Little Brook Reviews

This cottage is clean, comfortable and makes for a relaxing holiday. It is ideal for exploring Dorset and Carole and Dave are on hand if needed with extra advice. This was our third visit and hope to visit again in the future.
Little Brook was a really sweet cottage with access to a garden and summer house. There were some really nice little touches like a vase of fresh flowers and home baked shortbread. There were also a good selection of DVDs , books and games. The location was good with easy access to walks and tourist attractions. Overall the property was very clean but the bathroom could have done with some extra cleaning to remove mould.
Derrick
Excellent on every front. Attention to detail was amazing.
Accommodation was everything you could ask for in a lovely quiet location, there is also a large secure garden which was ideal for our dog. It was a perfect base for exploring the Dorset Coast and the owners were really friendly and knowledgeable about the surrounding area.
Frances
This was a very pleasant location to stay, with a gorgeous outdoor space for the evening. The bedroom downstairs was lovely and cool in the heatwave. Lots of things to do locally. The owners very kind and friendly thank you for my fossil!!
Leslie
What a lovely cottage! We had everything we needed, and our hosts were very nice. They gave us advice on where to eat The Elm Tree and the food was delicious. The cottage was situated in a little village but within easy reach of Weymouth beach and other attractions. It had a lovely dog friendly garden which we all enjoyed. Would thoroughly recommend it.
What a lovely little cottage. It was an upside down house which made the most of the view. The owners thought of everything down to the bottle of fizz in the fridge. It was delightful and I will definitely book again.
Andrew
Lovely comfy bed, a good base to explore the beaches and coves. Sadly we didnt really have the weather for it, but you cant have everything, Id like to come back later in the summer though for sure
We enjoyed our stay very much. The owners were very friendly and helpful and made us very welcome with some lovely treats. The cottage was excellent clean and well equipped . The enclosed garden was ideal for our dog and we sat out in the garden house. It was well situated for going to different places of interest.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our recent 7 night stay at Little Brook, nr Weymouth. Hosts Carole and John are very knowledgeable about the famous Jurassic Coastline and helpful about other points of interest in Dorset thank you. The Upwey rail station is nearby and offers a convenient alternative to distance driving around Dorset. We took advantage of rail services several times. Little Brook accommodation is very nicely appointed, exceptionally clean, quiet, spacious, and warm. We liked very much the upstairs window where we sat for meals. The outlook is so peaceful and green, with birds fluttering in the closeby trees. Overall, Little Brook provided everything we needed for our interesting and peaceful break away.
Charlotte
This was a really lovely place to stay. I felt that the owners went the extra step to make my stay wonderful. I arrived to a Xmas tree and decorations, milk in the fridge and a some great local products. Having stayed in many places for Xmas this was the first time I had this. It made the cottage feel Christmassy and lovely to be in.
The perfect hideaway for a couples break! We loved this lovely cottage, its the cleanest cottage we have ever stopped in and so welcoming and cosy. The decor was really tasteful and the cottage has been renovated beautifully. The kitchen was extremely well equipped, a bonus as we like to cook. Although its only a short jaunt to Weymouth or the other costal areas it felt very quiet and private. The gardens are lovely and I spend an incredible amount of time watching the birds from the arch window. Carole and John made us feel very welcome and we really appreciated the wine and home made cake! We couldnt have wished for more, and we will certainly be returning at some point. We also really appreciated the little touches like fresh flowers, nice hand soap and thick fluffy towels. Its a 10 from us, thank you.
Thank you Sykes. And thank you Carole and John for being so welcoming and allowing us and Honey the Labrador to stay in your lovely cottage. It was so clean, very comfy and had every facility and bit of equipment we needed. Thank you for the welcome pack, including my favourite pink fizz, plus heaps of maps and info. Loved the upstairs lounge and kitchen. Genius. IT WAS WONDERFUL. N&N
Frederick
An excellent property, warm and well equipped with a garden suitable for a couple of dogs. Very comfortable.
Richard
It was the cleanest holiday property we've been to for years! We loved it. Quiet location, comfortable, warm, well equipped, reasonable price. A lot of places to visit nearby. As far as the property is concerned we'd go again.
Another stay in this perfect cottage. Always clean and welcoming with everything you need to make your stay complete. The fresh flowers in the lounge and the little vase in the bedroom are a special touch, along with the chocolates and wine. Carole and John are very welcoming, but not at all intrusive. Little Brook cottage is adjacent to their home and is ideally situated for exploring in and around Weymouth.
Maxine
This little cottage is a gem. Its set in a hamlet and is so peaceful and quiet, brilliant place to explore from. The owners go over and above to help you out. It has everything you need for a chilled holiday. Fabulous.

