Caner Bach Lodge Reviews

We had such a lovely stay here, the cottage is in a stunning location, the owners are so lovely and friendly and it was so nice getting to see and hear the animals on the farm!

Staying at Caner Bach Lodge was lovely, we went away for a chill and relaxing weekend and thats exactly what we got, accompanied by three furry friends, they was all so lovely and kind hearted. Carys showed us around the lodge and let us know everything about it as well as having another few interactions with Carys and Kerry and all were so lovely, kind and helpful. Both hosts so kind and made us feel very welcome into their home. The lodge itself had everything you could needwant and was very comfy and cosy as well. Decorations in the lodge was so lovely and had that nice feel to it! As well as the beautiful touch added for valentines weekend We will definitely be coming back here no doubt! Thankyou both so much and we look forward to seeing you both and all the animals again

Absolutely lovely little lodge, so clean, cosy and comfortable, perfect for a ... Absolutely lovely little lodge, so clean, cosy and comfortable, perfect for a completely relaxing break, views are amazing and the owners were very welcoming, also pet friendly so our dog loved it
Caner bach Lodge is ideally situated in an elevated position on a hill farm giving lovely far reaching views and access to many footpaths straight from the door. The owners are very welcoming even helping me to unpack my car and were on hand if I had any questions or queries. The welcome pack they left for me was a lovely thoughtful touch. They provided lots of information about the area and gave me ideas for things I might like to do. The lodge is cosy and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay, lots of thought had gone into furnishing the property and making the most of the building's space. Staying here gives access to a variety of countryside and coastline, there is also an excellent Designer Outlet about 3.5 miles from the property if you can drag yourself away from the countryside and coast and feel like a shopping half day. It was a very peaceful place to stay and to explore.

What a wonderful place in which to relax. Great views, great walking country or just chill. However not too far from amenities including an outlet centre for shoppers and the sea. Fossil hunting at Dunraven beach if that's your thing! Host's were extremely helpful and welcoming
Hosts were very welcoming and friendly.
Stunning views from a peaceful, wellplaced location made every moment feel home away from home everyday. The cottage is well equipped with thoughtful touches that made us feel right at home. The bed was very comfy, perfect after a day of exploring. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing, like a little sanctuary. We had great day tripsa sunny beach visit and a nice hike in the national park, both easy to reach from the cottage. Lots of friendly animals around added charm. Cary and Kerry were fantastic hostswarm, attentive, and they even offered to watch our dog so we could go out for a bit. If I come back to Wales, this is where Id stay againgreat value for a memorable experience.
This was an absolute gem of a place to stay. The little cottage was in a great location but also where you could also unwind and relax. It had all the amenities that you would need and everything was carefully thought about even plates for our little boy to use. Kerry and Carys were extremely welcoming and helpful during our stay. We brought our little boy and he absolutely loved it as well. especially his time with Miss Piggy the pug and seeing the goats as well. We had a fantastic time and hope to return in the future for a longer stay.
Eccellente loved it great couple, will recommend

Kerry and Carys were very welcoming. They contacted me directly with Google maps coordinates to the property before we arrived. On arriving they helped with our luggage and there was a lovely welcome pack inside the cottage, bread, milk and fresh farm eggs. The cottage is very tastefully decorated a home from home. Nothing was too much trouble. On leaving Carys gave us a card, cake and some dog treats for our dog for our wedding anniversary. Our dog got on very well with their little pug Piggy. We had a lovely stay which was very close to beaches and the designer village. Would definitely recommend 5 Stars

The location of this property is absolutely stunning. The hospitality of the hosts was first rate, warm, welcoming and accommodating in every way. It was one of the nicest stays we had on our trip. We would definitely recommend it.

Love it here!
Really sweet cottage. The owners were available to help in any way, not that we needed anything, everything was there for us. Lots of places to visit in the locality. Top of the list for us was the Royal Mint tour.
A fantastic property in an idyllic location. The perfect size for a couples trip away! Hosts were super friendly and helpful. A great place to stay if you want to explore lots of places around south wales and not drive out further than an hour. All round 1010 stay and would definitely recommend.

Very comfortable little cottage. Warm and inviting. Lots of places to walk with our little dog straight from the cottage. Owners very friendly and helpful. Local pub at the bottom of the hill was also very friendly and served tasty and excellent value meals.
Lovely stone cottage in peaceful rural spot with beautiful views, yet a short distance from Bridgend and the M4. Beautifully decorated, it was cosy, comfortable and warm, well supplied with everything you could need. Owners were friendly and welcoming and made us feel at home. Highly recommend.
We were hugely impressed with Kerrys and Carys drop of a hat, very accommodating response the cottage we stayed in had a broken boiler, so within two hours we were rehoused to Caner Bach Lodge and Carys even picked us up from local petrol station to ensure we find the way which was not a problem in the end. For both nothing was too much trouble and whilst the cottage was compact, it had all we needed bar a cafetire for the coffee snobs

