Garden Cottage, Kerry

We enjoyed the stay for a week. Spacious property ample room for a family of 7 plus 3 dogs. The room for disabled was ideal for a severely sighted person. A request for additions to the toilet being better lighting especially over the mirror and a disabled chair inthe shower plus place to put sponge shower gel etc. The shower needs attention it floods towards the bedroom. A special request would be a clothes washing machine in the kitchen

We enjoyed the break, but several issues with the property let the holiday down here are a few One of the bedrooms was only accessible by leaving the main building and entering through a separate door, or by walking directly through another bedroom, which wasnt ideal for privacy. The handover and maintenance regime seemed largely absent. We only found the welcome pack just a list of phone numbers halfway through the week, underneath a sofa. The hot tub was attended to only after we reported a smell, and the cooker ran out of gas midmeal with no replacement canisters available on site. The light above the cooker, and in one of the showers, didnt work. Basic provisions were lacking in the kitchen there was no hand towel or handwash, just one teatowel for nine guests for the entire week, no oven gloves, and the dining table seated eight rather than nine. There were five teabags. A washing machine would also have been useful. Cleanliness fell short of expectations. What appeared to be mouse droppings were found in two of the showers. The fridge had a significant buildup of ice at the back. There were no bath towels anywhere in the property. The flies were an incessant bother throughout the stay. The WiFi setup also seemed poorly thought through. It appeared to rely on a central router and a single access point for each property, and the bandwidth in ours was insufficient for even modest use. Overall, the location was pleasant, but the property needs more attentive management, better preparation between guests, and some investment in basic infrastructure.

Enjpoyed our stay, weather could have been kinder,didn't get chance to fish the pools. I am 92 and found the ground floor ensuite bathroom walk in shower wonderful. THe rest of my family enjoyed their stay, so thank you from us all, M W Nield

Lovely cosy cottage. Overall very comfortable and good facilities especially every bedroom having an ensuite. Surprising lack of cutlery with the number catered for and out of keeping with the number of glasses which was very generous. The TVs could do with a modern upgrade one in the bedroom didnt work at all and no remote control.

We came here with friends and kids we loved it clear instructions to follow. We loved the cottage beautiful surroundings the hot tub was great very spacious there was 8 of us. We went to the local pub and town everyone was very friendly. Would certainly book again.

Lovely property, very spacious and as per the listing. Close to Newtown where you could get to lots of supermarkets and shops, if needed. Lots of outside space, especially for kids to play in and go for long walks. Kitchen had all the utensils and crockery needed to cook for us all a party of 9. Hot tub was a nice touch!

Beautiful cottage in quiet location. Very well equipped and clean. Hot tub was a bonus and the log burner kept us warm as weather was cold. It provided all the space we needed for a family gathering. Very welcoming of children and dog. Plenty of parking spaces. The owner, Matt , was welcoming and checked in on us to make sure everything was good. Cannot fault our stay and hopefully can return.

We had a lovely weeks stay here. A great base for exploring the WelshEnglish border with lots of castles and quaint towns to visit.

We had a lovely time at Garden cottage. The setting was lovely and rural. We had relaxing evenings by the fire and out in the hot tub. The house was huge, warm and wellequipped. The owners were great and very helpful. We had trips out to Montgomery a lovely, quaint little village with castle ruins and to Powys Castle. A good, reasonably priced meal can be found 10 minutes away at The Sarn pub. A lovely stay had by the whole family.

Fabulous property, in a wonderful location, hosts were amazing

The cottage was great with a fantastic hot tub. It was located in a quiet area but still only a short drive to a supermarket to stock up on food and drink. The owners were great and very helpful. The cottage was spacious with games and DVD's to entertain you.

Lovely stay here at garden cottage, the new owners are doing really well with property, nothing was too much to ask. Hot tub a lovely bonus, and the two chickens wandering round always made us laugh, which we christened Bert & Ernie x

What a fantastic week we have had at Garden Cottage. We arrived to be greeted by the new owners who had arrived the same day. Through out the week they where very helpful and welcoming. The property had everything we needed including creaky staircases which added to the charm of the place.The hottub was a huge hit in the evening. The grounds are lovely with short walks around the ponds was ideal with a dog. Newtown is a short 10 minute drive and has all the amenities you could ask for, very dog friendly. Devils Bridge was a nice visit and then onto cardigan bay for fish and chips. Highly recommend this place and the best of luck to the new owners on their new adventure.
