The Walton Reviews

Rosemary
We loved our stay. The accommodation is very spacious with a well supplied kitchen please can you add a tin opener. The real highlight for us was having access to the tennis court, table tennis in the barn and the swimming pool.
What a lovely place. Met by a friendly and kind host who showed us round. The cottage was well appointed, spacious and comfortable. Everything was clean and tidy. Really enjoyed the tennis court and pool. Would highly recommend
We have a lovely holiday at The Walton. The pool was an extra bonus but no mention on the listing that it closes 4.30pm daily. The bedrooms were nice with all bathrooms newly refurbished with showers, although we would have preferred at least one bath. Very nice size kitchen, but the dining room was unnecessary cramped with lots of spare tables and chairs. The games room consists of only one table tennis table but no balls provided. Would also have been nice had there been some board games in the property.

We had a really enjoyable week at The Waltons which was ideal for our three generation family. The layout was ideal for us and we made full use of the pool, tennis court, garden and playbarn. The kitchen was extremely well equipped and a broken toaster was replaced immediately. Some of the showers have been replaced and have overhead rather than hand held showers. We did feel the carpets could do with replacing as they were very worn and tired in places, but otherwise we had a great time.

We are are Americans so take this with a grain of salt please! Having a 6 night stay and less then a full roll of toilet paper was a shocking experience! We would also have expected more then 1 bath towel for 6 night stay. No tissues or napkins on site. we went out and bought the above items We were not used to the hot water being on zones or timers. Many of use experienced cold showers in the morning because of the heat being off in the morning. Pay close attention to the shower pictures when you review this property, some of these showers are only a tub with a handheld shower head! The shower we had, was wall mounted but the wall was painted so the paint is peeling off as you shower. The managers were very apologetic when they ran out of heating oil, and offered to do some laundry for us!

Had a wonderful stay at Walton. Beautiful large farmhouse, with plenty of space to house everyone two living rooms was in particular fantastic, and the kitchendining room had plenty of equipment to cook and serve a full course the two dishwashers were a lifesaver! Owners were very responsive to any and all questions, including requests for extra toilet roll, check in times, and the facilities available such as the swimming pool, and children's play area! Local tesco, sainsbury and aldi. Highlight was Stokesay castle for an afternoon of exploring. Would not hesitate to book again!
Had a lovely time away with all of my family 15 of us lol Would recommend to ... Had a lovely time away with all of my family 15 of us lol Would recommend to friends and family Will definitely be back
Robert
The location was lovely with fantastic country views, the beds were very comfortable and the level layout was ideal for small children to run around. The pool was an additional bonus. However, we preordered a click and collect shop only to find a single, very small freezer available at the property totally insufficient for a party of 16. They was plenty plate, bowls and cups but a large number of these were covered in food residue, we ended washing all the crockery before we felt we were able to use it. The property is in need of a good clean and maintenance. Some door surrounds and latches were hanging off. Carpets could do with a clean, cobwebs and spiders everywhere particularly noticeable on the dirty glass light in the dining room. Quite a few of the windows didn't open, particularly in the kitchen and on our last morning a torrential downpour on the tennis court side of the house saw a large amount of rain coming in around the window frames in the lounge and dining areas, we needed to use tea towels to soak up the puddles. It wouldn't take much for this property to be brought up to really nice standard, just a bit of love. It already benefits from fantastic views and a really relaxed atmosphere
