Apple Barn, South Molton

Apple Barn provided good holiday accommodation for our 3 generation family from 74 years to 9 months. We all enjoyed the beautiful setting and facilities here which were excellent.

We stayed in Apple Barn, it exceeded all our expectations and was the perfect base to explore the area.

This is the best Holiday house we have rented. The owners were very helpful and so kind, but not intrusive.The house and grounds are a dogs best dream, so making it so relaxing for owners too. Good mixed generational house, with one double ensuite on ground floor for granny, but with limit mobility myself stairs easy to manage to second floor double ensuite. beside two further twin rooms sharing family bathroom. Also double ensuite on first floor ideal for adult children. Hot tub jacuzzi fantastic

Apple Barn is in a delightful rural setting with beautiful views of the devonshire countryside. The hot tub was a treat and was tucked away to the side of the cottage so affording some privacy. The grandchildren enjoyed the games barn and playing football on the field . The cottage was comfortable and easily accommodated 9 people with large sofas to sit on. We did think that it was unusual not to have a folderfile with a list of interesting places to visit and recommended beaches, although we did find a few pamphlets stuffed in the bookcase towards the end of our holiday. It would have been useful and usual to have a guest book where you can read other peoples recommendations of places to visit or eat. We found the internet connection was very flaky in the evenings and rarely could we watch more than 5 minutes of TV before it stalled which was very frustrating, even terrestial TV was intermittent. A folder with the manuals for the appliances would've been helpful too, although we seemed to fathom most things out. Some kitchen scissors and sharp knives for food prep plus a bincontainer to put the recycling in for easy transport up to the bin area are needed. In the cupboard housing the washing machine there was an extremely heavy iron fire front which was leaning against the wall and should be removed as it is a hazard. Lastly some hooks on the back of the bathroom doors for clothesdressing gowns would've been useful. Having said all this we hope that the owner will take on board some of our suggestions as then it really would've been five star. We had a short break with our family to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. Apart from the weather, we all enjoyed our stay. The play room was enjoyed by the grandkids. The only downside is that the original photo shows the hot tub being in front of the barn this was not correct, it was at the side, up some steps. The photo shows the barn next door. Apart from that, the interior photos are all correct. We still had a good time and the grandkids were able to use the hot tub.

We had the best Peacefully Family Xmas Get away. Apple Barn was An amazing place to stay . Exceptionally clean & Very well Equipped, Plenty of cutlery,Dishware Pots and pans etc.Pls Add in sieve & Microwave cover but honestly that was the only 2things missing Beds & Pillows Very Clean and Comfortable. Garden Is well equipped With Plenty Of seating area .We were lucky enough to have 3 very cold but dry sunny Days So we enjoyed the stunning Garden and The Hot tub was the icing in the Xmas cake

Very confortable house for 6 adults and 4 children. All bedrooms were good as were the bathrooms. Kitchen and living area were perfect for our large family. The hot tub was very popular and used every day. The games room was also a popular choice and provided both children and adults with lots of fun. The house was safe for children with stairgates at top and bottom of stairs and plenty of open land to run around in outside.

We had a wonderful time, beautiful area and everything was spotless and nothing was to much trouble. We all enjoyed the hot tub. Would definitely recommend the Apple Barn.

We had a wonderful stay at this very clean and wellkept accommodation. Upon checkin, we were pleasantly surprised to find that the owner had thoughtfully left fresh eggs and cakes for us. From the moment we walked in, we felt genuinely welcomed by the owners warm and friendly hospitality. It was a lovely touch that made our stay even more enjoyable.

Lovely barn, with plenty of room for 10 of us not to feel on top of each. Lovely touches such as the cake and eggs. Good variety of games and books to use and well equipped games room that the kids enjoyed. Nice comfy beds and everything we needed.

