Flittermouse Barn Reviews

Gordon
Flittermouse Barn was probably the most peaceful place we have ever stayed yet close to shops and amenities. An excellent property!
Our second visit proved just as delightful as the first. I defy anyone to find a superior selfcatering property than Flittermouse Barn.! It really is in a class of its own not only for its quiet location in amongst beautiful farmland but for its cleanliness and high standard of craftsmanship inside. The owners are the best too.! The welcome pack and fresh flowers were very much appreciated and the cheering log burner especially as the nights were cooler on this visit. Thank you so much. Flittermouse is a credit to you!
We booked this firstly on the gallery photos, secondly it just looked and felt like the ideal place we needed for some R&R and it didnt disappoint one bit. First afternoon arrived Storm Amy got ourselves sorted, lit the log fire, poured a couple of malt whiskey and relaxed in a beautifully appointed Barn conversion, thoughtfully and tastefully designed throughout. We also strolled around the Farm Estate, seeing a family of deer each morning outside the fabulous maintained garden. Cannot praise this enough, surpassed our expectations completely. The only thing to comment on would be the outside hot tub, it might be me, but looked like too much hassle to fire up, so we wondered how many couples did use it. Not a complaint just a thought, overall 10 out 10 and a return is already on the cards.
Flittlemouse Barn. We enjoyed this fantastic barn. The area is quiet and peaceful. Watching the wildlife around the area. Walking to Wassand hall and garden. The Trans Pennine Trail will take you to Hornsea sea front. Thank you to the owners for the welcome basket and a warm welcome.
Flittermouse Barn is a beautiful cottage with fabulous outside space. It is well equipped and spotlessly clean. It is in a tranquil rural location with easy access to the coast. We will look forward to another visit.
Absolutely top quality accommodation, not had any better and we've done 20 self catering stays. Really well thought out conversion with everything we could have needed. Outside space excellent as well, the covered seating area was a real bonus.

We absolutely loved this barn! It was welcoming, spotlessly clean on arrival, comfortable & had everything we could possibly need & more! We had such a lovely & very peaceful week, enjoyed time in the barn as well as out & about the area, all in all, it was perfect, would definitely recommend & consider returning too if in the area again! Deserves all the 5 stars!
After 25 years of booking selfcatering cottages Flittermouse Barn is the very best we have ever stayed in. The surrounding countryside and the Barns private garden are beautiful. The Barn is filled with character and the fixture and fittings are of an extremely high quality. Much thought has gone into Flittermouse to make it a very welcoming and homely place. Congratulations to the lovely owners who were so helpful regarding places to visit etc. We cannot recommend this property highly enough. You will not be disappointed!
Graham
Wonderful! Our second time at Flittermouse Barn and we loved it.
Angela
Flittermouse barn is a lovely property set in beautiful gardens and views over the fields. The barn provides every comfort you need and attention to detail in the finishing and decoration of the barn is a high standard. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and returned home feeling relaxed and recharged. We hope to return in the warmer months to take advantage of the beautiful outdoor space.
Flittermouse barn is quite simply a stunning place to stay. When we saw it we were so excited to get inside and we were not disappointed. All rooms are beautifully decorated in a luxurious but practical style, very much 5 star accommodation. The underfloor heating took a bit of getting used to but because we had glorious weather it was warm enough for us. There is a log burner if you need more heat. It has a private and peaceful garden, log fired hot tub and a spacious gazebo. We didn't use the hot tub on this occasion but the owners are on hand to help you out if you do want to use it. The location is perfect because you're in the heart of the country, surrounded by fields and woodland, whilst also being close to the town of Hornsea, shops and the coast. We saw a family of deer in the mornings and could hear the owls chatting to each other at night. The only thing we couldn't find was a shaver socket luckily we'd taken our own although I think the owners will have probably sorted this by now. We hope to visit again in the not too distant future. A really special place!
