The Barn At Glanoer Reviews

Andrew
Stunning what a lovely place views from the big window are lovely. also the stand alone bath what a clever touch.the owners left you alone unless required .I would recommend it for a peaceful stay or travelling out local pubs were lovely and as always the people were very welcoming.
Shanti
We had a wonderful cosy time! Sue and Dave were very welcoming, and we loved meeting the friendly dogs. The barn was well stocked with everything you would ever need. The view is even better than the photos, and there was lots of little garden birds to spot. The local area is beautiful with lots of interesting spots for walks. Definitely recommended!
The barn is cited in a beautiful location. The surroundings are so peaceful and calm. We both loved the barn. The views from inside are incredible. To be able to see whats going on whilst having a lovely fire or bath is really special. Everything you needed was at hand, they have really thought of everything. Ideal that its also dog friendly. We will definitely be going back.
We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage, everything that we needed was supplied even down to a box of supplies for our dog. The cottage it's self is beautiful and the grounds it's set in is remote so all you can hear is sheep, cows and birds. I enjoyed having my morning drink on the patio listening to them. The hosts are very friendly and provide all the information you need to make the most of your stay. Thank you for a lovely break.
Malcolm
Thank you for a wonderful stay at Glanoer. Extremely comfortable and clean accommodation with all the facilities and more that you could wish for. The owners are super thoughtful and we were greeted with a welcome hamper containing fresh eggs from their hens, bacon, bread from a local bakery and honey from their bees, this was a real treat. The garden is lovely and peaceful and we sat on the patio watching the birds making nests in the evenings, also have to mention the huge spectacular window overlooking views of the hills. All in all very cosy and could imagine it being even more so in the winter with the log burner lit we didnt need it. Very dog friendly and a perfect spot for walking and visiting Wales.
Angelina
We absolutely loved the Barn at Glanoer and would definitely recommend it. The instructions we received to get there were very detailed and helpful. The Barn looked even better than it did on the photos. The hosts are absolutely wonderful. Very responsive and their attention to detail is the best we've experienced. So many personal touches that made our stay even more special. The main feature has to be the massive window. Laying in the bath looking out at the views was a wonderful experience. The Barn is equipped with everything you need for a relaxing break and it's soooo comfortable. The bed is super comfy too. We can't wait to go back and would definitely recommend it.

Its our favourite place to come and we will be back next year as we have been ... Its our favourite place to come and we will be back next year as we have been for the last three amazing people amazing place

Despite the poor weather it is Wales after all, we had a very comfortable stay at Glenoer. Everything we needed was there. The hosts were both friendly and knowledgeable on the local area, with great suggestions of places to visit both nearby and a little further afield. One way or another we will definitely return.

Lovely property, super setting Dynamic pricing is NOT in my opinion legal, this is something that Sykes need to address as a business you should not be advising Clients to support dynamic pricing. Whilst I nipped my issues in the bud quickly January 2024 when I made the booking and yes we resolved it kindly thanks to the Owner, Sykes referred to T&Cs and then charged me I think 3 times approx 120 for date change and something else a few short days after confirming the booking, then discovering dynamic pricing there's definitely pause for thought and quite frankly refunding me the stupid admin charges all because I had discovered the dynamic pricing strategy!!!
We have zero complaints or suggestions for improvements. The Barn is simply perfect and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. That shower is phenomenal!
Virginia
Love this place. Hosts Sue and Dave are lovely and have 2 dogs of their own, Kitty and Polly, plus 6 chickens that were right outside your secure garden. Pets are accepted and we took our elderly 21yr old siamese cat, Joy. The view out of the window was magnificent, with the stream, garden and fields, nice for walking near the sheep! The log burner is a bonus on cold evenings and the covered patio was excellent for rainy periods to still sit out. Would we go again, definitely, can't wait!

