Wesley Barn At Carines Barns Reviews

We had a wonderful holiday at Carines Ban great location lovely clean accommodation comfy beds we had four dogs with us and there was plenty of space. Very helpful host. Beautiful beaches at Holywell and Crantock we also played golf at Holywell Bay which is a nice 18 hole Par 3 course beautiful views. Paula October 25
We all agreed, the best accommodation we have stayed in Cornwall. Everything was perfect. Not our usual location but we could get everywhere we wanted to go easily. So peaceful too, just a few cows mooing and owls hooting in the evening. So good weve booked to come back twice in 26! Thank you Sarah
We have just spent a week in Wesley Barn and what an amazing place it was, we spent the first half hour wandering around just saying WOW. The Barn was beautifully presented and well equipped with everything we needed for our stay, as well as the dogs, with a lovely welcome pack for us and them. Having to go through the main bedroom to access the third bedroom was a little inconvenient with us all being adults but we made it work and it certainly didn't detract from the stunning property itself or our stay. The location was perfect for a relaxing holiday very quiet and peaceful but close enough to beaches and places of interest for days out. The information pack was very helpful suggesting places to visit even when the weather wasn't the best and also local eateries. We had a lovely meal at the Smugglers Den which was very dog friendly and walkable. The hot tub was a firm favourite and we used it most nights after busy days out, perfect end to the days. The enclosed garden was perfect for the dogs, we could let them out knowing they were safe and enjoyed sitting out ourselves on the sunnier days of our holiday. We had a fantastic stay but our week came to an end far too quickly. We wished we could have stayed longer and definitely hope to return again.
Lovely property and loved the initial WOW factor. Few niggily things...barbeque needs to be upgraded, for the money i expected a gas, top of the range bbq, .dishwasher filter was filthy, hot tub had dirty tide marks, shower gel dispenser in Master bathroom and second bathroom was rusty and not usable. For these reasons I would not stay here again
Absolutely 5 star holiday home , very stunning well presented barn , attention to detail and lovely welcoming hamper for us and the dogs! Stunning gardens perfect for bbq and chilling. Beds are so comfy, spacious kitchen for gathering. If I had to pick on anything it would be that more towels where needed for the amount of us, also hot tub wasnt the cleanest, but thats really being picky because everything out weighs those minor things , I would highly recommend this place ! We didnt want to leave and we could have done another week. Thank you Sarah you are also so lovely and welcoming.
Philip
Perfect could not ask for more from a holiday home

Weve just returned from a fantastic week at Carines Barns and couldnt be happier with our stay. The barn was beautifully presented clean, spacious, and wellequipped with everything we needed for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday. From the moment we arrived, we felt at home. The location is perfect peaceful and scenic, yet just a short drive from Crantock, Holywell Bay, and Newquay. We loved exploring the local area highlights included a brilliant day out at Lappa Valley, a fun visit to Newquay Zoo, and lots of time spent enjoying the beaches and countryside walks. It was the ideal base for both adventure and downtime. The hot tub was a particular highlight and made for some perfect evenings under the stars. We were also pleasantly surprised to find some logs and firelighters, which meant we could enjoy a wonderfully cosy evening by the fire after our soak a really thoughtful touch. We also appreciated the little details throughout the property plenty of kitchenware, comfortable beds, and lovely outdoor space. Communication from the hosts was excellent throughout friendly, helpful, and prompt to respond. We stayed as a family group, including my inlaws and young child, and the layout worked perfectly for all of us. If we had a couple of small suggestions, a new cheese grater perhaps a sturdy box grater! and an extra clothes airer would be really useful especially on those inevitable wet days in Cornwall. Sadly, we noticed the price for 2026 has increased by around 50, which puts it outside of our budget for next year. Thats a real shame, as we would have loved to return. Nonetheless, well absolutely be recommending Carines Barns to others looking for a relaxing and memorable stay in Cornwall. Thank you again for a brilliant week!
