Bran Goesgoch Reviews

house24house2 type C Usb GoogleGoogle2South Stack lighthouse7Trearddur Bay10400 Throughout the entire stay, except for the first day when there was no heating, the landlord merely said I'm sorry and It will be solved tomorrow, without providing any remedial or compensatory measures. This was very disappointing! That night, it was very cold, which affected our mood and the overall stay experience. However, the other facilities in the room were very good, clean, and cooking was very convenient. There were an electric stove, a refrigerator, an electric oven, and a bread machine. The shower water was also very good. As soon as we arrived at the house, the landlord told us that the outdoor constant temperature surfing was continuously disinfected and circulated 24 hours a day and could be used at any time. Since we didn't bring swimsuits and didn't go, only the male members of the group went and said it was very good. Many rural houses in the UK have this feature. The next morning, the landlord sent us homemade eggs, which was very unexpected and touching. The heating was repaired the next day, but the landlord supposedly checked and repaired it, but didn't turn on the heating for us in advance. When we returned to the room in the evening, it was very cold. We immediately turned on the downstairs heating switch, and the heating plate switch also needed to be turned on by ourselves. But we didn't know that there were two heating switches upstairs and downstairs. As a result, the upstairs was still cold. We thought the upstairs wasn't repaired yet, and it took 2 hours before we could find out the reason and turn on the switch. Before departure, we forgot to bring a conversion plug, fortunately, there were two on the group, but they were clearly not enough. We asked the boss, and he found a bunch of them in the warehouse for us, but none of them worked. The ones we brought were all of type C interface, and the USB interface ones didn't work either. We had to charge everyone alternately. In the future, definitely remember to bring a conversion plug. Also, parking is in the backyard, free, and very convenient. The hotel is not easy to find, which is something to pay attention to. Google navigation made us confused. It told us we had arrived at the destination, but it wasn't at all. We needed to keep driving forward. Google would then show the correct location. It was about 2 miles ahead. Here, it takes 7 minutes to drive to South Stack Lighthouse South Stack lighthouse, 10 minutes to the Trearddur Bay beach, and they are both very close. The wind at the lighthouse was extremely strong, so be careful. The 400 steps were still relatively easy. The view from the cliff edge was very good.

Lovely property on working farm perfect for being a base to explore the island or for getting away from the hustle and bustle of busy life. No shops or pubs within walking distance but this wasn't a problem for us as we just wanted to chill out plus on arrival milk, tea, coffee and sugar provided along with other little treats. Owner met us in the property and was very welcoming and friendly. Hot tub filled and ready for us to use with provisions of extra towels provided if needed. Towels for dogs after walks also provided if needed. Everything you need for cooking to hand. Will definitely go again
Joanna
Lovely cottage, well equipped and warm. Great to have the hot tub. Only slight downside was being woken by barking dogs at 5.30 every morning.
Mrs Campbell is a lovely host, who couldnt do enough to make us feel welcome and comfortable. She cheerfully addressed any minor niggles immediately plumber came to bleed the towel radiators the next day. Its a wild, windy and glorious place. We are from farming backgrounds, so it was home from home. Other reviewers who were surprised or upset by normal farm sights or smells might need to manage their expectations! Town vs country banter aside, its a really great place to rest and we intend to go back.
A lovely 3 bedroom detached upside down house at the centre of a working farm in a beautiful location right next to South Stack. The owner lives on site at the farmhouse and is super friendly with nothing being too much trouble. Grandson loved the animals, especially the donkeys which he fed daily. Also loved the hot tub in our little walled garden. Good parking. Will definitely return.
If you like being on a working farm you will love this. I especially loved watching the donkeys

Mrs Campbell couldnt do enough to ensure we were comfortable and had all we ... Mrs Campbell couldnt do enough to ensure we were comfortable and had all we required, cottage was lovely and clean and comfortable, highly recommend this place , Mrs Campbell youre a gem of a host, thank you xx
We've just had a very enjoyable week at this farm cottage, the host is very welcoming of both 2 and 4 legged guests, and the welcome tray was a nice touch. Will definitely return
Robert
Just returned from a 7 night stay, loved the hot tub, and the cottage, had everything we needed for the stay. The host was great, and wasnt far away if we had a query, would have been 5 stars if we didnt have the heating pack up half way through our stay, but the host was trying to get this sorted, and being on a farm with cattle with did have a lot of flies getting in to the property, but we did get given plenty of fly spray when we asked, if we go back that way we would return.
Kelvin
We loved our stay at Bran Goesgoch. The accommodation was perfect for the age and size of our family group of 6 adults. The accommodation had everything we needed and the host was lovely and attentive. We loved the farm location and the views was beautiful. There are plenty of beaches and walks to choose from. We would definitely book again.