Just returned home from this beautiful barn. It was our first time here and certainly wont be our last. Dave & Sue are the most perfect hosts in fact we felt they were actually friends by the end of the week. This delightful barn is everything you want in a cosy week away, nestled within the most beautiful scenery which actually took my breath away. We travelled around the area and took in some really pretty villages. The Black and white trail is very pretty, and of course Hay on Wye is a must. But if you dont want to travel the Barn is perfect to just kick off your shoes, read a book or a walk around the beautiful gardens with hidden seating areas and hideaways. Just Perfect! Loved every minute. Thank you Sue & Dave see you soon xx
Barbara
Well equipped, comfortable accommodation in a lovely setting. The grounds are ideal for walking your pet, in our case a cat. One of the resident dogs seems to love cats and would sit quietly waiting to look at ours. The location is ideal for visiting lots of interesting places without having to travel too far. The owners are very friendly, available if you want them, but do not intrude. The delicious welcome hamper was very much appreciated.
We had a lovely stay at The Barn. It was very well equipped and very comfortable. Dave and Sue have a lovely Barn. We would definitely stay again if we are in Wales.
Great place to stay, very peaceful and relaxing. Loved the garden area and being able to walk the dog in the field straight from the property. Great views from the bedroom & bath. Loved the hamper and Ralphy loved his dog treats too. Thank you Sue & Dave we will be back.
The barn was beautiful cosy and comfortable the welcome hamper was a lovely touch but the rugs on the floor were very grubby and threadbare, falling apart. .. the shower in the wet room did leak so the floor was always wet so you couldn't wear socks in there which was a slip hazard.... Lots of animal mess outside not from our dog but from other dogs and animals which we either had to pick up or risk stepping in when going outside and throw it into the stream!! We think these things should be addressed as the barn is not a cheap place to stay
I would love to see a hot tub , it would be great.
Denise
We had a fabulous stay in the barn. Everything there that you need and a super comfy bed and great night's sleep. Sue and Dave were very welcoming and were lovely hosts. The breakfast hamper was a really nice gesture and along with the fresh eggs from the chickens was delicious. Thank you we had a great holiday.
Beautiful place and lovely animals
Just beautiful. Such a uniquely beautiful place and that window is gorgeous. Sue and Dave were very welcoming and friendly and offered some good local knowledge. Kit and Poli the two dogs were fabulous too. The welcome basket on arrival was a lovely personalised gesture the bread was beautiful and the eggs were outstanding.
Beautiful barn conversion. We didn't spend much time there as we had activities planned & came home a day early due to work commitments. But it was a lovely place to chill out in the evenings and the bath was a lovely added extra. A hottub on the patio area would of made it perfect....hint hint
Wow what can I say. We had a wonderful Christmas in the beautiful barn. A lovely welcome from Sue and informed about everything weneeded to know. A beautiful welcome hamper with gorgeous home baked bread, eggs butter, marmalade, tea, coffee, Christmas pudding and bacon and milk in the fridge. The dog box with everything you needed was fantastic and dog treats and tiy gifts for our two boys, they loved them. Bed was very comfy and wood burner kept us very toasty. We had such a relaxing stay. Staring out the huge window looking out on the beautiful hills. Watching all the variety of birds on the feeder, even a wood pecker came to visit. We were very sad to leave and didn't want to go home. We will definitely be back again. Thank you to lovely Susan & Dave for sharing their beautiful barn with us. See you again. Carol, Craig, Thor & Oscar. Xxxx
A great stay at the Barn, Dave and Sue were great hosts. We enjoyed feeding the chickens and making friends with the dogs. A cosy well equipped escape, we had a great time.
Verity
This is our second time staying here. And again we absolutely loved it. The barn is so clean, the bed is really comfortable. The welcome package of fresh bread, eggs laid by the Glanoer girls, butter, bacon and home made doggie treats was fantastic. The surroundings are also fabulous. We and the dogs loved it. Thank you so much Sue and Dave, we will be back!
Stephen
