Graig Las The Stables Reviews

We enjoyed our new year stay at Graig Las, it snowed whilst we were there but we had a totally relaxing and enjoyable stay in the most beautiful location. Our cottage was cosy and comfortable with all the amenities required, Greg ensured we were safe and warm during the snowfall which only added to our adventure, only venturing out to take the dog for walks in the snow which was thoroughly enjoyable. Would definitely visit again.

Well what can we say! A beautiful, cosy, clean and well equipped cottage in simply stunning surroundings! The views are breathtaking and you are surrounded in peace and tranquility. Both hosts Greg and Marie were absolutely fabulous and we couldnt be any happier with our experience with them, they were so friendly, approachable and helpful the whole stay through. The beds were very comfy, the log burner was excellent and the selection of books and games were great too! Lots to do and see around this area of Wales for all ages and all reasonably priced also. We highly recommend staying here and we cant wait to return! Thank you Greg and Marie for a wonderful holiday xxx

Amazing location. Really great to discover a part of Wales which Id never explored before. Very cosy with the wood burner on
Vanessa
Lovely cottage in a beautiful remote location. Bed was so comfortable and the owners were so helpful. Couldnt recommend this enough. Enjoyed the peace and quiet and all of the wildlife.

Well what can we say, that was a truly smashing week. The cottage was just what we ordered so cosy peaceful with all the facilities we required. The surrounding scenery was awesome we really enjoyed our evenings sitting outside with our G&Ts admiring the beautiful views of the hills and valleys and in the day making them views come closer taking the lovely walks directly from the cottage and on a couple of occasions taking our bikes to the two nearby lakes and water fall. Finally a big thankyou to Marie and Greg for their friendly welcome, they were great hosts and always ready to help. We could return and certainly recommend. Arthur& Norma
Remote, serene, mindful sitting observing the grazing sheep and the resident grey wagtails optimistically chasing a kaleidoscope of red admirals, next to your own babbling brook in front of a spotlessly maintained little cottage with its wellequipped downstairs kitchendiner and shower room and upstairs lounge with log burner and cable TV and separate bedrooms. Glyn and Marie were lovely discreet hosts and were able to accommodate our 2 cars. Our dog was contained within our little garden. Lots of walking and reading. The WiFi was also great.

Lovely location with gorgeous surroundings away from the main roads and noises. Plenty of wildlife and sheep to watch. Owners live up the hill, who were lovely and respected pur privacy. Few mins to the local village and a short drive to Bala for shops and EV charger. If youre up for exploring you can walk from the cottage to the nearby hills with a bit of guesswork Although we stayed in possibly the hottest week of the year, the wood burner was lovely to have when the night got cold.

Our stay at the cottage was truly unforgettable. The property itself is absolutely delightfulimmaculately maintained with topnotch facilities, making it the perfect home away from home. Situated in an exquisite area, it offers the kind of peace and tranquillity that makes you feel miles away from everyday life. Marie and Greg were wonderful hostsexceptionally kind, attentive, and always ready to assist with anything we needed. Their hospitality truly enhanced our stay. If you're seeking a peaceful retreat to escape the stresses of daily life and immerse yourself in nature, this is the ideal place. We couldnt have asked for a better getaway!
We recently stayed at Graig Las The Stables and had a wonderful experience. The property is beautifully maintained, offering a perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. The accommodation was spotless and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The surrounding scenery is breathtaking, with rolling hills and lush countryside right on the doorstep. It was the ideal base for exploring the local area and enjoying peaceful walks. The hosts were welcoming and attentive, providing helpful recommendations and making sure we felt right at home. We really enjoyed sitting outside during the afternoon and evenings. The area is a bird watchers paradise and you don't have to leave the property to enjoy this, we particularly enjoyed the Red Kites that can be seen throughout the day entertaining us with their aerial acrobatics. The ideal retreat to go and unwind. We are already planning a return visit and have recommended to family and friends. Thanks Greg and Marie for the hospitality. We can't wait to come back, Dave, Sarah and Scooby

This is a fantastic place to wind down and chill

Could replace a couple of the double sockets for ones that have USB ports on them. Need to make the kitchen light switching 2 way like the living room is so both can be switched on from kitchen or living room unless you already have and I just couldnt find the switch in the living room ?? The pictures on the site dont do the views from the cottage justice, had a fabulous time and owners were great, they met us when we arrived, would definitely recommend The Srables to anyone looking for a more secluded stay with lovely scenery and plenty of walking from the doorstep.