We stayed at Apple Barn as a family of 9 with three generations. The house was well equipped for our 2, 3 and 6 year olds with travel cot, stair gates, high chair, smaller cutlery and plenty of space to run around outside. The house was clean and tidy and had everything we needed to self cater. The hot tub was a treat and we enjoyed using the bbq. The house and gardens were really well kept and the owners gave us a warm welcome and were very attentive. We enjoyed being in the countryside surrounded by farmland, it was so peaceful.

I would definitely recommend Apple Barn. The accommodation was spacious and cost, and beautifully decorated. The kitchen is really well kitted out, and the fridge, freezer and oven are big, perfect for catering for lots of people. The views and grounds are lovely and the hot tub was beautifully warm and clean. The owners were very responsive to any little problems. Absolutely brilliant!

Wonderful location, well equipped and spotlessly clean accommodation. Really good to have a large fridge freezer and lots of pots, pans, crockery and glasses sufficient for a large group. Lots of hot water for showers and the hot tub was great. We were very comfortable and really enjoyed our stay, thank you.

Excellent property, never used a holiday letting with so much kitchen equipment no need to improvise. Apple barn was suitable for our four generation family, safe, beautiful, well cared for, comfortable and clean. The surrounding area was peaceful. Staff were friendly and helpful but left space for privacy. Cannot fault this property, Excellent! Would highly recommend.

Beautiful location and cottage. Owners nearby and helpful for any questions. Enough space for 10 to stay without feeling on top of each other. Hot tub area was great and impeccably clean. Sykes website need to make it clear what is available at the property. E.g how many toilet rolls and dishwasher tablets they will leave, especially as remote location when everyone has been drinking.

Wonderful property, stunning views, great location . ...and an amazing Welcome Pack....a tray of fresh local eggs.... delicious cake....not to mention tea and coffee sachets. We all enjoyed the hot tub! A very relaxing place

Apple Barn is a amazing place with beautiful views. The property is well equipped it has everything you need, great kitchen, we had 4 adults and two children under 5, with the owners supplying two stair gates, bed guard, travel cot and highchair, very accommodating, ample space. The are 5 bedrooms, 3 of which have there own bathroom and showers and also a bathroom with bath. The hot tub is lovely too. The owners were on hand for any help too and very friendly, would definitely come back in the future thanks we had a really lovely time over New Year.

Cottage was exactly as listed and we were left with a lovely welcome package of eggs, cake, dish washer tablets, soap etc. Hosts were very accommodating. Location is beautiful. Would highly recommend.

We had a fantastic time at Apple Barn. Stunning views & beautiful accommodation. We had 9 ladies stay & had plenty of space. You just have to be careful all showering as we ran out of hot water on our first morning but no trouble the next day there was more hot water later that day. The fresh eggs left for us were amazing along with the cake. We would definitely return!

Lovely house, the family enjoyed our stay, there were 10 of us with plenty of space in the house. Cake, milk, eggs, etc etc, there waiting for us. Very accommodating owner , nothing was a problem. Would definitely stay here again.

Lovely property in scenic location. The owners looked after us very well and attended to any issues very promptly. Only one criticism is that 4pm is very late to have access to the property on arrival. 3pm would be more favourable.

Apple Barn was a lovely property in a beautiful setting, and the kitchen was well equipped. There was plenty of room for our party of 9 people and we all commented on how comfortable the beds were. The games room and the hot tub outside were greatly appreciated as the weather during our stay was so awful!

Our four generation family has just had the most amazing week staying in Apple Barn Cottage. So much thought has been put into making this cottage as comfortable as home and lovely little touches such as the welcome basket which included a chocoate cake! and fresh milk in the fridge have made this our favourite Cottage ever. Oh, and the hot tub was a great hit, especially with the grandchildren!

We had a fantastic girls weekend away at Apple Barn. Gorgeous property with the perfect kitchen, dining and living space set up for a really sociable weekend. The hot tub was great wellmaintained, warm by the time we arrived and just tucked to the side of the house. Lovely little garden and super friendly and helpful hosts. Would definitely book again.

