Pool Barn, Craven Arms

Loved our time at Pool Barn. It was very clean, comfortable, well equipped, the garden was beautiful, the location was stunning, a real haven of tranquility. Off the beaten track in the heart of the beautiful Shropshire countryside. Des and Jan were lovely hosts, very welcoming and always willing to help. Highly recommended

Beautiful location, clean and comfortable, and having the use of the beautiful grounds was a boon as were able to sit in the shade and read while the temperature reached 30plus degrees. The owners were very pleasant, approachable and helpful. We felt that the price we paid for a fournight stay was expensive. Whereas the accommodation was adequately equipped, it was supposed to be for six people and there were not six matching cups snd saucers, for example, and only four chairs for the dining table which would need to be pulled out if more than three people were dining, and the access to the cooker and sink would be limited. There is no dishwasher or washing machine and, whereas the accommodation was fine though far from cheap for the two of us I think it would be very cramped for six. At many holiday houses weve stayed there have been little extras which have been most welcome like a vase of flowers on the table, or a loaf if bread, some eggs or a bottle of wine, whereas here there was nothing and, for the price we paid, this was a bit disappointing.

Owners Des and Jan made us feel very welcome and were always on hand if you needed anything. The barn is comfortable with 3 good size bedrooms downstairs twin bedded ensuite, upstairs double with ensuite cloakroom, a further double bedroom and separate shower, etc. The garden is lovely and being able to walk our dog in the adjacent field was an added bonus. Every day we sat outside on the patio and all we could hear were the birds, ducks and wind blowing through the trees, so peaceful.

Beautiful location and welcoming owners. The property is set in a breath taking and incredible scenic location, set at the top of a many tiered garden, with a fantastic range of trees, shrubs, flowers and plenty of seating to enjoy. Next to the garden are fabulous fields and a fishing lake to explore where you are welcome to fish if desired. The barn itself is very clean and comfortable and perfect for either a relaxing escape or a base for exploring the area, we would defiantly recommend. The owners nearby are are always available if needed, both friendly and welcoming, you couldn't ask for more.

The cottage was very comfortable and cozy. The garden was tranquil and beautiful and a peaceful retreat at the end of the day. The owners were friendly and very kind and helpful.

Had a lovely stay at Pool Barn. Comfortable house with 3 large bedrooms. Beautiful gardens and a really secluded location. Our hosts were friendly and helpful. We were a little worried by a previous bad review but those worries were completely unfounded.

The warm and friendly welcome from Jan and Des ensured we felt relaxed and happy to be here from the outset. They were helpful and concerned that we had everything we needed. Pool Barn is a tastefully and beautifully furnished and decorated barn conversion in a stunning setting with the pool, garden and extensive grounds. It was clean, cosy, warm, comfortable and well equipped. The view through the lounge French window as we relaxed with a coffee after our days out was truly lovely. Close by in Craven Arms is the excellent Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre, offering lots of information, good facilities and food and a starting point for a variety of walks. A lovely, unspoilt area with lots to see and do a highlight for us was our Long Mynd walk starting and finishing at the National Trust visitor centre in Carding Mill Valley. A brilliant area to visit and Pool Barn was the perfect base for our week in Shropshire.

Beautiful cottage in a beautiful part of the world Ludlow close by and the owners whilst kind are not imposing.

Pool barn is perfect. Clean warm and very well maintained. The location is idyllic surrounded by fields of sheep a beautiful pool full of fish. Just sit relax and listen to silence. The host Des is very friendly, a pleasure to meet.

We arrived late Thursday evening and was greeted by the hostsowners of the barn a fabulous couple that really care about your stay and experience. They even helped us in with luggage etc.. the barn is amazing, everything that you need, very, very, very clean and very well maintained. Ample hot water, all things you would need home from home. The barn is situated just outside Ludlow which is a fab market town, and within an hour of Worcester Hereford etc. The gardens of the barn are amazing all very peaceful and tranquil to relax after a busy day out and about. Ample car parking. We had a dog with us that loved the barn and the driveway down as grassed area to smell and walk overlooking a fishing lake. All very private and very perfect. If you book the barn dont use the postcode as it will take you miles down a one car track, go to cravens arms first then put the postcode in, which the host told us when we arrived, I wouldnt worry about the track either as the track only houses 46 houses and you would go down the track to anywhere else, in other words you dont meet traffic. All very, very perfect, I wish the hosts best of luck. And many thanks for our short notice stay.

What a lovely place, well looked after and well appointed, comfortable but tight living space for 6 adults to be fair. ...a conservatory would help maybe. The road is a bit lumpy down to the property so glad I didn't have a Porsche

Beautiful property and very welcoming hosts clean and comfortable throughout. Property would benefit from investing in a washing machine and dishwasher but would definitely stay again.

Pool Barn is located in a very quiet and beautiful setting close to a lake a couple of Craven Arms surrounded by glorious countryside. The only downside for us was synthetic bedding but otherwise it was very comfortable and clean. It was was a great location for the Shropshire Hills Doscovery Centre, Stokesay Castle and Ludlow and made a perfect weekend getaway.

Lovely stay at Pool Barn, it had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. On the way, missed the turning to the property and car got stuck due to bad weather. The owners and other locals were very helpful in getting the car back on the road. Our daughter and her friend loved the barn and meeting the resident dogs! Remote location great for a quiet few days away but still within reasonable distance of things to do.