Caraline
Exactly as described, wonderful, peaceful and absolutely beautiful Location. Lovely accommodation, got a glorious week for weather too. Owner is friendly, lovely and helpful.
We had a lovely week here, my little boy loved seeing the animals and feeding the donkeys. The owner, Gwyneth, is friendly and welcoming and was great with anything we needed. Its in a beautiful area with lots of beaches nearby which our four dogs really enjoyed. We would love to come back again next year!
Joanne
The cottage was lovely, and the hot tub was ideal for resting in after walks on the beach. The owner was really considerate & helpful, directing our lost food delivery driver, giving us information on where to go for lunches, games of pool etc. We knew the cottage was on a farm, but didnt expect to be slap bang in the middle of it, so the views from the cottage werent great, and there was some noise from the farm machinery, gates banging & animals. What would have made our holiday better was that the WiFi in the cottage struggled when 3 of us were trying to use it. One evening it didnt work at all for any of us, which, with a teenager wasnt ideal. And because theres no Vodaphone or EE signal at the cottage unless you walked a few minutes down the lane we were a bit stuck. There are some board games and dvds in the cottage though which helped pass the time.
Claire
Had a fantastic week here with our three labradors. Lots of walks, beaches, beautiful scenery and wildlife around plus a hot tub to relax in at the end of the day. Some nice places to eat that are dog friendly including the White Eagle at Rhoscolyn. We enjoyed seeing the animals on the farm especially the donkeys and despite being a working farm it was quiet and relaxing. Gwyneth, the host, is friendly and helpful. The cottage was warm and cosy and had everything we needed for our stay. We are hoping for a return visit in the future.
Very clean and comfortable, no tv, internet or mobile signal but board games and books were provided. Wonderful views and countryside with great dog walks, then a relaxing recovery soak in the hot tub. The walled garden is good but larger breeds may be able to jump the wall. Based on a working farm.
The cottage was has described . It was very clean with everything you could want while on holiday. the owner was lovely and very helpful. while we was there she had three donkeys arrive and we was aloud to go into the field to feed them which my two grandchildren loved . The hot tub was a wonderful addition we we used every night . there is a lovely beach only 4 miles away that has public toilets and places to eat and buy ice cream and coffee from. There isn't anything bad i can say about the cottage its a wonderful place to stay with stunning scenery all around . We all had a lovely time and would most deferentially return .
The cottage itself was nice and clean. However, the view a pile of rubble in front of the hot tub was not appealing at all and a shame. Throughout our stay we experienced very poor water pressure and sometimes the water stopped completely for over half an hour at time. I was not happy, particularly as Sykes had sent us an email a month before telling us the water pressure had been fixed. I informed the owner and whilst I don't recall her apologising she provided bottled water. A plumber attended on day 3 and it improved slightly however we noticed tiny black bits in the water from water we had been collecting in saucepans! We were then concerned what had we been drinking! The owner did not appear interested and no compensation from Sykes! Very annoyed as we feel we have not had justice for what we had to put up with.
Sharon
Lovely place , would have been useful to have information sheet on where the washing line was or possibly a tumble dryer when it rained and bins. Mrs Campbell very helpful and friendly though had a great week, and the lovely animals noise rather than vehicles . Location is picturesque.
We had a wonderful week on the farm. The accomodation was first rate and provided everything we required. It was lovely seeing all the animals up close and the weather was perfect. We will definitely be back again.Gweneth the owner was so nice and couldn,t do enough for us. Thank you once again!!
We had a lovely stay in the cottage with the hot tub. It is on a working farm and we thought this added to the charm of the property. We read reviews prior to going regarding the water pressure. We found the pressure to be quite low when having a shower but managed to have one daily. There was never an occasion when we were without water. We enjoyed all the local walks that were accessible from the property and found this cottage to be a great base to explore Anglesey.
Teresa
Beds are very comfortable slept well. But the lack of water was a real big issue, especially with a family of 6 .It felt like we were camping with no shower block .We had to decided either wash us or the pots .Upstairs shower never worked taps dribble water 1 min to fill kettle ,shower down stairs if it came on went hot very quickly so all wk felt dirty. When we approached the owner all we got was I know about the after pressure but nothing about getting it fixed. Also the photos don't warn you it's right next to the cowshed .
ie-ann
We had a lovely stay here. Nice, warm, comfortable cottage. The lady that owns the farm is such a lovely lady. Very helpful and informative. We stayed with 5 dogs, 99 year old grandma and a 10 month old baby. Beautiful views surround the property and with lambs outside our door just made the holiday. The only problem was the water pressure in the cottage wasn't great but I'm sure that will get sorted soon. Would like to thank Gweneth again for having us.
