Barn Cottage Reviews

A lovely cottage. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The perfect location to explore the Lake District not far from Bassenthwaite Lake in a lovely rural setting.
Pieter
Briljant location from where to make daytrips. Unfortunately not to the distillery, which was closed for public. Nice fire place The garden is somewhat underexposed in the ad. It is a lovely spot to sit in the late afternoon. A bit of maintenance could provide a better view of the stunning landscape We noticed the refrigerator was not clean on arrival. The rest of the house was spotless
The cottage was fully equipped and comfortable, situated in a fantastic area of the Lake District.
Such a great cottage with easy access to lake bassenthwaite via footpath or car! Loved our stay and the cottage was well equipped and nicely finished.
Cottage was very clean, tidy and well equipped but rather cramped for four adults. We found the double bed upstairs too soft for our liking and relatively narrow. The freezer door of the fridge was broken so fell off every time the fridge was opened which was annoying.
Thank you for the lovely stay at the cottage! we felt right at home and had a great holiday exploring the Lake District.
We enjoined a wonderful week at the cottage. A great time in the Lake District our third holiday since 2022. I enjoyed the local walk. The cottage is lovely after day out. Than you.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was immaculate and very cosy, with everything we needed. Thank you very much.
A great place to spend a relaxing week. cottage is in a lovely quite situation. The Lakes never stop giving surprises. we will be back, thanks to our son for enjoying us what a lovely treat for my 81st Birthday.
A fantastically lovely cottage to chill for a week. we've had a great time exploring and relaxing. Thank you.

On arrival, settee covered in fluff, floor area near sink dirty. Cupboard with SPARE items was empty apart from hair drier so no spare toilet paper. I object to be asked to replace the spare roll for next guests surely owners responsibility to equip cottage. Despite previous guest comment about mop & bucket in wardrobe it was still there! For a 4 person cottage sad lack of coat hangers, none in mop wardrobe. No kitchen roll. Many cottages have welcome tray but here no milk, teabags, coffee etc, would have been nice gesture for those arriving after long journey.
Very comfortable and extremely well appointed rolling pin, sieve, quality saucepans things often not found in holiday cottages. Lovely little garden out the back, comfortable furniture, everything worked. Couldnt fault it.

All in all a great experience!

Cottage was excellent and location ,albeit very rural, was idyllic. and within 15 mins drive of Keswick. The cottage is equipped to a very high standard. The only thing that could improve this cottage would be an upstairs WC. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our time here and will definitely return. Highly recommended.
Christine
The cottage was generally clean but there were a lot of cobwebs.
Well appointed property. A couple of observations Cracked mug & chipped glass on arrival . Electric socket to left of hob hanging loose needs urgent attention. The dining chairs drove us mad . Previous occupants raised this issue . You can't move them without creating a screeching din so loud it made next door's dog bark . Even with foot thick walls . Please sort.

Everything was first class apart from the grating of the chairs when they moved on the floor. This could be easily rectified by fitting some felt or something to the bottom of the chairs. On the whole a very well appointed and comfortable cottage. One other minor detail. Whilst the kettle worked perfectly well one part of the lid had fallen into the kettle. It was like this when we arrived..
The location of the cottage is excellent. It is very convenient for lake access. The standard of the accommodation is high.
Warren
This is a lovely cosy cottage in a very quiet location. It is very well equipped with excellent facilities and quality fixtures. Within easy access to Keswick and all that the Northern Lakes has to offer. We spent a really enjoyable week here, made even better with cloud free summits and sunny afternoon walks round the beautiful Derwentwater.
Cozy cottage in perfect situation for the beautiful lakes and fells. Easy road links. Nicely furnished and quality kitchen and tableware. Cant wait to go back and gutted to find it booked out until October!
Great location very accessible and yet felt wonderfully rural. Perfect size cottage for our family very well appointed and equipped.
The cottage was so fresh and clean. The location was perfect for us as we were doing the Coledale 10 and starting from Braithwaite which is just a few miles away. We also adored the little garden and enjoyed looking out over the fields of sheep and cows. We'd definitely book again. Thank you
