Hetty's Stables Reviews

Thomas
Thank you Megan for a lovely stay. The cottage was an ideal size for our family trip, with plenty of outdoor space to keep my two year old nephew entertained, as well. He loved seeing the chickens and sheep! Nice comfortable furniture throughout. We appreciated the milk and eggs you provided, too! The modern kitchen is lovely. Our only suggestion would be that the crockery would benefit from updating. In particular, the addition of some cereal bowls as the shallow bowls currently available were a bit tricky to use for this. Overall, loved our stay, visited some charming places in the Cotswolds, and we wouldnt hesitate to recommend Hettys Stables to others!
The property had everything that we needed. The weather was bitterly cold whilst we were there but the cottage was cosy and warm. The cottage has a welcoming calming feel and for us was very located to the places that we wanted to go to. The beds and furniture were very comfortable. We had a great stay and would 100 go back to this beautiful property. And highly recommend it.
Stayed for Cheltenham races the cottage is lovely and cosy. Had everything we needed for a great stay. Only thing it needed was better signage off the road. We arrived on a dark and stormy evening so were slightly unsure that we had the right place. Even with the very accurate what three words we werent sure until we had pulled in and saw the Hettys Cottage parking. Would stay again
A delightful accommodation in beautiful surroundings. Ideal for a group or family to spend time together. Near to so many enjoyable features of the Cotswolds. Hosts were friendly, generous and helpful.
The accommodation was ok, however the kitchen was a little dirty and the plates bowels cutlery etc definitely need updating. The outside terrace was nice but needed a good sweep and the tablebrolly had seen better days. The drivewaypaths were full of weeds. With some extra care and attention it could be made very nice. Bathrooms and bedrooms were clean but the towels were pretty dire. Also we had the electricity trip out and to ask the owners to put the hot water back on as it has been switched off. Wouldnt return Im afraid.
A beautiful property in a great location with easy access to lots of lovely Cotswolds towns and villages. The owner was very welcoming and gave some good advice about places to visit for our group of 3 which included 2 elderly ladies, 1 with mobility issues. A very comfortable property with nice little touches, cookies and fresh eggs from the chickens in the garden. Highly recommend a stay at this property.
Andrew
I would like to say a massive thank you to the owners the property was just perfect, although we were there for a work trip the property was just as described, very welcoming with everything you need for a perfect relaxing stay.
We had a wonderful week with our two young children. The location is perfect for exploring the various famous Cotswold towns and also attractions suitable for children.
Joanne
Quiet and relaxing property which is generally well equipped with very comfortable beds and sofas. No mobile signal to speak of but the WiFi was fine for browsing, zoomwebinars etc. We didnt try streaming films so cant comment on that. A DVD player would be a good addition and in the kitchen we noticed the wine glasses needed replacing and there was only one sharp knife but these are only little things and didnt affect the enjoyment of our week there. Meg, the property owner was very friendly and helpful and the milk, biscuits and eggs from her own hens on arrival were very welcome! Overall a very enjoyable stay and would recommend it.
Sandra
Lovely position and good communication with owners who live next door. House was warm and generally well equipped. The water and wine glasses need replacing and a lack of sharp knives.
Lovely stay, so clean and comfortable. Very child safe and lots of thanks for looking after us during the power cut from the storm.