Joanne
We really enjoyed our stay at Bran Goesgoch, weather was brilliant too which was a bonus, and the local area is outstanding. Gwyneth is lovely,so friendly and helpful and anything you need she is there to assist. Our only slight negative would be that it would have been nice to have had table and chairs in garden to sit outside but it was early in season so understandably not there yet. Will definitely be back to visit,we are already planning when to come and cant wait to see the farmhouse when it is back to its former glory. Thank you Gwyneth and team for a fabulous week.
Beautiful scenery, lovely cottage and wonderful host. Thank you!
The Cottage was well stocked for cooking and eating lots of games for the kids inside and out. Very clean and the host was really friendly and helpful. she couldn't have been kinder to our children telling the kids about the farm and the animals. The host encouraged the kids to feed the animals and pet the amenable animals. The hot tub was hot on arrival and was a massive bonus to be able to chuck the kids in whilst I unpacked after a long journey. Lovely walks from the cottage and a small beach walkable with older children maybe not pre school. The local town was a very pretty with another great beach and lovely ice cream shop. A great Cottage to go and be away from all the hustle and bustle.
Very warm welcome from the owner, who was always available but never over bearing. Perfect location, being minutes from the coastal path and South stack but still within 10 minutes drive to supermarkets and a good range of takeaways and eateries.
Great location, and the proprietor was a lovely person. The accommodation was clean and there was plenty of room within the building, the only downfall was the water supply. The proprietor is aware of this and with having other cottages and a farm to run this is a priority to resolve. There is plenty of room for three vehicles and a small garden area as a point to walk from the location is not far from South Stack Lighthouse and a pair of Standing Stones.
Michael
Owner went out of her way Even dropped some eggs of for our Sunday breakfast Nothing but excellent
The house was great and gwineth was lovely to speak to and very helpful
Very nice cottage, hot tub was a bonus, suited our party of six very comfortably. The staff are very helpful & friendly, we had an issue with the hot tub and Huw sorted it straight away and it was up and running again the same day. The only issue we had was that there was no hot water in the washbasins in either of the bathrooms, the showers were fine albeit that you had to pick your times to have a shower but wasn't a big issue for us. Great place for if you have dogs, enclosed garden and plenty of walks.
Michael
Excellent location and host was really accommodating and went the extra mile to ensure we all had a great holiday.
Sharon
Wonderful cottage on a working farm. Dog friendly too we took 4 well behaved dogs with us and had a great time. Lots of local walks and dog friendly beaches plus owner let us use a field for loose running the dogs each morning. Great location for a restful break Gwyneth the owner is a wonderful host giving lots of information on best beaches, restaurants etc The 4 adults and our 4 dogs had a lovely break hot tub was a bonus too !
Characterful cottage in the middle of a farmyard full of the wonderful sounds and smells of a working farm. Beautiful views and well situated to explore the nearby coastal delights. Our host, Mrs Campbell, went out of her way to help us enjoy our holiday with maps and recommendations and our grandchildren were thrilled to assist in feeding the pet lambs and dogs and collecting eggs which they later enjoyed for tea! Fabulous week.
So easy to book and such lovely accommodation. This is the third time we have stayed here and we will definitely be back! We have 3 dogs, the accommodation is also very set up for dogs and the walksbeachesforests locally are amazing for walking.
Catherine
We really enjoyed our stay and the owner was really friendly and looked after us. It was great to wake up with the cattle and were lucky enough to see the badger that visits most evenings. The location whilst remote is within easy reach of Holyhead town centre and the local shops as well as lots of lovely sandy beaches and coves a short drive away.
The host Gwyneth was lovely very welcoming and unobtrusive the cottage was excellent and perfect for us and the dogs. The farm is lovely and Hugh the farm man really interesting and friendly to chat to hope to go back in the future.
Alison
The cottage is in a very peaceful and relaxing location with just a bit of farm noise to remind you that you are out in the countryside. Perfectly comfortable for our party of 4 adults and two small dogs. We were not expecting any welcome gifts but were pleasantly surprised to find biscuits and wine left for us, plus eggs kindly supplied during the week. Mrs Campbell, the owner, is very friendly and on hand if you need her, but doesn't interfere. Previous guests have mentioned the inconsistent water pressure which can be a challenge if you are in the shower and the water cuts out, as happened to us on several occasions. It is prudent to have a large jug of water on standby!
Comfortable house, well equipped and tea, coffee, etc. on arrival. The hot tub was a great success! and the children enjoyed seeing the farm animals. There is a small beach nearby and several walks. Is a good spot for visiting other parts of Anglesey.
