Thompson Rigg House Reviews

Christopher
First class welcome, excellent accommodation, spotlessly clean, very well equipped. Alan and Helen were also friendly and very helpful with local information. Would highly recommend.
A delightful, spacious, well appointed, extremely cosy and comfortable house nestled in the heart of the most beautiful countryside. Hosts Alan and Helen are very welcoming and generous and are on site if needed. It is immersed in wonderful wildlife and scenery and a real escape from it all. A wonderful enjoyable experience which left us wanting to go back for more.
Fabulous stay at Thompson Rigg, very well appointed house, everything exceptionally clean and comfortable. Plenty of room to relax both inside and out. Set in beautiful country side with great walks from the door. Remote with access off farm tracks and no shopspubs near by so come prepared with your food but for us that was the attraction.
Absolutely incredible, will definitely be staying there again. Amazing hosts, the most beautiful setting and an unbelievable house. All my family loved it and want us to book for a longer stay.
Stephen
We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at Thompson Rigg House. A friendly welcome on arrival, very well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and a hot tub with powerful jets! Loads of soft, fluffy towels too! The property is remote and we loved that aspect. Truly, a get away from it all break to recharge the batteries. Thank you.
Everything was perfect and exactly as advertised. Lovely friendly hosts amazing cottage and location. Very happy.
Rebecca
Absolutely beautiful property in a stunning location. The cottage exceeded expectations, it had everything you could want and more. Spotlessly clean. Loved feeding the donkeys we miss saying hello to Buddy!! Slept so well whilst there so relaxing! The outdoor area was lovely with a wood burner and hot tub perfect way to spend an evening looking at the clear sky. It may be remote but that's part of its beauty.
Victoria
Lovely well equipped, comfortable and clean house in a beautiful and peaceful setting. Our children loved feeding the donkeys and sheep and splashing in the hot tub. The owners Alan & Helen are very kind, friendly, welcoming and hospitable. Lots of good things to do in the area. We hope to be back!

A beautiful property in a beautiful location! Hosts were friendly and welcoming! We had a wonderful week, the cottage had everything we needed and more. The hottub was lovely and nothing beat sitting and relaxing in the garden with our morning coffee, listening to the birds and animals that surrounded us. Our daughter especially loved the friendly donkeys and sheep that were on the doorstep! She even wanted to bring them home! A great location for peace and tranquility, exploring the Forest or getting to towns like Whitby and Scarborough
We have had such a wonderful stay at Thompson Rigg and have already recommended it to friends. We would certainly visit again and hope to get there soon. If you enjoy peace and quiet and escape from all the busy, this is the place for you. Enjoy the Moors, the hot tub and the beautiful Dalby Forest. Helen and Alan are wonderful hosts who give you space but are there should you need themthey went above and beyond for us to make our stay wonderful for a special birthday. Thank you.
What a fabulous week we had at Thompson Rigg House. This amazing property was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for a super experience. Our hosts Alan and Helen were very helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The last 10 miles of the journey was through Dalby forest drive ending on a stone track for about a mile and a half with a shallow ford 100m from the house. This was a brilliant drive, quite an adventure adding to the holiday experience. Walk about 50m from the property and you are on Thompson's Rigg, National Trust, what a lovely walk. The hot tub was very welcome to relax in after a busy day. All in all a fantastic place to stay in. If I could, I would give it 10 stars!!
