The Olde Cowshed Reviews

The accommodation and hot tub were excellent and very clean. The kitchen was well equipped and the mulled wine and mince pies, on arrival, were welcome after a long drive. The games room was a definite bonus although a bit chilly as heating not working, the tabletennis soon warmed us up tho. The company contacted us before the date and confirmed everything for us on arrival. The walks and villages closeby were amazing and we will be hoping to return in the summer months. The second bedroomen suite was a little cramped but didnt spoil our holiday. A great time
Very beautiful building set in a very beautiful quiet location with fabulous walks. The extra facilities with the pool table and table tennis was such a lovely bonus Thanks for having us
Richard
Cottage was very comfortable and well equipped. Hot Tub was great to have and used daily. Small gym and games room available. Plenty of things to do in the area. The sculpture park at Oswestry was fantastic, any kids will love it. The Pound was great food at reasonable prices, and open all day12 miles.
Inside lots of cobwebs, paint peeling on the outside windows and doors and the water out of hot tap very dangerous as it was burning hot, when water running in either bathroom the pipes were very noisy, the ground floor bathroom tap was so stiff it was had to operate and get a reasonable flow of water, the pillows in both bedrooms were flat and not supporting, in the kitchen it really needs a larger cafetire if there is more than one person staying, patio furniture needed some TLC and could have done with a wash down to get rid of all the cobwebs with dead flies attached. Hot tub was excellent, and hot shower outside a very nice touch.
We stayed at this beautiful lodge over the weekend for my partners birthday, and it was absolutely perfect such a lovely getaway! From the moment we arrived, everything felt so welcoming and thoughtful. The little touches like the cake, wine, and chocolate that were left for us really made it feel extra special and were so appreciated. The lodge itself was spotless, cozy, and wellequipped, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The hot tub was amazing warm, clean, and the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. We had such a wonderful time and would definitely go again. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing escape or a special place to celebrate! The Olde Cow Shed
Very clean, great setting, good price recommend
We had a lovely stay in January. Cottage was generously equipped, very warm and spotlessly clean. Some great walks from the doorstep but if you are there in the winter be ready for plenty of mud on the footpaths but there are outdoor taps and hosepipes for cleaning dogs and boots!

We had a lovely stay at the Olde Cowshed, the property suited us well and was well presented, tidy and nice to have cake, wine and a few essentials available on arrival. The call a few days before from Chloe to give us key information and particularly to give us a heads up about the recent flooding in the area was great. The area is very nice very rural and quiet though will depend a bit on how busy the surrounding cottages are!, and some nice walks along the nearby ridge and other paths. There were signs the cottage is well used, in that a few things were wornbroken or loose and could use attention the bits I noted were One of cafetieres has the wrong lid for the body, so wont work Lots of loose fixtures, e.g. glass holders, towel holders in bathrooms Missingbroken stairgate wall fixings upstairs and one missing downstairs Loose screws under both small coffee tables resulting in wobbly legs Corkscrew broken and close to unusable All the essentials were in good order though, so none of the above greatly affected our stay.
Lovely property and very well stocked with items you need. Having a washing machine was an added bonus. The home made cake and wine was a lovely touch and very much appreciated. Hot tub was amazing. The walks and views were lovely.
Very comfortable and well equipped cottage. Main bedroom and bathroom upstairs was very impressive.
All was pretty much as expected and we have used Sykes numerous times so have trust with the name and quality of accommodation and will continue to do so. A few things fall outside of Sykes' control. One being noisy neighbours! They had a riot in the first proper sunshine of the year which kind of ruined our hot tub quiet until they left on the Monday. Also they parked in the Cowshed allocated parking spot. We parked elsewhere but it was inconsiderate for my 87 year old father. Note the lanes are a bit precarious for nervous or impatient drivers. It was difficult adhering to keeping the dog off furniture and downstairs. There's a door to stop him going upstairs which we managed but off furniture during the night would be impossible as its openplan. Hence we always travel with throws to amply cover a small area of a sofa and protect it well. We move cushions to stop him jumping on elsewhere. This works when we can't watch him. We thankfully gave my recently widowed father a great holiday. The ground floor facilities suited him we visited so many places and all had a holiday to remember.

Everything about our stay was great the cottage was lovely, in a great location and had everything we needed and was spotlessly clean. The manager was really helpful and replied to queries super fast. Highly recommended!
Hi, thank you for a lovely stay. The property was clean and comfortable and ideally situated in a very quiet rural location. Excellent heating system, which we actually had to turn down!
We had a great stay in the Olde Cow Shed, the wine, chocolates and homemade cake on arrival were a lovely touch. My daughter said it was the nicest cake she'd ever had! The property was bigger than I was expecting, lots of room for just the 3 of us and lots of outdoor space too, with the added bonus of the hot tub. The property was spotless and had everything we needed. It was great location for a Shropshire base, we visited Shrewsbury, Ludlow, Iron Bridge and Oswestry...all beautiful places. I would definately recommned staying here to anyone.