This is a gorgeous barn conversion in a peaceful location but only 15 minutes from Weymouth. Really well placed to visit the coast East or West. Spotlessly clean & everything you could need for a home from home stay. Booked as a last minute break & really glad we did. Thanks to the owners for the welcome bottle of fizz, yummy biscuits & milk. The garden is also beautiful and very dog friendly as it is walled. Our whippet was very happy!!! We would stay again next time were in the area
Michael
To Sykes cottages l know when l booked and the date l had arranged and the full details of my booking To be informed on at least 9 occasions a couple of weeks prior to my arrival was in the least totally unnecessary or is it down to rather inaccurate computer programming! !!!!!
Rosalind
Just returned from from our stay at Little Brook it was absolutley lovely great location for exploring Weymouth, Dorchester, West bay, Portland etc cottage was very clean and had everything you needed for your stay, our dog loved the freedom of the enclosed garden, would highly recommend,we would definately stay again. Thank you Carol and John for having us.
This cottage was located on the edge of Weymouth and positioned as it was it was ideal to get to see a whole range of visitor attractions in the area. The Cottage had good parking off road and was attached to the owners house and they were ready to assist in anyway that they could. The upside down living gave us a good view of the garden and more distant views. There were local shops within easy reach and all in all this added to the comfort and convenience of Brook Cottage.
Karine
Lovely stay in a very cosy cottage. The location is great to get any main points of interest within 30 to 50 minutes drive. The cottage is absolutely lovely with a well maintained communal garden which was great so our 2 dogs could enjoy a bit of play after days spent sightseeing. The hosts are very welcoming making sure you have all you need during your stay. Highly recommended cottage when in Dorset and one well look coming back to next time.
Christine
Absolutely wonderful cottage we cannot find anything negative to report. Spotlessly clean , fully equipped, comfortable and peaceful. Lovely garden our dog loved it. Great location and the hosts were there if you needed anything but not intrusive. Would 100 recommend

Carolyn
Really nice holiday cottage difficult to fault.
What a lovely place to stay. Beautiful cottage with everything you could need. Carole and John were wonderful hosts and were on hand for any questions. Lovely quiet location but handy for local shops and supermarkets. Ideally placed to visit Weymouth, Portland, Lyme Regis and many more places. New forest is only 1hr 15mins away as is the beautiful Stourhead house and gardens which I highly recommend. We'll definitely be back.
Michael
Little Brook is a beautiful little cottage, with a surprising amount of equipment secreted inside it. Even Henry has his own little home under the stairs. The owners are friendly and helpful, with ideas for activities in the locality. The upsidedown layout makes best use of the space available. The upstairs openplan kitchen, dining, living space is comfortable and warm, with a library of books detailing the delights of the region. The underfloor heating in the bathroom is an unexpected luxury. The enclosed garden is brilliant for dog owners. The greenhouse has a range of chairs and covers for when the sun shines. There is so much more, and probably even more than that, which we did not find in our short stay.
Robert
The cottage was superb, and the owners went above and beyond our expectations. Very welcoming and generous,
Kenneth Robert
Our stay at Littlebrook was very pleasant indeed. Close to major attractions in the Weymouth area. Agency responded positively and very quickly when I contacted them. Pleasant and helpful owners. We would not hesitate to book with Sy
This is one of the best holiday homes we have stayed in. Everything catered for and extras too. The home owner was lovely, friendly and told us all about the area . It was brilliant.
Joanne
Little Brook is quiet, the owners are lovely as well as their dogs. The cottage is enough for 2 adults and 2 dogs. Well equipped, bed comfortable and gardens are a delight watching the birds feeding and flitting about.
Very nice comfortable clean and accessible to most places we visited
Little Brook is a lovely cottage, its clean, tidy, comfortable, and the decor is tasteful and well thought out, the kitchen is well stocked with everything you should need during your stay. The garden is enclosed and safe for dogs, and consist of a neat grassed area and stone courtyard. Nottington itself is quiet with lots of walking routes to explore, with pubs and shops not too far away. Host John and Carol are friendly and welcoming, and went above and beyond in helping when we had car trouble. Can honestly say that Little Brook is one of the best holiday cottages we have stayed in. The weather was rubbish though.
