermarket shopping with lots of children. The commuting distance to Bristol city was quick and easy and we would definitely visit again and recommend the accommodation to all our friends.
Alison Rose
A beautiful location, facilities in the barn excellent. Pub and shop not as easily accessed as described, but easy to drive to. Owners very helpful. It was a pleasure to stay there.
The house was perfect for our weekend away! Everything to a really high standard and plenty of space, the BBQ and hot tub areas were particular favourites! Exactly what we were looking for and everyone in the group was very impressed!
Lauran
Absolutely loved it and had everything we wanted! ! Beautiful scenery. The only thing we were missing was tea towels!!
This is our of this world, it is very plush 5 stars in every way. The property is excellent in design very welcoming, plenty of space, bedrooms and furnishings are top quality the property has everything you need to enjoy your break. The outdoor space is good with seating area and hot tub, I would recommend to others it was well worth the money
Bonnie
Very beautiful property. Our family always look out for a communal space and this was perfect for it. All bedrooms were very spacious and comfortable too. We had an issue with the hot tub not getting past a certain temperature and someone came out the same day at nighttime. We all enjoyed our stay and would recommend .
Elizabeth
A great place for large group of people. Enough space to have privacy, or quiet if wanted but also the layout allows you to all be together comfortably and whilst cooking etc. Lovely sunny garden and large hot tub. Facilities are high spec. Everything is thought of.
As we were asked to keep the property clean, it would have been useful to have had some cleaning products provided, just some cleaner for the sinks would have been useful. Otherwise the property was well equipped and very comfortable. We celebrated a late christmas with friends and we were able to cook a full christmas lunch. Our 10 month old grandson was very interested in the cows!
Would firstly like to say that we all had a really good time and enjoyed your hospitality at the property. A couple things that would have improved our stay. With 8 adults & 2 children we found the fridge space was not adequate, especially for a Christmas week. It was not easy to control and regulate the heating temperature throughout the house. I text and spoke to the house caretaker to confirm that we wanted all the beds as doubles, kings & superkings. On arrival 2 of the rooms were set up as twins which we had to change to doubles. The volume on the television sound bar was not very good and for most programs we had to set it at 100 to be able to hear it.
This was a 5star holiday home. I couldn't fault it. It had everything you need for a relaxing stay. The accommodation was so socially friendly when there are a large group staying.
We were delighted with our stay at Bilsham meadows, however there are a couple of things that I would like to raise the telephone number given to contact the owner about bed configuration was to the cleaning agency responsible for the property. I tried texting and ringing numerous times, eventually getting through only a couple of days before our break. The chap seemed a little puzzled as to why I was speaking to him but the beds were sorted. He did mention that it might explain why he got random messages about the WiFi not working and that he never actioned these when we got to the property as expected the WiFi wasnt working and the router password provided in the instruction book bore no resemblance to the kit. Because of my previous conversation and because we were only staying two nights I didnt pursue this further.
Lovely spacious house and garden.
Danielle
This place is so beautiful. There were 9 of us staying plus 2 kids and it was perfect. The open space was great for everyone and kitchen island was such a perfect touch for the social aspect of the stay. The kitchen was the most stocked kitchen wed stayed in, it had everything you needed. The beds were all really comfy and the pillows were nice and big too. The only problem we had was that the WiFi wasnt working. We did try and get in contact with the owners to get it sorted but we had no reply. It didnt ruin the stay but it would have been handy to have it.
Jackie
We had a lovely stay here and the property had everything you needed. Would definitely recommend this property to anyone.
Beautiful property and in peaceful and relaxing setting. The cottage was well equipped and had plenty of space for our family group of 8. Lovely garden to enjoy on a summer evening. The only thing that I would recommend is that they invest in some curtains for the bedrooms. We were all away very early due to the sunshine through the thin blinds.
Sheila
We stayed here as a family of 4 generations and we all thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The conversion has been done using good quality materials and with great care. The beds were comfortable and in general the place was very well equipped. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub. Our garden overlooked a field in which there were cattle and ,as Londoners, this was an added bonus. A fantastic place to stay, highly recommended.
We had a fantastic couple of days at the property celebrating our daughters 30th birthday with all the family 8 adults, 2 toddlers and 2 babies. The layout was perfect for our large group with plenty of safe outdoor space and a great outdoor seating area plus the hot tub. The beds were comfortable with quality pillows and duvets. We were very impressed by how well equipped the kitchen was, with lots of crockery and cutlery for any occasion. I would definitely recommend this to friends
Joanna
The property is absolutely stunning and in such a wonderful location. We enjoyed our stay so much that we have to booked to come again next year. Thanks for making our weekend so special.