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Caner Bach Lodge while I was working in the nearby area. I was immediately impressed by the friendliness and warmth of the owners, Carys and Kerry. They made us feel welcome from the moment I arrived, and even provided essentials such as bread, milk, and toiletries. The cottage itself was clean, cozy, and wellequipped. Everything we needed for a comfortable stay was provided. The cottage is also located on a working farm, so I enjoyed seeing the animals and taking walks in the surrounding fields or nearby beaches. The cottage and owners are very dogfriendly, so I was able to bring my assistance dog along with me. Carys and Kerry's own dogs and other animals were kept separate from us, but they were happy to let us see them if we were interested. Luna? is a lovely big dog! Overall, we had a wonderful stay at Caner Bach Lodge. The owners are friendly and welcoming, the cottage is clean and cozy, and the location is perfect for those who want to relax and unwind in a rural setting. I would highly recommend Caner Bach Lodge to anyone looking for a dogfriendly cottage getaway in South Wales.
A lovely little place very peaceful with an abundance of scenic walks very close by. Also, the M4 is about 15 minutes away so you easily get to Cardiff or Swansea to enjoy the sights or go shopping. I for one enjoyed the tranquility and that feeling of being away from things but knowing everything you might need is close by. A final word regarding the hosts warm, friendly and always ready to sort out anything that might crop up or questions about the locale best places to walk, local things of interest. A lovely couple. Id certainly go back again.
Decorated tastefully, efficient heating, friendly hosts, well equipped,

We stayed at Caner Bach Lodge for two nights after our wedding and had a lovely stay. The hosts couldnt be more welcoming, including some lovely touches that made us feel so special. Its a small place, which was perfect for us, cosy and comfortable with a well stocked kitchen that we felt at home in instantly. We were able to meet the animals which was lovely, and had some nice walks in the countryside as well. We'll definitely be coming back to stay in the future!
The hosts were fabulous. Couldn't do enough for us and were very welcoming and friendly. Lovely little lodge cabin.
Carolyn
Firstly it should be noted that the track to the property is only really suitable for 4x4 vehicles and should you not be a confident driver, then the extreme pot holes would have the ability to over turn your vehicle. The property has a deep, approx 9 step down into the bedroom without any warning of this, it would have been easy to not have seen it and hurt yourself this is not mentioned anywhere in the property description. There is literally just enough room to shuffle along the wall & the base of bed, you are not able to walk freely! A massive problem with woodlice in both the bathroom & bedroom, & when approaching the owners regarding this, we were simply told that they had the same issue in their own house as this is acceptable!. Lack of kitchen utensils. Overall the property and the five star reviews are not true! Not an accurate description of the property, the amenities or the death trap of the track!
Suzanne
Absolutely fabulous hosts including the lovely dogs the lodge was very cute & cosy with a nice touch of providing milk & bread for our arrival. . will defo go back in the future Many thanks Only one down side was, the bumpy track going up to property was never mentioned in the advert.. good job we had a pickup..
We had a fantastic stay in a beautiful cottage. Carys and Kerry and the dogs made us feel welcome. We got to meet the animals which was amazing. The cottage was in a peaceful location away from the main road with amazing views nestled up in the hills. It was easy to travel to other places with good access to roads and the M4. If you're looking for a holiday to get away and unwind we would recommend Caner Bach Lodge to all.
Claire
Lovely place. The family made us and our dog feel extremely welcome. Would definitely stay here again as they made it so easy with the dog and he loved being able to run around and play with their dogs.
Phyllis
Had a lovely time. So peaceful. Lovely friendly owners who made us very welcome. Lovely friendly dogs
What a great break we had at Caner Back Lodge we had! The owners couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome. I would really recommend for anyone wanting a quiet break away from noisy roads.
Louisa
We spent 5nights 161222. Our cottage was fantastic, cosy and perfect for my husband, self and little dog. Hosts were lovely, their dogs were away from our little one, so no issues. Amazing place, will definitely go back and highly recommend x
Caner bach lodge is beautiful! The perfect romantic getaway for me and my partner. Stunning location and extremely well kept, this little lodge was perfect for us to relax in on a lazy day and to have as our base on our days out. Unfortunately we seemed to be missing a few amenities loo roll mainly and possibly need to add a sanitary bin for us ladies but thankfully there is a supermarket only a 10 minute drive away. Would highly recommend in the future!
Sheila
Kerry & Carys were very friendly and helpful hosts, welcoming us with our 2 dogs to the cottage on their farm. Our daughter and her family were made welcome too during our stay. Steep drive up the hillside on arrival but guided in on the phone by Kerry. Lovely clean cottage with bread & milk in the fridge. Pygmy goats and pot belly pigs made the stay interesting with beautiful views of the Ogmore Valley. Local pubs etc for food and drink or facilities to cook at the cottage. We had a restful and pleasant long weekend.
The lodge was excellent . Hosts were both very friendly and available if needed had a very stress free stay just what we needed. The area is very good . The welcome was first class we will be going again
Beautiful location way up on the top of a mountain owners very helpful
Leslie
The cottage was amazing and the family were all so helpful and friendly.
Delightful remote cottage for 2. Wonderful hosts. Fantastic views. Challenging drive on the approach especially if you make the mistake of coming in from the south by satnav rather than following the instructions and coming in via the village from the west.