We had a wonderful time . ...three of us all 80 plus. Everything we needed, except possibly a grab rail in each of the showers would have been useful. The cottage and the area lovely and the owners very welcoming and helpful. Joy Shirley And Deanne.
Lovely well appointed cottage ,perfect for our group of 6 old friends . The open plan layout was perfect for socialising ,and kitchen well equipped The welcome pack of eggs ,cookies and milk was well received. There was no one next door to us for most of our stay ,but I think we were slightly surprised how close the other attached property was . This set up would be perfect for a large group using both accommodations . Situation excellent for visiting the area ,and we loved the lime tree and it's fabulous perfume
As a family group we had very varied needs with the accommodation. Baby, toddler, wheelchair useradult and a bunch of adults. The accommodation met our needs admirably although the downstairs bathroom proved a challenge to the wheelchair user. I know now the property next door would have suited better. The welcome was delightful, friendly, and sincere. Even the chickens welcomed us and provided some fresh eggs which Megan gave us.
Michael
A lovely comfortable property with a very friendly and helpful owner to hand next door. Second visit and will be happy to return.
Was a really lovely property that had everything we needed for an extremely comfortable stay. Have to say the beds and linens were up there with the best we have slept in ever! Meg was fabulous and so helpful. She went over and above helping us out. The stable is in a great location and close to so much. The surroundings so peaceful. Thanks Meg and Nic for such a lovely stay. Was just what myself and my family needed.
We had a wonderful stay at Hettys Stables, and Meg could not have been a better host. The setting is without question one of the most beautiful weve ever stayed so quiet and peaceful with many excursions just a short drive away, and the property itself was clean and comfortable for our family of 5. We would highly recommend a stay at Hettys Stables to any of our family and friends.
We loved the property homely and practical, and in a beautiful spot. Our only negative was that if someone was having a shower, we couldn't use hot water elsewhere. And we had a terrible experience at the Black Horse pub which really made us feel unwelcome to this part of the Cotswolds. We felt Sykes could have been more helpful when we asked about additional parking. They referred us to Parkopedia which directed us to the local shopping centres. We made plans to leave cars in these places as it was the easiest point for rendezvousing but when we got to the property, there was plenty of space to park four cars in our space, and there was further parking. I feel Sykes could have made contact with the owner which would have made everything a whole lot easier.
A very welcoming and spacious holiday home with all the comforts needed for a family stay in a pretty, rural location but not far at all from general amenities such as shops and eateries . Plenty of places of interest a short drive away and an ideal location to further explore this part of The Cotswolds.
Stephen
Beautiful cottage. Brilliant amenities. Perfect location. Highly recommended!
I thought the cottage was great and well equipped and very clean which is very important. Also, the hosts were very accommodating and helpful. However, Guests in the next door cottage woke everyone up very early, on their departure. So, you do need to be mindful that you have no control of the noise of your neighbours who are right next door. The oven was challenging and wifi and phone connections were poor so that does need to be considered. Also, the views are stunning at Hettys Stables and we would definitely return and the garden was lovely. Would fully recommend having a hot tub at the property though.
Frederick
A comfortable, clean cottage ideally placed for those wishing a peaceful break. The property owner was very kind and helpful with information about the surrounding areas.
Very well situated in the centre of the cotswolds but away from the crowds so peaceful too. Easy access to everywhere, nice owners on hand and a great little traditional pub in nearby Naunton.
Excellent property and great facilities would highly recommend.
Lovely hosts, lovely location. Had the weather been better we'd have been able to enjoy the outdoor space and walks more. But, we still had plenty of space to relax andmake the most of our break with family.
Joanne
Lovely cottage, really enjoyed our stay.
Trinette
The cottage is lovely & clean, big garden all round & just as the photos show. Its very well equipped, beyond our expectations. The owner is very helpful, we had no problems though & were left to come & go as we pleased. Good for children too with books & games provided. We would love to return some day.
Alison
Megan made us very welcome. Fantastic property in wonderful countryside.Extremely well equipped and spotlessly clean. If peace and quiet is what youre looking for , then this is the perfect house.Ideally situated for Cotswolds towns and villages. A big thank you.
A fabulous property in an idyllic rural location but very central to all Cotswold locations. Very clean and well equipped cottage and the owners were very helpful. Our 18 month old grandson loved the free roaming chickens who greeted him each morning and evening. Perhaps a non slip bath mat would be helpful though.
A total Gem , attention to detail amazing, so comfortable, thoughtful extras especially the cookies. Fantastic location, extremely friendly and helpful owners. Will Definitely return.
Lesley

Beautiful cottage in a beautiful location. Great walks on your doorstep for both novices and experts. The Black Horse in Naunton a welcome watering hole within easy walking. A short drive in the other direction to The Plough Inn in Cold Aston chocolate box location! Megan the landlady at Hettys Stables could not have been more welcoming or helpful.
Claire
The property was amazing. Lots of space, everything had been thought about and catered for. The children found a great jigsaw puzzle that kept them occupied throughout the week. Lovely views and Megan was super helpful. Will definitely be back
We had a great time at Hetty's. The booking process, pre arrival info and the checking in is superb and hassle free. The property was immaculate and lovely to stay in. Amazing location and great hosts. Will defo stay their again.
Very well maintained, cosy, and well stocked apartment within easy reach of lovely walks and nearby towns. Really enjoyed our stay.
We stayed at Hetty's stables for three nights at the beginning of September, a family of five. Great comfortable place with serene surroundings providing central location to attractive villages, walking routes and good places to eat. Super hosts, with Meghan even posting items inadvertently left at the property. Would very much like to return in the future.
Amazing place. . peaceful... really comfortable and great space for 4 adults 3 children under 8. Close to so many fantastic days out. Would definately stay here again.