Bethany
Really beautiful accommodation perfect for our getaway. It was well facilitated with everything you could possibly need for cooking for a large group. The hot tub was brilliant, the information provided was helpful and the owner was communicative up until we first arrived. We noted that a couple of the bedrooms were not cleaned thoroughly marks on the carpet and evidence of not being hoovered properly around the bed. Otherwise it was clean. Only other issue we had was requested the beds to be split a week in advance and this was not done. We notified the owners and they assured us that the request was made. There was no spare bedding for us to separate ourselves so the two members of our group with sleep issues did struggle. Overall a very pleasant stay. We would all highly recommend. Thank you for a great weekend.
We really enjoyed this house and would recommend it to anyone. There were nine of us for the first weekend and then my wife and I stayed on for the next four days. It was warm and comfortable. Just two things, small, there were no serving table spoons in the kitchen. And, like many other self catering homes and hotels bedrooms need chairs to pu clothes on when taking them off at night.
No complaints absolutely beautiful property
Joanne
We had a fantastic stay thankyou. The property is finished to a high standard and was warm and comfy. Showers were hot and easy to use. We had a good soak in the hot tub with it's pretty fairy lights. Just a few basics would have made our stay even better some flat baking trays, salt, and washing up liquid not everything fitted in the dishwasher. We loved seeing the cattle in the shed they were so quiet! We also spotted a fox and a white egret. We would definitely recommend Bilsham Meadows as a good place to stay for a large group.
Daniel
Excellent stay in a lovely property ideal for groups. Large space and comfy rooms.
Jessica
We originally made this booking for the summer, but due to my partner being diagnosed with cancer and another member of the partner donating her kidney to husband we wanted to cancel. The owner completely refused to give us a refund. This forced us to not only rearrange but also pay extra for the new date. There was absolutely no basic humanity or compassion for our situation, I even offered to provide evidence. Once we arrived at the cottage it was freezing. The owners were unreachable that evening, so it was not a great first night and we barely slept. The owners did arrive the next day, but all they offered were blow heaters which made minimal difference. The owners also mentioned a sensor was gone and someone was coming to fix it, this clearly indicated they were aware of the issue. Despite this gave no prior warning or provide the heaters in the first place. The cottage itself is beautiful and was very clean. I feel this cottage is completely let down by its owners, we were forced to rebook and then our already tainted stay was further ruined by the cold. For the cost to stay here, and the refusal to allow a refund we expected a lot better.
This property is exceptional. The building and its surroundings are lovely and it was the perfect space for our family of 9 people to spend Christmas. The kitchen was so well stocked we cooked our Christmas lunch here and had everything we needed, and more. The rooms were warm and the beds were very comfortable. Thank you for making this such a memorable Christmas for us. We couldnt have asked for more.
Fantastic property and absolutely no criticisms. Very comfortable and warm and we loved the hot tub.
Michelle
Only one issue. For 10 people the fridge is too small. There was not enough room for us 10 girls to put our food and drink in for 3 days. But an amazing place.
Shanice
Amazing long weekend! Great locationstunning propertyQuietEasily accessible to other parts of Bristol. Would recommend to anybody! Happy to return in the future.
An absolutely amazing propertydefinitely has the wow factor. Bedrooms are all to a high standard with fresh towels provided and comfy beds. Bathrooms were amazing and top notch qualityloved the lights on the sinks as you walked in
Beautiful house with everything we needed for our weekend! Loved the open plan living and the hot tub. Watching the sun rise from the hot tub was a particular highlight. The master suite definitely had the wow factor, and we would definitely come back again!
F Charles
Lovely place. Quality furnishings and equipment. Bit too open plan for us. Charles
Nicola
Beautiful property, built and furnished to a very high standard. Excellently equipped with large groups in mind. Perfect for our group of 5 couples, not often you get 5 double beds in a property.
Belinda
Beautiful accommodation and easy to find. Thank you very much.
Veronica
Beautiful property, lovely and warm. Bedding quality excellent , and also the towels that were sumptuous. Easy to find and gain access. Gardens planted and looking lovely already. Bed configuration instructions were followed up and perfect thank you . Hot tub was lovely for those who used it and plenty of blanket and outdoor towels. However , it was disappointing that there were obviously insufficient hand towels for the party which I did report the day we arrived but no more were forthcoming. Some of the kitchen equipment was not cleaned properly lips marks on glasses, custard on jugs, mugs discolored. This could be because of the frugal supply of dishwasher tablets provided, a couple more would have been appreciated. I cannot understand why cake forks are provided but no tea towels ?? Essential if you cannot always use the dishwasher. From a health and safety aspect , no oven gloves is an oversight and accident waiting to happen with no tea towels either to substitute. Another suggestion, with two people occupying the rooms, there really is not sufficient hanging space and most rooms could easily accommodate a decent wardrobe. There was also lots of detritus under the settees and under some of the beds. The Ironing board was broken with a note left on it from previous occupants when we arrived and not sure why that had been left ? Overall ,we would have no hesitation to book again as hopefully, these are only teething problems in a new property and maybe a little tightening up on the cleaning service
