Hannah
We loved our stay here, so many fabulous walks right on the doorstep
Lovely spacious cottage, a beautifully converted barn with a wonderful view of the valley, which we could also enjoy from the hot tub. The decoration is cosy but still modern. The hosts are very welcoming and available for any queries or help. We got snowy weather and that was a bonus, made our stay even more special.
Wieslaw
Great place to stay, beautiful views, lovely hosts, very well equipped
Terri-anne
What an amazing little cottage! Mari gave us a lovely welcome including a little hamper to enjoy. The cottage itself is cosy and clean, the views are absolutely stunning, we really enjoyed our stay. The hot tub is hot and a great addition to enjoy. It had all the amenities a family would need including a stair gate, high chair, toys and plastic plates and cups for the kids. Theres also underfloor heating! Absolutely perfect stay. The hosts also came to say goodbye to us which you dont get at every stay. Overall it was fantastic and we will be recommending the cottage to everyone planning a trip to Wales.
Victoria
Mari was a friendly welcoming host and the cottage was absolutely perfect, honestly one of the nicest places weve stayed. From the beautiful location and stunning views down to the thoughtful welcome hamper and every imaginable home from home comfort you could need. The hot tub and wood burner were an absolute treat in the evenings, the cottage was clean, beautifully decorated and furnished and the beds were so comfortable it made getting up very difficult. My husband was especially delighted that he could watch the planes heading low level up to the Mach Loop from the comfort of the lounge. We have already booked another stay for early 2026 and cant wait!
Amanda
Absolutely stunning stay, everything you need and more. Snug, clean Mari was lovely. The march loop was phenomenal, seeing the plans speed past while enjoying the hot tub, glass fiz was awesome. We were happy with weather, wermt bothered by the wet week, it added to the charm.ps mari the doggy paws disappeared lol x
Scarlett
The host was friendly and helpful. The cottage was very clean and cozy in a perfect area not too far of a drive to any of the popular hiking, landmarks or activities.
Fabulous cottage in beautiful scenery. Ideal for sitting outside watching the military planes fly through. Hot tub was very welcome. Facilities in the cottage were more than enough for us. Thank you to Mari for a warm welcome and being a great host.
We had a great stay, brilliant views of the valley and mach loop planes from the hot tub! Lovely accommodation and would recommend.
Sharon
We had a wonderful stay here for a week. Everything was perfect. The cottage is so well equipped, it literally has everything you need. Beds were very comfortable and the hot tub was great with an amazing view of the valleys. Got to see the jets flying the Mach Loop from the hot tub which the kids loved! Lovely welcome basket on arrival and the owners were friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Highly recommend this place for a relaxing stay. Lots to do in the surrounding area so the location is great.
Anthony
The accommodation was perfect. Beautifully finished, spacious and more importantly, super quiet. We were blessed with amazing weather so spent the majority of our time here relaxing peacefully, taking in the beautiful views of the valley, resting in the hot tub and watching the planes fly past. We'd go back in a heartbeat!
Cecilia
Absolutely fantastic cottage, and stunning location we loved every minute of our stay. The cottage itself is gorgeous, and has everything you need and more eg. great cooking facilities and equipment, lovely showerbath productstowels, BBQ, hot tub... We spent many happy hours in that hot tub! Mari and her family and very sweet sausage dog were such lovely and welcoming hosts, and it was a pleasure to be there on their farm. And if you're a plane spotter like me, you might well get some of the best low passes you've seen from F15s, Typhoons, F35s, Atlas A400s and more. We can't wait to return!
Fantastic cottage and lovely owners. Very well located between larger towns for the shopping amenities. Amazing opportunity to watch the low flying jets on the Mach loop from the hot tub. Didnt have an issue with the steep track up to the cottage but could be an issue for some. Amazing hikes and mountain biking very close by and a nice pub just down the road need to drive due to no walkway on the main road. We would recommend and return. Family of 3 2 adults and 1 child. Thanks for having us and see you next time
The property, and the owners were fantastic. Even having RAF jets flying past our window was exciting, particularly against the backdrop of beautiful Welsh countryside. It was wetluck of the draw but we still found plenty of interesting things to do. There can be no better place to relax and chill.
Steven
Great stay, the cottage had the most amazing view from the living room and garden. Mari was a great host
Carolyn
Fantastic accommodation with beautiful views. The beds are so comfortable we all slept really well. Would definitely stay here again. Booked as its on the Mach Loop to see the jets go by unfortunately for us the weather wasnt so great so we did not see that many but when they did fly by it was brilliant. Lovely to sit in the hot tub with a glass of fizz and the amazing views. The owners are in the farmhouse next door and they gave us some great tips of places to go. Would definitely stay here again if we came back to this part of Wales. The Barn had everything you needed for a great stay.
Charlotte
Beautiful accommodation in an area of outstanding beauty. The accommodation is very well equipped and has everything you need, and more. Thoughtful basket of fresh eggs, Welsh waffle biscuits, crisps and milk there on arrival. Its beautifully decorated, and the views are breath taking. The hot tub is very private and a lovely added bonus to sit in and take in the scenery. We were on our honeymoon and Mari left us some Prosecco by the hot tub to celebrate. Most important, the super king size bed was very comfortable. Lots to do in the area, only half an hour to stunning beaches and coastline. We will definately return.
Cottage was amazing, plenty of room for our family of 4 and just as described. Mari and her family were very welcoming and accomodating. The views from the cottage were beautiful and the hot tub was a great addition to relax and still be able to see the beautiful countryside view. Would highly recommend.
Cameron
This is a hidden gem, the place is amazing, it was spotless comfortable and just an amazing setting !