Sheila
We were absolutely blown away with the barn. The whole layout was perfect for us. The accommodation was spotless and felt luxurious throughout. The gardens and grounds just added to the beauty of the property. We met our host Sarah who was a lovely lady and keen to help. We really enjoyed our stay at Wesley barn and are already looking at dates for 2026. Sheila
Superb. Probably the best equipped cottage we have stayed at over the years. The location although out of the way makes for a great location to explore and walk to beaches pubs 45 mins. The hot tub was excellent and this cottage was ideal for dog owners to let their dogs run around the enclosed garden with no issues. The cottage is very spacious and 6 adults 3 dogs did not feel cramped at all. Would definitely love to stay there again
Stuart
Lovely 5 accomodation let down by a 1 cleaning company. Upon arrival all the rooms were checked. The sitting room was full of cobwebs all around the wall unit, behind the sofa. Dead bugs everywhere. The four poster bedroom was filthy underneath the bed. The bath was filthy & so was the floor behind it where the free standing taps are.The radiators were rusty. The upstairs bedroom mezzanine was an arachnophobics nightmare. Thick cobwebs from the roof beams down to the pillows & in the corners of the room. Spiders hanging from all over the place. The other lower floor bedroom was also filthy under the bed when we checked underneath. There was an odd sock, paper & a coin underneath & lots of dust. The kitchen was adequate with plenty of kitchenware, utensils & gadgets. The oven gloves need replacing as they were minging. They stunk. The tea towels weren't very clean, so it's a good job we had our own. The hot tub was allegedly cleaned out before our arrival. Somebody was lieing. It was yellowish brown in colour & thick brown tide marks on the wall sides. We reported the state of the place to Goldstar cleaning company who basically called us liars. Eventually somebody from the cleaning company came out & said a team of 3 would do a deep clean on the Monday. Only 1 cleaner came out & it was 1 who had supposed to have cleaned it properly in the first instance. The cleaner arrived all sarcastic & said I'm here to clean a few cobwebs & pick up a bit of dust. She said what's wrong with a few spiders, they are good for killing flies. The cleaner still missed areas that needed cleaning. The original hot tub man wasn't available, more like he couldn't face us.He told Goldstar he had pumped the hot tub out & cleaned it prior to our arrival. What a liar. Goldstar sent out another hot tub man who was great. He replaced the filter, gave the hot tub a thorough clean & refilled & checked it. He did a first class job. The scones & jam welcome pack had a big snail on the tray with the paper shavings. The clotted cream expired on the 20th June & we arrived on the 21st. The prosecco was very nice, thanks. If i was the owner of the property i would be changing the cleaning company as they are letting the lovely property down. The Sunday & Monday of our weeks holiday was wasted by cleaning or waiting for cleaners & the hot tub man. We have videos & photos to show the owner if heshe wishes. The property itself stands on a large plot with extensive gardens & is very dog friendly. The area is very peaceful & in a lovely location.
Beautiful spacious property! Owners very attentive to making our holiday enjoyable. Suggestions 1. As I love cooking and don't get the time to indulge my passion, I was somewhat disappointed with the quality and types of cookware, ie no lasagne dishes casserole dishes. The equipment in the kitchen is excellent, it was just the smaller items that could be improved. What baking trays there were have seen better days. I didn't use the bbq as the griddle did not seem clean. 2. My wife likes embroidery and reading. Unfortunately she was not able to do this due to poor lighting in the lounge and bedroom. This could be rectified by having brighter bulbs in the bedroom lamps, and lamps and a task light in the lounge. Also, the switches on the bedroom lamps were so far away from the bed, that you had to get out of the bed to turn them off. Again this issue would be easily corrected by either extending the cord or having an extension lead. The above issues could easily be rectified. If they were we would not hesitate to recommend 5 stars. Would we return? Having seen the price increase for 2026, we feel this unfortunately would be too expensive for us.

A really lovely holiday home with all that you can want for a week away. Plenty of space inside and out. In a great location for exploring Cornwall. Holywell Bay beach is the best in the UK according to my cocker spaniel and me! and just 5 mins away by car. Thank you for a thoroughly relaxing break.