We loved this place. The valley was absolutely stunning. Greg and Marie were extremely helpful owners living next door. Great place for walkers.
Lorraine
A super little cottage set in a beautiful Welsh valley. Easy waterfall walk right on the doorstep with more challenging walks if you choose. Friendly and helpful owners on hand if required but not at all intrusive. We will definitely be returning.
Sorry this review is so late, both the wife and I thought each other had left a review. This stay from start to end was completely amazing. The thought of a week away just the 2 of us with our beloved Bailey, German Shepherd, not seeing a soul unless we chose to apart from the hosts Greg & Marie, who were fantastic, very friendly and helpful, was just what we needed. On following the directions, upon arrival to the small, quaint village of Llanynog then turning up a small lane through a private gate, we felt that this location was truly special. Upon arrival to the property we we welcomed by Greg, who i found to be a very nice man , as the holiday went on stopping to have a quick chat even though he clearly had work to do was never too much trouble. The cottage Graig Las Barns, from the moment we walked through the door, we knew that we had found a special place, this being our Baileys 1st holiday even more so. The setting which this cottage is in, is absolutely fantastic. Each day we would take a stroll through the fields, with only sheep sheep and more sheep to see, not forgetting the vast amount of pheasants and birds of prey we saw. Our stay was 1219th October 2024, which was always going to be a mixed bag of weather, rain or shine nothing changed our mood, proper chilled we were all 3 of us. The cottage has great facilities from the quaint country kitchendiner to the 1st floor cosy lounge and amazingly comfy beds. day times were spent walking, eating, playing board games which were to be found in the tv cupboard. Night times were spent eating at the table with a few drinks then retiring upstairs to watch tv on the fully loaded smart tv, with a few drinks, not forgetting the amazing log burner. A few days we left the location and took a drive out, the scenery is truly outstanding, we even popped in to the New Inn pub located centre of village, the publican was found to be very friendly
Beautiful spot. Owners made us feel very welcome. Cottage is just right for all that's needed for a quiet and peaceful stay.
We had a great week at The Stables. The property was excellent loads of space, well equipped and the owner was friendly and helpful. The location was stunning, and managed the impressive trick of feeling totally remote, while not actually being that far from civilisation. This is definitely on our must revisit list.
Nunzio
Great cottage with everything you need for a break away , very comfortable, stunning views and well located for days out to all the main attractions in the area . Greg and Marie are great hosts , there if you need anything .
Could not ask for a better cottage to spend our holiday in, can not speak highly enough of this one. anything you needed, Greg & Marie would be on call to help. The views from the Cottage are unreal, the pictures do not do them justice, you could spend a good couple of days just walking around the local area, finding the secret lake , and the waterfall, spent a good few evenings walking there. The Cottage itself had everything you need, very spacious and we can not fault it, very clean and organised,
Jonathan
Incredible location and views, characterful cottage with everything we needed. Owners were very hospitable and happy to help with anything we needed. Would highly recommend this cottage for a peaceful and relaxing holiday.
Manasi
Such an amazing cottage in wonderfully wild surroundings. Our stay was lovely, we'd highly recommend it to anyone seeking to explore North Wales and around. Greg and Marie were friendly and helpful hosts, we'd love to go back sometime.
Sandra
If you're looking for the perfect getaway Graig Las The Stables has it all. Having spent a thoroughly enjoyable week here, the views are amazing with abundance of wildlife. Lots of places to visit within an hours drive away, and unwinding in the garden with a glass of wine after a day out, just perfect! The cottage catered for all our needs, with most comfortable bed to ensure a good nights sleep. The owners Greg and Marie were very helpful throughout our stay giving recommendations of attractions to visit. They are very friendly without being intrusive. I would highly recommend this place to anyone for it's tranquility you will not be disappointed. We hope to return again sometime in the future. Thank you for sharing your lovely accommodation.
Mervyn
A very comfortable and peaceful cottage. In a beautiful part of Wales this was an ideal place for relaxing.
Graig Las The Stables. What a beautiful cottage to stop at with all the amenities you could ever wish for. The view from the stable cottage was spectacular. The walks for those who love nature and own a dog, this cottage is perfectly suited. Most Probably that best holiday cottage my wife and myself and my spaniel have ever stopped at. With a heavy heart we have to return home and cant wait to visit again . Thank you so so much for allowing us to share your beautiful home.
Sally-ann
We had a great week at the Stables, combining contract work locally with a few days tacked on for a break. It delivered for both. The location is stunning, set in its own little valley full of sheep, with a beautiful river running through it incredibly peaceful and very green! The track up to the property is probably the best maintained rural driveway I have ever encountered. The house itself is very comfortable and has pretty much everything you could need, with everything working as it should. The beds are really comfortable, there's a woodburning stove for extra cosiness and the kitchen is fully equipped. The WiFi was excellent. Greg and Marie are friendly and laidback, careful to give you your own space but also very attentive and helpful when needed. There are plenty of pubs within easy reach, a village shop not far away and lots more a bit further away. We did day trips to Oswestry, Lake Vwrnwy, Pistyll Rhaedr Waterfall, Bala and Welshpool during our stay. Al in all, highly recommended. I have downgraded the accuracy score a bit because I feel the current photos really don't do the house or the surroundings justice!
Christopher
First time using Sykes, booking was easy, prices competitive, customer services very responsive and updated with property specific information in the days leading upto trip. Graig Las The Stables, was clean & tidy and equipped with everything you would need for a self catering holiday. Host supplied a small quantity of Tea,Sugar & milk on arrival. Fenced off area for pet to roam. Location is along a single country road with passing places and then along a single track. Views are spectacular with a waterfall 30 min intermediate walk away. Plenty of wildlife red kites, owlsand farm animals to see. Great location to use as a base for visiting Bala, Lake Vyrnwy etc. Will definitely use Sykes again for our next short break and if we do venture to this part of the UK would 100 look to book at Graig Las again