Jennifer
We had an amazing stay at the property and I cannot recommend it enough. The cottage was spotless and felt very homely. We had everything we needed and more. The views are amazing, hot tub fantastic after a days walking, we were surprised by a few jets entering the Mach loop flying past as well. Owners are very friendly and approachable. There is a steepish drive to the property as mentioned in other reviews but not that bad, wasnt an issue. The area is a great location for walks and forestry and also the coast. Barmouth is only about 30 mins away and the beach at Harlech is worth a visit. Had such a relaxing stay nobody wanted to come home, will definitely be on our list for a return visit.
Graham George
What an amazing place this is. Fantastic views over the valley, daily fly pasts of planes entering the mac loop weather permitting. Log burner, BBQ, hot tub, pub down he road. What a great find this was! 100 enjoyed our stay and we will be back. Thanks to the hosts for a warm welcome and looking after us during our stay.
What an absolute Gem of a place! We have had the best 4 night stay. The pictures of the property in the advert makes the place look stunning, but its even better in reality! The property is gorgeous and perfectly decorated. The kitchen has everything you need and the lounge is simply amazing, with breathtaking views! Slept so well in the beds, which have quality bedding. Relaxing in the hot tub after a days hiking, with those views, is amazing, watching the jets flyby! With the log burner lit, its the perfect way to end the day. The WiFi is superb, given the location. A special mention to the host, Mari. Such a warm caring host and genuinely one of lifes good people. She clearly wants people to have the best stay and we certainly did! Just perfect 5!
We have just returned from the most amazing Christmas at this beautiful cottage. I can not praise it enough, comfy beds, stunning views, peaceful and well equipped with everything you could think of. The owner Mari can not do enough and was on hand if we needed anything, hot tub area is secluded with views over the Welsh Valleys and there are plenty of walks all around if you want to explore. We will definitely be returning as soon as possible. Thank you for the most amazing Christmas we have ever had
The host was absolutely lovely and courteous. The property is stunning and well maintained.
Beautiful cottage, stocked with everything you may need. Views out of this world!!!! 5 star, even the beds are comfy. Nothing too much trouble. If your a walker then this is paradise. If not fab little places to visit. Already booked to go back.
This is by far the best rental cottage have ever stayed in. We wanted for nothing at all. It's was so clean warm and cosy. The hosts were on hand if we did need anything which we didn't. We went to watch the planes in the mach loop and we were not disappointed. They fly right in front of the cottage it was an amazing sight. . They were very friendly and welcoming we would not hesitate to return to this property
The best equipped holiday let we have stayed in. Beautiful location Owners friendly and helpful
A beautiful home from home with outstanding views. The property had everything we needed and more and with the lovely owners living next door they were on hand if we needed anything. It was cosy and comfortable and offered a great viewpoint to see the red kites and the low flying jets. Other reviews mentioned the steep drive but it really wasn't that bad and we don't have a 4x4 vehicle. We did a couple of lovely walks close to the property and also visited the nearby coast for a walk along the beach. We didn't get to visit the nearby Brigands Inn as although it's not far we didn't feel that it was safe road to walk down without anywhere to get away from the traffic. Ysgubor Craig Y Gronfa offers a lovely peaceful base for exploring the area and I couldn't recommend it highly enough.
Lovely, spacious property with beautiful views. Friendly helpful owner. Super comfy bed and so well equipped. The milk, biscuits, crisps and even toiletries were a lovely added touch.
Rachel
We had an amazing stay, the accommodation was amazing as were the hosts! We hope to be back one day
Had a lovely week at the cottage, its been tastefully decorated and, was very clean and comfortable. Directions were easy to follow and, it should be noted that the track leading to the property is steep and uneven, if you have a low car. The views are amazing and, we got to see a few jets on the mach loop which, was a bonus. Mari, the owner was welcoming and, left us gifts on arrival which, was appreciated. The only negative was that there is no window in the main bedroom which, in warm weather was stuffy. We did mention this to Mari and, she took it on board. There is an emergency door but, wouldn't leave it open all night to let air in!
Amazing cottage, will definitely be back! !!
Brilliant place by far the best we have stayed at loved it! !!
We had a wonderful, restful and extremely comfortable stay. From the kitchen facilities to the super warm woodburner and huge bed, everything was spoton!! Lovely hosts and a great location for driving to walks in either direction. Heartily recommended. Definitely one of the best cottages we have stayed in. Thank you, Mari x
Andrew
The cottage was very comfortable with very friendly hosts. The cottage is well equipped, we had everything we needed and more. The location was great for exploring a very pretty part of Wales, although everything did require at least a short drive to visit. There is a nice view over the valley from the property although the cottage and site doesn't make the most of it there's not a clear view from inside the property. Also, as is expected from rural sites the internet connection was a little patchy at times. However, our stay was overwhelming positive, a warm, cosy, and very comfortable cottage with friendly and accomodating hosts. We'd be happy to stay here again.
Michael
A brilliant place to stay that had all the equipment you could want. Comfy beds, great kitchen, a wood burning stove to curl up by in the evening. In easy reach of lots of great walking in hills and by the sea our 4 year old climbed a lot of hills and ploughed through a lot of puddles! The track up was a little daunting at first but very manageable. The owner was very friendly and helpful and gave us good tips on things to do. I would definitely stay here again.
Denise
What a beautiful place to stay, the owners were amazing and kept the cottage fully equipped and a nice welcome pack included. Scenery from window is so picturesque. It is on the Mach Loop which is what we came on holiday for. Cottage felt very homely and we very much enjoyed our stay here. 10 out 10 for this property and would highly recommend it .
