Top Barn Reviews

Top Barn was the perfect place to meet up as a group of 6 couples who were catching up for the weekend. The kitchen diner was our social place as we cooked, drank, ate and played games until late. Everything we needed to chill, catch up and recharge the batteries!
Suzanne
Top Barn was lovely & very spacious it had 6 good size bedrooms all ensuite & very comfortable. Ideal for a family get together. The welcome hamper was a lovely touch. Great views,we were lucky to see deer. Downside WiFi wasn't working & signal poor so unable to play 1 of the games that had been organised. The out door lights were not working which made walking to the hot tub quite dangerous. I did notify the owner of both issues. Overall I would recommend we had a great time.
We loved this venue. It was exactly what we were looking for. Everywhere was so spacious and couldve easily fitted more than 12 people in! Everything was clean and the space for parking was great! We easily managed 7 cars and couldve got more in. The owners had left a lovely welcome basket which was very appreciated! Only bit of improvement was the WiFi didnt quite work in all rooms and didnt work in the top bedrooms which meant Netflix couldnt be used in those bedrooms.
Lesley
The barn was amazing extremely spacious, comfortable and beautifully clean. It is exactly as described on the website. The kitchen was the best equipped I have ever encountered and it's wonderful to have a dining table that can seat everyone. The bedrooms are all about the same size and so convenient to have an ensuite in each one the beds were very comfortable too. For a large group we were 7 adults and 3 children it is lovely to have 2 separate sitting rooms. The hot tub is also a huge bonus. We had a little problem with the dishwasher but the owner was extremely quick to respond and a repair was undertaken very swiftly. We had a fabulous few days and, without reservation, I would recommend Top Barn.

Hi Becky, Thanks for coming back to me. Following on from the Sykes Cottages Survey that I was sent to complete on our 1st night stay at Top Barn, I'd like to expand on some other issues that we are now encountering Both Showers in the Loft ensuite Bathrooms have issues with Temperature Control. In one ensuite the water will not regulate to a cold enough temperature to have a Shower. In the other ensuite, the Shower Temperature Control Knob keeps falling off. The Dishwasher isn't working properly & pretty much anything put in is having to be manually re washed. Also water has on occasions been ponding at the bottom of the Dishwasher. On arrival, most of the Plates & Cups were found dirty in the Cupboard. Probably a result of the Dishwasher not working properly. A lot of the Pans are not useable, some dirty, most scratched & one burnt. Please see attached photo. Not a major issue, but many Cobwebs have been found in variously rooms around the House. With the reputation of Sykes Cottages & price of stay, finding these accommodation issues has been a surprise very dissapointing for me who found the property, my husband & our close friends. Please feel free to call me or my husband Chris 07708 663194 to discuss should you wish too.
Suzanne
Absolutely stunning property. Exactly as advertised and the communication before we arrived was fabulous and a great touch to ensure the beds were as we needed them to be. And it was all lovely and clean too. Well equipped kitchen and loads of space for us all. Everyone one of us loved every aspect of the house and the location. It was perfect for us thank you.
Simone
The accomodation was perfect for a hen party weekend. The house was extremely well stocked with supplies couldn't believe it! Beautiful location, very well priced and we enjoyed every minute thankyou!
We had the pleasure of staying at this amazing house. 12 friends.. loads of space amazing kitchen everything you could wish for, very spacious bedrooms all with on suites, enough seating in the lounge for everyone. Hot tub was wonderful and amazing views. Local rippondon is a lovely place to visit with great pubs. Owner sent great instructions and looked after us whilst we were there many thanks We will definitely be returning
The property is lovely, with plenty of spa space for a large group. We were let down by two shower heads being broken and the fact the biomass system ran out of pellets and which meant we didnt have hot to shower on the day of the funeral we were attending. That made everything extremely stressful for the family. Someone came to add pellets but the water didnt heat up quick enough, so we had cold showers!!! The property needs recycling bins. Otherwise, the property was well equipped.
A fabulous, spacious house, with 6 bedrooms, all ensuite & each bedroom being as nice as the other. Kitchen equipped with everything you need. Fabulous hot tub to relax in at the end of each day. A perfect location for walking & visiting nearby towns & villages. Becky, the owner was so helpful, leaving us spare bedding & towels for change of guests & being super helpful. I would highly recommend .
Amanda

Absolutely wonderful stay at Top Barn. Really is as described and we loved every minute. Becky and her team could not have looked after us more. The underfloor heating meant we were always warm and snug despite the autumn weather. Very well equipped and had pretty much everything we needed although some comfy seating in the huge kitchen to appreciate the views , and some robes to use for the hot tub would have been even better. The fact that all the bedrooms could be doubles or twins really worked for us. Highly recommend!
The barn was absolutely beautiful! Such a good space to catch up with people and entertain, all bedrooms are en suit and of a good size. It was wonderful to spend time there. I would happily do so again!
With just more attention to detail and updates this could be a fantastic place e. G. better towels, pillows and duvets get rid of those hideous mattress protectors repair the leaking shower in the front right hand side bedroom secure the loose tap fixture in the back left hand side bedroom add hand rails or nonslip bath mats a shelf for hair and body wash put a sofa andor comfy chairs in the kitchendining area so the view can be admired dressing gowns to get to and from the hot tub. The kitchen was well equipped and we did enjoy our stay.

The absolute perfect place to stay. We couldnt have loved it more. The location was brilliant, lovely barn, all the rooms were equally great and the downstairs had amazing social spaces. Were already planning our trip back here!
Top Barn is a fantastic holiday location, it was large enough for all our family to be together and we all had a great time. The kitchen had everything we needed, all the showers were independent so no running out of hot water! hot tub was amazing. Would definitely recommend as a place to stay in rural Yorkshire.
The burn was absolutely fantastic, the pictures dont do the property justice. Lovely owner and very accommodating. Would highly recommend and will Aim to return.
From the directions Becky supplied us pictures included on where to turn and where the property is too checking out, it was all smooth sailing. An absolutely beautiful property, plenty spacious for big gatherings with everyone having their own space when needed. All the bedrooms are very similar and there was even a baby gate which was perfect as we had a very active 1 year old with us. The hot tub was cleaned often and boasts a lovely view which we didn't realise we would have! Unfortunately due to Covid we didn't get to sample the local pubs but there is a lovely farm shop only a short walk away, where the sausage rolls are amazing. We will defiantly return in the future, thanks Becky!
Fantastic cottage, better than we expected. Every room was lovely and it was perfect for families or big groups. We would all love to return.
Honestly could not have been happier! Was the perfect place for us and we really had the best time!
