Conkers' Cottage Reviews

Stephen
A lovely peaceful and comfortable place to stay. Very well equipped so self catering was easy. More comfortable outside furniture and a parasol would have been appreciated so as to further enjoy the wonderful surroundings and glorious weather. The back door wasnt always easy to lock unlock however this didnt detract from a wonderful stay. Ed was very welcoming and quickly came to sort out a problem with the TV. We wouldnt hesitate to recommend and hope to return.
Just perfect. We had a lovely stay in a wonderful area. We will definitely aim to come again Highly recommended.
Lovely hideaway close to walks in the wood. Although owners live on site there is plenty of privacy. Owners very helpful if needed. Conkers is beautifully furnished, comfortable and warm. Upstairs has plenty of room, lovely little room upstairs with a children,s area to play. Enclosed patio useful when sunny and ideal if you have a dog to keep secure. We will be recommended to a family member. Thank you conkers for a lovely stay Jan 20th27th 2026.
Access is good, with only last three miles being along narrow roads with passing places. Cottage in a great peaceful spot with lovely views. The cottage is much bigger than the website shows. Everything was spotless. Kitchen very well equipped and lounge furniture and beds great quality and extremely comfortable. Heating although electric kept the place warm and cosy even on low. The owners were very friendly and extremely helpful. We had a great stay and would not hesitate to book again in the future
Valerie

We had a beautiful sunny week in the Shropshire hills, based at this very nice accommodation on a working farm. It is very spacious, spotless, and comfortable. There is a great deal to see and particularly outdoor things to do without having to go very far. So many wonderful castles, and pretty small towns with good places to eat. We enjoyed our holiday enormously and feel recharged needed, as we are trying to sell our house!
Christopher
We have had a great time and its a lovely place & cottage. Happy to come back. Tip for the owners Need to sort out the locks on all doors as due to the weather the oak doors and doorframes have shrunken and need love and care.
Robert

Conkers cottage was clean and comfortable. On arrival the upstairs was very cold, it was January and during a very cold spell but as soon as we turned up the heat we warmed up. Fantastic walks from the property. Kitchen was well equipped.
Excellent facilities. Very comfortable stay on a working farm. Great base for exploring the Shropshire Hills. Highly recommend.
Jacqueline
The cottage was extremely spacious, very clean, very well equipped and in a great location for walking in the Shropshire Hills. We would very likely choose this cottage again in the future if visiting Shropshire again.
We had a lovely stay, in a wonderfully converted barn, very well furnished. The welcome pack was very welcome! The only small negative was the amount of flies that we had to contend with, which I suppose is what you'd expect to find on a working farm.
Lesley
Fabulous spacious cottage which had everything we needed. Lovely setting, the owners and their children were very welcoming. We had a great holiday and would definately recommend
Barbara
A comfortable, well equipped cottage in beautiful surroundings. We did hit a problem which was resolved immediately. A perfect place to explore the attractions of the area. We enjoyed our stay in this cottage very much and I am looking forward to returning at the end of August beginning of September with a friend.
A well appointed, clean, quiet and comfortable cottage in an idyllic corner of Shropshire
Isobel
Had a very pleasant week. The cottage is very nice with comfortable setteeschairsbeds. Wine & cake appreciated. A few more mugs would be useful to make more use of the dishwasher. Great for our dog with walks straight from the cottage. We would definitely visit again.
Fabulous stay. Very relaxing and central to many places. Great place to recharge your batteries. Would definitely stay again if in that area. Thank you.
Lovely quiet and spacious cottage in peaceful setting but easily accessible to amenities. Well furnished and very comfortable beds. Many great walks available from the farm.
Lovely comfy beds and sofas all very clean. If you have a dog you can only walk up the lane, which is very muddy as there is only a patio.would be lovely in dry weather.Dogs are not allowed upstairs, notice on the door. There is no phone signal but we did manage to catch the owners with a problem and the man was very efficient in dealing with it. Would come back in better weather, only came in February as meeting up with our 2 year old dogs sisters.
Beautiful cottage very quiet and relaxing. Walks from door and surrounding areas super. Beds very comfortable. The little touches of the play room and toys for toddlers is a lovely touch. Will go back.
This was our 2nd visit do that should tell you how much we love staying here. Cosy, very well appointed, spacious and spotlessly clean. Beautiful location with fabulous views. The owners are lovely. Highly recommended. We'll be back!
Carole
This is a beautifully furnished and equipped holiday cottage set in a lovely location. As warm and cosy as you want to make it. We arrived in wet weather but when we entered through the boot room, well we called it that, we were able to hang our wet clothes up to dry. There was even a hose outside so we could wash our muddy boots, and the dog, before we came in. Lovely welcome pack of wine and cake. We really wanted to stay forever!
Absolutely stunning cottage in a beautiful location. So quiet. Fabulous position for numerous walks either from the door or just a short drive away. Were hoping to return with our wonderful walking friends in the next year.
Philip

A beautiful, well appointed and comfortable cottage in a beautiful location, perfect for leisurely walks. The beds were very comfortable we all slept like logs. The welcome wine was a lovely touch. We would definitely return.
Michael
A wonderful stay and very comfortable. Just a few pointers in relation to minor cleanliness and maintenance issues Toilet brushholders could do with replacing Patio door latches outside missing so nothing to secure them in the breeze Master bedroom curtain hook missing Another hairdryer in second bedroom and small mirror on the shelf would be useful. We would certainly stay again
This is the place to stay for peace and quiet you can only hear the birds sing. Well fitted out and comfy,no cost spared here everything is top quality, long walks direct from cottage and a delicious welcome pack. The owners were a pleasure to meet and very helpful pity we couldn't stay longer due to medical conditions,we'll done all round loved it Derek
Conker Cottage is situated in a beautiful part of the country and being on a working farm makes it more charming. One small irritant was the down stairs bathroom , A The emitting stench . B size, dont try to use it if you are over a size 10 So, would we back ? Yes, as soon as the problems with the bathroom is sorted .
Returned yesterday from a lovely holiday spent at Conkers Cottage.
