Hay Store Reviews

Lesley
Loved the whole place, fantastic views although having lived in Clawdnewydd, Llaneliaden and Graigadwywynt they came as no surprise. Would have liked directions from the A5. A measuring jug in the kitchen would have been handy, or did we miss that? Otherwise a well stocked kitchen. Comfortable and roomy accessible bedroom with room for my scooter and stroller along with my husband's electric wheelchair and commode. We had brought our own ramp so the lip on the front door did not cause a problem. Altogether a lovely stay even though we were not in the property much. The patio was a great place to relax. Thank you for such a homely place to stay for our two days visit.
We booked a fivenight dogfriendly break based on the listing stating there was an enclosed area close by to walk your dog and let them run free. In reality, this turned out to be a tiny gravel pen, not remotely what was reasonably implied, and there was nowhere suitable to walk our dog locally without having to drive elsewhere. There was also ongoing noise disturbance from nearby houndsdogs, which unsettled both us and our dog. To make matters worse, the bed frame in the property was loose and unstable, forcing us to put the mattress on the floor to sleep. We raised concerns shortly after arrival and gave an opportunity for the issues to be resolved, but ultimately had to leave early because the property was unsuitable.
The situation of the property and cleanliness were good. But there were significant deficiencies e.g. no heat available in the bedrooms the weather was cold and we needed heat but no apparent means to get the radiators going the larger towels in the bathshower rooms were far too small no heat available in towel rails to dry towels no hand towel in the kitchen we had great difficulty getting the dishwasher to work and there were no instructions though a Welcome Pack is usual and one is mentioned in the Sykes documentation there was no such thing.
Perfect accommodation in a stunning location. Everything that you needed was in the lodge.

Wow what a view! The Hay Store was stunning, spotlessly clean, well equipped, spacious and comfortable with great mattresses and bedding. The hot tub was wonderful to relax in and enjoy the incredible views of the Welsh valley and hills looking out over a field of beautiful cows. We loved the goats out the front and views from the master bedroom of the river below. Thank you for a fantastic stay.
The Hay store was a lovely cottage in an idyllic setting, just the place to destress. Hot tub was checked every morning and items such as eggs, milk, wash up liquid and hand sanitizers left for us was very thoughtful.
Julia the owner was very courteous and knowledgeable of the local area. The Haystore was clean, spacious, relaxing with amazing views. Me and my partner didnt want to come home.
Already told the owner that the lamp in our room wasnt working and the shower in the other bedroom leaked.
Clean and comfortable. Wifi was poor. Some soft lightinglampshades in the living room would be good.
Cant fault the cottage at all, it was super clean, with everything you would need for a lovely break away. Even fly spray was most appreciated. Just wish we had booked to stay longer to explore the area more. Hopefully visit sometime soon.
Wonderful place to stay
We had such an amazing stay at hay store! Everything was perfect , from location to cleanliness in the cottage. Views are awesome, hot tub was looked after by host every morning, we even had fresh free range eggs and milk on welcome. Very nice inside and outside. Loved the morning view with a cup of coffee in the mountains and fields of sheep and little lambs playing around. Owner was very friendly and kind. We really really enjoyed at this place and will definitely come back there ! Nice private place if you want a good break from humans and city. Loved it and rate it millions of stars!!!!
