Meadow View Reviews

This was our second time staying at Meadow View. We just loved the place last year and came back to visit Alton Towers again. It's peaceful, clean, incredibly spacious and warm. Plenty of space for all eight of us.The owners are very responsive and helpful. Lovely surrounding countryside. We visited Buxton and Bakewell. Great tea room and book shop down the road too. Would thoroughly recommend.

Perfect accomodation for an extended family birthday celebration in January. The space was brilliant for our age range young children, parents and grandparents. Lovely and warm and flexible radiator temperatures and great showers. We arrived just as heavy snow was settling and the owners kept us updated on local road closures and best routes. A memorable weekend!
Claire
Lovely cottage and great stay at New Year local walks and areas to visit
Claire
We loved the cottage, was perfect for our family weekend away. Fabulous social space upstairs and very well equipped in the kitchen for a large group. Only downside was that you could hear footsteps upstairs when lying in bed but as we were all awake around the same time, it wasnt a problem
We were very impressed with the venue, particularly the upstairs space. It was perfect for our two families. We enjoyed hanging out there. Downstairs was generally good too, perhaps a little dark due to low natural light but no big deal. The electric heaters worked well and the venue held a good warmth without being stuffy. Beautiful location, near bookshop cafe, Morrisons, Aldi, Buxton itself, which was a really lovely place to visit. Had the best day at Alton Towers . Owners were very attentive and helpful. The kitchen knives could do with a sharpen. All in all a great stay. Would definitely recommend. Many thanks.
Lovely property, well equipped, comfortable, spacious and attractive. The upper floor is the open lan living area. Lots of parking outside de the property. Close to nice walks and pretty towns. If I was going to make one suggestion, it would be to make an upstairs cloakroom. Having said that , its no big deal to go downstairs to the many comfortable bathrooms.
We traveled as a group of junior football coaches for a walking weekend and a few drinks in Buxton, staying for 2 nights. The accommodation was spacious and wellequipped. The owners were very accommodating, even providing a BBQ for us to use for a small charge that wasn't listed. Despite our group of 11, it never felt crowded. Although not every room was ensuite, there were plenty of showers, and the hot water remained consistently hot. As a respectful but occasionally lively group, we appreciated the thick walls which kept noise levels manageable. The location is ideal for walks we tackled Kinder Scout and found the Monsail Trail accessible to those with children. Its important to be mindful of noise if you're upstairs, but other than that, it was the perfect place to stay!
The property was the perfect rural setting with Buxton less than 10 mins away in a taxi. The property was immaculate and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed for 12 of us. The hosts were friendly and full of information.
Brilliant place to stay, thank you very much for having us!

Meadow View was the perfect location for our large family gathering. The property is spacious and incredibly well equipped. With a double cooker and two fridges it was easy to shop and cook for everyone. Everything was spotlessly clean on arrival. The beds were super comfy. The property is in a great location for visiting the beautiful area surrounding it. There are endless places to visit within a 3040 minute drive. We would definitely aim to go back.
It was a extremely clean and comfortable barn. The kitchen was well equipped. It would be beneficial to up date the DVDTV equipment. We all enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider coming back.
Lovely accommodation, well equipped kitchen and fantastic space for large groups.
Excellent accommodation, perfect for the coming together of two adult families. Hosts are very helpful. Location is 23miles from Buxton so need your own transport. We would recommend.

The property was lovely, as were the complimentary biscuits thank you very much! . The space is HUGE! There were only 4 of us and we never felt on top of each other. The kitchen was very well equipped and we didn't want for anything. Lovely and clean and bright. We all found the beds to be very comfortable and the towels are FABULOUS!!!! I would however advise caution when booking if you have any sight or mobility concerns there is a steep flight of stairs, with dark carpet and no rail on the wall, just the bannister. Outside, there are three steps to the front door the second step is rather higher than the others, and again, no rail. It may not be a problem for others but it certainly caused problems for one member of our party. Other than that, I would recommend Meadowview we may even return!