Superb, well equipped and very comfortable barn conversion in a quiet location just perfect for the two of us. The owners were helpful in pointing out access to local towns and facilities and we always received a warm welcome from their friendly dogs. Helped by some excellent weather, we had a fine week walking and exploring this part of mid Wales which, though perhaps not as wellknown as other parts of the Principality, has much to offer. The highlight was probably a day in the Elan Valley, with a magnificent walk around one of the reservoirs.
Lovely fully equipped accommodation with everything you could need. The great vista from the large window is superb to wake up to each morning. Sheep and chickens make you smile and the welcome pack, full of local and home cooked produce was excellent. I would thoroughly recommend this venue as a great place to stay and to use as a base for exploring this area.
Denise
We received a lovely warm welcome upon our arrival. Our stay was wonderful, beautiful surroundings and gorgeous wild birds visiting. A very peaceful and lovely area, we truly didn't want to leave. We'll most definitely be recommending to family and friends, we feel completely rested and relaxed after our stay
Andrew
We stayed for 5 nights at glanoer sure wasn't long enough. Could easily of moved there. Beautiful location qseasy to find. Well presented gardens. Safe to say even our dog didn't want to leave.. the barn has all the things you need. Everything was well thought of! The bed was so comfortable. And that smell of fresh bread the second we walked in was to die for.. will 100 be returning Thanks again
Sue and Dave are welcoming and generous hosts. We love staying at Glanoer. It is a great place to stay, set in beautiful countryside and many things to see in the area. This time we visited the Red Kites that are fed on a nearby farm and we strongly recommend it. A great holiday with fabulous hosts in a beautiful barn! Cathy and Vernon
Louise
Our 4th visit and won't be our last! The property was clean and cosy, we never fail to leave feeling refreshed. Everything about it is perfect huge thank you to Sue and Dave for welcoming us. A true home from home.
Judith
One of the most relaxing holidays we've ever had, in one of the most comfortable and wellmaintained properties we've stayed in. Peaceful, private recommended to anyone wanting to escape the demands of everyday life.
Very welcoming and hospitable hosts. A wonderful gem set in a stunning location and equipped with everything to make the stay so enjoyable
Verity
We spent a week at this beautiful barn and absolutely loved it. The owners were so friendly and had literally thought of everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We were provided with a wonderful welcome hamper on arrival, including home baked bread and freshly laid eggs by the Glanoer girls their own chickens! I especially liked the fact everything was locally sourced and the milk was supplied in a glass bottle not a plastic carton. I hate plastic milk cartons!! The barn was extremely clean and the bed linen and towels smelt gorgeous. The owners also allowed us to freely use their land to exercise our dogs which was amazing. The dogs absolutely loved it. We were also given a bag of dog treats and access to towels, leads, toys, wipes and even hiviz dog coats and collars! So thoroughly thought out and greatly appreciated. It was so peaceful with the sound of the stream and the birds.we even saw a woodpecker! It was a great place to retreat to especially when having a busy Manchester life! We will definitely be returning. If theyll have us of course Verity, Mike, Poirot and Vera
Maggie
We had a lovely week at the barn it was comfortable and lacked for nothing. The surroundings were lovely and we were greeted each morning by the chickens clucking gently. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts who looked after us so well. We would recommend this holiday as a lovely quiet relaxing place to stay, With everything you need.
The Hosts were so welcoming and left a delicious hamper for our 1st morning. The accommodation and setting was simply gorgeous would highly recommend!
Kirsty
It was my second time at the Barn and another lovely stay. I was made to feel so welcomed and the welcome pack is a lovely touch. Thank you both for a lovely relaxing stay and I hope to be back again!
Beautiful location. Owners have thought of everything you need and lots of extra touches. Second time at this property. We love it!
Robert
Hosts were very welcoming and helpful. The Barn is a wonderful little retreat, the weather was ridiculously hot, but thankfully we had fans to try and get some airflow and the covered patio was a life saver. The hosts gardens are beautiful and a wonderful place for quiet contemplation.
