Sutton Barn Reviews

Georgia
Loved the situation of this little cottage there is so much to do in the area, and so much to walk around without having to drive for ages. Owners were really friendly, and instructions for everything were nice and clear for the facilities. The beds were comfortable and the rooms are all a good size nothing felt too cramped. All in all, a very enjoyable stay
Lovely property with loads of character. We were visiting family in Ross on Wye and wanted somewhere quiet for downtime in the between family gatherings and this was perfect. Loved the approach between farm buildings and being woken up by the cows asking for their breakfast. We live in a small town so this was a perfect mini escape to the country.
Very comfortable cottage in beautiful countryside. Plenty of places to visit in the area and good dog walking opportunities. Thank you.

We had a lovely stay at Sutton Barn. It is a comfy and very clean cottage in a very peaceful location. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it and we are already planning to return.
Nice cottage. Ideal place for exploring the Wye Valley, South Wales and more. Only 7 minutes drive away from the A40. We liked the large fridgefreezer and the oven. Bathroom is downstairs. We dont normally return to the same cottages we have already been but I fully recommend this place.
Caroline
Very comfortable cottage in a lovely setting and the owners were lovely too. Really enjoyed our stay.
This barn was a wonderful haven for us! The beds were comfortable and our mattress which felt like memory foam seemed to really alleviate my back problem. Would have loved this to have been a longer visit.
The cottage was lovely, clean, tidy and absolutely perfect for what we were looking for, which was a quiet and beautiful rural location. It was very much a last minute booking and the hosts very kindly got the place ready for us on the day of the booking. It was greatly appreciated. We hope to go back there at some point in the near future.
Comfortable cottage with everything you could need provided Rural location ... Comfortable cottage with everything you could need provided Rural location with walks from the door, very quiet and peaceful Owners were very friendly and welcoming
This was a great place to stay wonderfully quiet yet not far from plenty of lovely walks, two of which we enjoyed from the cottage itself. A very comfortable place to say, fully equipped and a lovely wood burner too. Would heartily recommend to anyone wanting to explore the Forest of Dean. Do visit The Moody Cow for a great meal out or The Hen and Dot Cafe at Flanesford Priory combined perhaps with a look round the nearby Goodrich Caste. And of course theres Symmonds Yat the dramatic starting point for a 10 mile walk with the White Horse at Staunton a very convenient pub to stop for lunch. Our hosts were lovely too!

Sutton Barn is the most restful self catering place we have ever been to. It is situated in a small village and has a spacious frontage for parking and a large area of beautiful cared for lawn area with wild flower beds. The moment we entered the barn we could see that this was a well cared for house. It had everything you would need and was all the rooms were clean and well furnished. Kate and David were perfect hosts and we would love to stay there again. The barn is a very popular venue and has number of regular visitors so I sugest you book early befor al the dates are filled

We have had a very enjoyable week staying at Sutton Barn. The cottage is spacious and has a welcoming feel to it. The garden is a great size and Kate and David were very generous in letting us have access to all of it. Molly our dog particularly loved exploring it. We would highly recommend the cottage, its within easy distance of a lot of places to visit and good walks within easy reach.
Our stay at Sutton Barn was lovely. The property was exactly as described and the owners friendly but not intrusive. The weather for our week was amazing so we got lots of use from the patio and garden. Would recommend for a couple or small family as a great holiday location.
Lovely homely cottage and very accommodating hosts. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Accommodation was well above expectations made extremely welcome by Kate and Dave. Very clean, great facilities and very comfortable
A lovely quite location, where we were able to unwind and completley forget about work and relax. Visits to surrounding places of interest was a delight as we had never been to the area before. We hope to return and enjoy the peace and quiet again.
Alison
We had a lovely stay at Sutton Barn. The owners were friendly and approachable but not intrusive. The barn was clean and very comfortable with the best equipped kitchen wed ever had.Scaffolding on the main barn meant we didnt have full access to the patio area but this wasnt an issue as we had the run of the beautiful garden which the dogs enjoyed. The area was lovely with lots of good dog walks in the Forest of Dean and along the river Wye. We were able to get a supermarket delivery to the barn which was very convenient for us. If you like a rural retreat I can recommend Sutton Barn.
Jonathan

Superb accommodation in a beautiful setting. Excellent value for money.
We had a lovely weeks stay here in September. The property is comfortable and has everything you would need and is incredibly peaceful. We enjoyed walks from the door around the countryside but it is also close enough to symonds yat, Rossonwye amongst other local areas of interest.
A really lovely and comfortable cottage in the beautiful Wye Valley. Hosts David and Kate and of course Arthur the dog are extremely friendly and accommodating whilst not intruding in any way. Highly recommended.
Lovely locationvery rural with a mile or so of single track road to be negotiated from the village. Lovely gardens, great views of surrounding farmland and forest. Loads of wildlife on the doorstep. Walks to be had from the front door or within a couple of miles. Very handy for Ross on Wye shops and pubs and the Forest of Dean. Hosts were very welcoming and hospitable.
Our stay was great, very impressed. Thank you!