A beautifully furnished, well equipped and spacious barn conversion set in a quiet village close to Buxton. Could walk along footpaths in various directions. Lovely hosts Andrew and Lucy. Everything we wanted for an extended family weekend for three generations from 5 to over 70! Thank you.
A fantastic place to stay, celebrating my husband's 60th with friends. Plenty of walking, eating and socialising . Great location for visiting Buxton, by foot if you wish. Very comfortable with everything you would need and The Naughty Lounge wasn't even sat in .
Pauline
Excellent, we had a wonderful stay with everything we could possibly need, very warm and cosy but with plenty of room . Hopefully we'll be back, can't recommend it enough. Thank you x
Samantha
Stayed for 4 days 3 nights, perfect house has everything you need, fully equipped house. The location is perfect for a cosy weekend away with stunning views for walks and homely pubs for drinks and food would highly recommend and will definitely be visiting back to the property!!
Lesley
Great place for a family get together, lots of room for eleven of us. On site owners friendly and helpful, lovely fresh eggs from the farm. Good location, plenty to do in the area, would stay again
Andrea
Great property, fully equipped, lots of space for the amount of guests it caters for. A few guests state beds were bit on soft side
This was a great base to explore the area. The house was well equipped and comfortable.
Wonderful property for a large group. Ventilation in the bedrooms could be better, we were very warm. However that is better than being cold. A few of the beds had spring bases that were noisy but overall comfort was good. One shower was draining slowly so perhaps needs looking at. Otherwise it was just perfect.
Matthew
Booked this holiday cottage for a weekend get together with old friends. The cottage is in an excellent location, and the place itself was really comfortable, clean and spacious. Would definitely consider booking again for future holidays!
Jennifer
Lovely comfortable break. Whole family from ages 2 84 enjoyed it, even teenagers! The accommodation had everything we needed, owners were friendly and the surroundings were beautiful. Only downside was the weather! We would happily return
Lauren
We were a party of 9 visiting for a trail and yoga weekend. This was the first one that Ive organised so I was nervous about everything going well. Meadow View exceeded expectation, it was the perfect setting for our group and we loved the open plan upstairs space. We would definitely love to visit again.
We arrived to a warm welcome. The milk and biscuits inside the property were appreciated. The property was very clean and comfortable and there was plenty of room for the 9 of us. The kitchenliving area really had the 'wow' factor when we went upstairs. Beds were comfortable. We were impressed by the attention to detail like the 2 kettles needed for our large party and the rechargeable torch in the hall for dark nights. We loved the long table for us all to eat and play games at. Everything necessary had been thought about and provided. A great place to stay
A great property, in an ideal location. Very well equipped, plenty of room for 12. Would recommend.
What a fabulous place. Lovely welcome upon arrival with basics provided ie teacoffee and biscuits which was fab. Highly recommend and will be returning again at some point.
Kayleigh
We had a weekend stay to celebrate a 30th birthday, a mix of couples, friends and kids. It was fantastic. The properly is a great size and the kids loved the snug off the main living area, where we set up an Xbox for them. I was blown away by how well stocked it was, it had everything we needed in the kitchen, and bathrooms. The owners have thought of everything. I don't think there is a single improvement that I could suggest. Well done!
Lovely clean property, we enjoyed our stay. You need a new toaster though. Would definitely stay again.
We had a fantastic week at Meadow View for our annual 3 generation gathering. House well equipped and comfortable. Friendly owners onsite and were able to sort out a couple of minor issues very quickly. Only about 10 mins drive to Buxton. Lots of walks nearby. Would definitely recommend this property.
Kirbie
Honestly, a fantastic stay. The location was great, it looked exactly like the photos, the property was lovely, we had a brilliant time!
Michael
My family and I 10 of us thoroughly enjoyed our annual pre Christmas 'get together' week at Meadow view. The huge livingdining area was particularly useful for children to play and everyone to get around the dinner table together. The house was warm and comfortable during a very cold week. An excellent position in the countryside but close to Buxton and in easy reach of Bakewell, Castleton, Tideswell and all the places that make the Peak district so special. I'm happy to recommend Meadow view unreservedly.
We really enjoyed our stay here with friends. Well equipped kitchen and the open plan lounge is comfy. Owners very helpful. Great location just outside Buxton suited those in our group who wanted to shop while others in the group went walking from the cottage.
This was a fantastic property for our group of friends on a weekend get together. All bedrooms a good size, an amazing social space and good location with nice walk to the nearby pub of The Church Inn. Would definitely stay again!
Extremely satisfied satisfied with the property, it suited us perfectly. An excellent base for exploring the area.