Had a lovely week accommodation was lovely. Welcome pack was was great didnt realise how isolated it was .The roads could be scary very narrow and bendy was glad I didnt have to drive .
Lovely stay in lovely location. Property was perfect and welcome pack greatly appreciated. Will be back.
Robert
There were 4 adults in our party, which despite this accommodation not being very spacious on the ground floor, only presented an issue in the kitchen, where 2 was pretty much the limit. Everywhere was very clean and well equipped. It was nice having a games room where we played table tennis the table badly need a new net, pool 50p per play, and table air hockey the table is very tired. I recommend taking your own table tennis equipment though, as the supplied equipment was extremely basic. The hot tub was great, but for some reason would not allow us to set a temperature over 37 degrees, but as the weather was sunny during our stay, wasn't an issue. There really isn't an views from the property, unless you look over the roofs from the 1st floor, as it is surrounded by large farm buildings. But if it is peace and quiet you seek, you'll get it here.
Thomas
We loved the cottage and the location, it was a real good relaxing holiday that we all enjoyed. It was central to many areas of Shropshire, which befitted our daily routine. Thank you.
Fantastic stay our second visit great surroundings very peaceful n relaxing. Hot tub a added bonus, very helpful staff nothing to much for them. Very welcoming touch with wine n cake left. Highly recommended.
Had a lovely stay, everything that we needed was there. Very comfortable and the hot tub was great.
Deborah
Amazing property in a great location, so easy to get to Ludlow, Shrewsbury and sone beautiful local villages. The property was perfect, loved the hot tub. Will most definitely be returning!
Lovely property, great area. Well equipped and nice touches, eg. cake, wine, chocolate. Spotless on arrival, everything working as it should. Only slight minus was the lack of a smart TV but we borrowed some DVDs from the games room. Had a lovely stay, would recommend.
Amanda
The cottage was clean, comfortable, spacious and had a well equipped kitchen. Dishwasher tablets were provided by the owner and there were plenty of them for our weeks stay. There was also a large Games room on site which we used once during our stay. You will need 50p's to use the pool table. The cottage is in a very peaceful location. There are other cottages available on the same site which would be useful if booking a family get together.
Beautiful property the owners have thought of everything their guests might need even down to cling film! We had an amazing few days relaxing, I can't praise this place enough. The lady who came everyday to check on the hot tub was very helpful and friendly and I can't wait to go back. Highly recommended
Melanie
We have just returned from a 3 night stay in th Olde Cow Shed. The accommodation was wonderful. It was well designed, spacious, well equipped, spotlessly clean and the location perfect. We had a lovely time walking in the hills and the local area. To come home to a soak in a hot tub to ease aching muscles was the icing on cake. It was all absolutely perfect and we would really like to visit again!!
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL perfect holiday! So clean and lovely accommodation. Made perfect with the shared games room note to others take 50p lots of them to play pool and then topped with the cherry on top of the cake that they now have a hot tub! Honestly just what we needed lovely and quiet nice relaxed time away. Thankyou so so much
Beautiful place very cosy and warm cant fault it
The cottage was so lovely, warm & cosy We had a fabulous stay there in beautiful surroundings! We particularly enjoyed the museum in Craven Arms called The Land of Lost Content well worth a visit if you want a reminder of days gone by!! The complimentary wine & delicious cake along with all the other basics were a lovely touch too!! We would definitely book to come again.
The owners left us a bottle of wine , a homemade cake, a bar of chocolate and milk in the fridge it was so thoughtful.
Kathleen

The cottage was lovely and comfortable in a super location.
Great venue. Lots of room for 4. Well managed by friendly people. Would recommend.
Beautiful cottage in beautiful surroundings. Just what was needed to get away from the stresses and strains of city life.
The Old Cowshed looked very interesting on the details in fact it exceeded expectations. Very comfortable and clean with a lot of thought having gone into the whole setup. We did feel it was somewhat isolated and may have been a small problem if the weather had been bad which it was not!. Also the TV reception was very poor but did not spoil the very enjoyable stay Thank you.
Hannah
A beautiful cottage in a very peaceful location. Perfect for our family with our little one. There is a group of about 45 cottages so would be great to go as a big group of you. We had a very comfortable stay with lots of exploring to do all around. A car is essential as it is very isolated. The only thing we would suggest is the kitchen was a little under equipped.
Natasha
The Olde Cow Shed was fabulous 5 star accommodation. We had a amazing holiday and will book to stay there again.
A beautiful cottage in a lovely location. A very welcome cake, bottle of wine and chocolate greeted us on arrival. The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful. We have already booked to return in October!
For.a late booking they were fantastic
Location for touring Shropshire very good. standard of construction and furnishings excellent. access roads narrow and winding.