We had a really great stay at Wesley Barn. The property had everything we needed for a brilliant week. So well equipped and comfortable. A perfect location for visiting the magnificent local beaches and as a base for visiting further afield we had a couple of great trips to the Minack theatre and St Ives. The fully equipped BBQ was a bonus, and we were lucky with the weather too! Would definitely stay again.
Lovely property, great host. Excellent facilities. Definitely going to come back.
Fantastic property to stay in, had been built and maintained to a very high standard. Enjoyed the location, with plenty to do in a short drive. Enjoyed takeaways from two businesses in Newquay. Stunning beaches at Perranporth and Holywell easily to get to
Rebecca
Lovely property in such a great location for local beaches. The house itself is well kitted out with everything you need for a home away from home holiday. Peaceful area and well maintained gardens make it enjoyable relaxing stay.
Philip
Wonderful property, Everything you could possibly want from a holiday home, Excellent location with local buses running at the top of the road.
A family of 4 plus my Mum and we couldnt have asked for anything more. Beautiful environment to relax in important for my Mum who isnt too mobile. The hot tub was greatly appreciated. Im extremely fussy when it comes to cleanliness and cant fault on this level. Great walk to Holywell Cove and a short drive to other beaches. Fantastic fish and chips in the village as well as a bakery.
Booked pet free house, found dog food and Equipment there on arrival Barns are quite humid Masterbed room four poster beds matrace is old and extremly soft with deep mulds very uncomfortably to sleep. Hot tub was not as promissed frehly filled on arrival found a lot of hair and sand in there also it was foaming a lot. Water and filter needs to be renewed.
Jennifer

The four poster bed is fab and the bathroom is so spacious! The kitchen is huge, everything you could need. So much outdoor space, and all enclosed. We had some issues with the hot tub and werent able to use for the first few days but Sarah was amazing, she went above and beyond to get sorted Thank you for such a lovely stay and for the many bottles of Prosecco! x
Gabrielle
We had an absolutely wonderful week and didn't want to leave! The barn is stunning , we were thoroughly spoilt with the goodies and prosecco and the maintenance team went above and beyond. Couldn't recommend more highly.
Robert
Thank you for a lovely stay at Wesley Barn. Everything has been so carefully thought about, from having a washing line at the back of the property to having corner covers on the island in the kitchen. There was nothing we didnt have for cooking & generally enjoying the stay. The master bathroom is stunning, powerful showers in both bathrooms. WiFi is brilliant & managed fine with four phones connected to it however no phone signal for calls which was bliss. Anyone who is tempted to book I would say go for it we have had a lovely stay. Cant wait to return! Thank you again x
Absolutely wonderful. Everything had been thought about. All the comforts of home whilst being in the most beautiful setting. Cant wait to return!
Samantha
Our holiday in this beautiful property was a real tonic. The barn was beautiful, comfy and very relaxing. The host was extremely thoughtful. We will definitely be back
Such a beautiful property! How could we fail to be impressed! It gave us everything we needed for the stress free week we were seeking. Sad as it sounds, I would have loved some cleaning products to keep that amazing kitchen clean throughout the week! And we were a little sad we couldn't utilise the hot tub on the first day. But overall it was pretty faultless. Thank you!
We had a wonderful stay at Wesley Barn, the facilities were exceptional, and everything was prepared beautifully prior to our arrival. A luxurious barn conversion as comfortable in winter as it would be in summer, a home away from home...just better!! The owners and property managers were kind, responsive and always well organised. Highly recommended.
Khalid
Absolutely a beautiful cottage barn! We always want a clean and comfortable place to stay and this barn was spotless! We love everything about it. The beds, the kitchen we love to eat , the huge toilet and bath in the master's! Everything u need, its in this place. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, the ambience. There's a bbq area and a hot tub but sadly unable to use it due to the bad weather. A good place to relax and unwind with the whole family. And also, thank you to the owners Sarah and Garth for the welcome pack and for letting us stay until 12noon. It was really nice of you. We are lookimg forward to stay here again.