We had a fabulous weekend break celebrating a special family birthday. All 3 generations loved Apple Barn and enjoyed the great facilities and wonderful location. It is so tastefully decorated and although the weather was a little unkind the full length windows meant that we could enjoy the outdoors from indoors. We did a super walk to North Molton, loved the hot tub, made full use of the brilliant games room with lots of pool and table tennis, and played cricket on the spacious field. Damon made us very welcome and was kind and thoughtful as our host. We were only sorry that our stay was so short. Thank you.

An absolute Gem of a place set in some of the most beautiful surroundings! The house and facilities were perfect. We stayed for a Stagg weekend and the owners were awesome and very understanding. Some great things to see and do locally. Not to mention the food, delicious! Highly recommended!

Apple Barn was a home from home. We had a long drive to get to the property and we had a warm welcome from a delicious cake, farm eggs double yolks and Easter treats! We had three boys under 5 with us and they were all catered for with stair gates, travel cots, high chairs and bath mats. The property was warm, clean and very spacious, the garden had beautiful views, secure for the children and included the hot tub which was cleaned at least once whilst we were there. Damon and Karen were very friendly and quick to help us with anything we needed ie Damon retrieving a toy rocket on the roof. We would highly recommend Apple Barn we were very sad to leave

The property was beautiful, all the home comforts you could ever need and want, well equipped and we had a wonderful stay and perfect Christmas. Loved the extra touches like decorated Xmas tree and cake, eggs, milk etc. Our kids were outside playing football and Damon noticed and brought over a goal net which was really kind and thoughtful. Really couldn't fault anything and would return in a heart beat, would highly recommend. Thank you.

We had the most amazing time, the owners were so helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them. The location of the property is amazing and the facilities of the house were superb. We had a wonderful stay.

Just had the best 12 day stay at Apple Barn. This home was perfect for our needs great kitchen with openplan dining area and living room with a wood stove. Lots of windows overlooking the hills and fields. The owners were around if needed and were very helpful in providing local information. The town of South Molton was an easy drive for good grocery stores, butchers, bakeries, firewood suppliers etc. This is a great base to explore North Devon we saw lots of beautiful rural scenery as well as rugged coastlines and charming waterfront villages. All very very special. A huge thank you to Karen and Damon ! We will so grateful for your warm hospitality. We wished we could have spent Christmas at Apple Barn. Gwen, Carlos, Herb.

2nd time we have stayed at Apple Barn. Had a relaxing long weekend with friends and family. It's well equipped and comfortable with everything we needed. Only slight niggle would be the heating. Sat morning was a slight frost and radiators didn't come on until approx 11am. Following day it was warmer and came on early. We enjoyed the hot tub and the perfect location. We hope to be back.

We had such a lovely time here, the cottage was perfect, the landscape is beautiful and the host was lovely. I would definitely recommend this place.

This was a lovely cottage and could not fault anything the views sitting in the hot tub and the owners were so helpful never met people so accommodating and helpful to the point of collecting our takeaway Indian! ! We had a lovely time and would recommend this place it is very peaceful and we never felt on top of one another there was six adults and 3 children

We absolutely loved our stay at Apple Barn. The view from the garden is wonderful and there is ample room for the kids to run around. The welcome pack was much appreciated, especially the cake and eggs. There were nine of us in the barn and there was plenty of space. Play room is a great idea, our teenagers loved pool and ping pong. The owners were so lovely and couldnt do enough for us.

Everything was really lovely, Damon went out of his way to make us comfortable. He provided us with a fantastic fan in the two hot, hot days of our stay. The only reason I didnt give five stars for facilities, was that the WiFi didnt extend upstairs and my husband couldnt play his computer game in bed. However, it is a good thing to get away from the internet, so, mixed opinion on this.

A beautiful property with everything you need for a wonderful stay. We had a brilliant family holiday here perfect location, weather, and hosts. Would 100 recommend and would love to return. Damon was a brilliant host and nothing was too much trouble. Weve been home a week and still miss one of the best holidays we have ever had.
