Bishop's Castle Barn Reviews

Highly recommend a stay. as a family of 3 2 adults 1 teenager we enjoyed a really comfortable stay over the new year period. Host was attentive but not intrusive providing clear joining instructions and responding promptly to queries pre during our stay. Cottage has all the modern amenities you'd expect, WIFI service was excellent despite semi remote location and as for the vistas breathtaking. Country side walk to BC takes about 30 mins via a well sign posted route. A bonus is that an electric car charger is available at the property although please note charging speed only circa 2kwh. In summary, a fantastic place base for exploring beautiful Shropshire. we plan a return stay soon.
We have stayed in numerous holiday cottages over the years, too many to count but Bishops Castle Barn was a cut above the rest it was just so comfortable and incredibly well thought out. We loved the fact that we could play music in the evening and the TVs were all a descent size they can be so so small and not worth watching all in all very well equipped. Beautiful part of the country with lots of places to visit and we were just spoilt with all the walking. Bishops Castle itself if really nice and the people were so welcoming we cant wait to go back. Thanks again Tim and Andrea.
We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful holiday home. It was spotlessly clean and so well looked aftereverything felt fresh and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The views across the countryside were stunning, and we even had sheep right outside the house, which added to the peaceful, rural charm. It was lovely and quiet and relaxing, just what we needed. And the hot tubabsolutely amazing! The perfect way to unwind while soaking in the surroundings. We didnt want to leave and would love to return one day. Highly recommend!
A wonderful property in a superb location. The owners were very helpful and the good weather was a bonus.
Michael
A very well equipped and tidy cottage in a lovely location. It made a great base for us to explore the Shropshire Hills. We loved the hot tub. The interior layout is a little eclectic but very practical, and had lots of space for two adults and two kids. We loved having games and puzzles provided and the map coffee table. We would love to visit again.
Lovely property with great amenities and lovely views. Didnt use the hot tub as the weather was poor but enjoyed long walks from the door. The EV charger was a bonus enabling us to start our return to Scotland on a full charge. We would recommend.
Douglas
Cottage and facilities first class superb views and hot tub position is fabulous . Only drawback is navigating around Bishops Castle which is not easy
We really enjoyed our stay at Bishop Castle Barn. The barn is in a stunning location with beautiful panoramic views which you can enjoy while relaxing in the hot tub. It was spotless & well equipped. Tim was there to meet us & showed us how everything worked in the barn & then left us to enjoy our holiday, but was on hand if we needed anything. I would certainly stay again.
Nicola
Had a fabulous relaxing stay at Bishops Castle Barn. The barn was warm and cosy and had all mod cons. The views were simply stunning especially from the kitchen and hot tub. There are plenty of places to explore in the area. Would love to return in the future. Thanks to Tim and Andrea for a lovely stay.
A full length mirror in the 2nd bedroom would be ideal Fly screens in the ... A full length mirror in the 2nd bedroom would be ideal Fly screens in the bedrooms so that the windows could be opened for fresh air at nighttime A lovely property with fantastic views
General layout of interior is lovely. Highlight of our holiday was opening the front door in the morning seeing sheep sleeping with their baby lambs on the grass. Beautiful views outside Property maintenance is needed inside & out. No dry food storage in the kitchen, had to use display shelf. Bedding old & tired. Pan was unusable, burnt. Oven tin unusable without parchment paper or tin foil. Decking broken in the corner next to railing, this could be a hazard just looks tired & needs updating. Just a few little maintenance jobs & it could be stunning.
A very comfortable barn conversion with amazing views and the bonus of a fabulous hot tub with those views. A footpath starts right outside the barn with a 30 minute walk cross the fields with those views all the way to Bishops Castle and great food at the Castle Hotel. Vet quiet with unobtrusive owners next door who are there if needed otherwise you are left alone with just the local sheep for company the perfect get away location. While down a narrow lane it is very quiet with no traffic and a short gravel track to the barn which should be no problem for most cars Thanks Tim and Andrea for a great week
Absolutely beautiful cottage inside and out. Everything you need for comfort and relaxing holiday. The hot tub was lovely way to relax and take in the amazing views. The barn is very warm and cosy. Tim the owner loves his gadgets everything is thought of down to Bluetooth through the bath room mirror. I would
We had the most wonderful time at the barn. It is so well equipped and the hot tub was fantastic. The views are beautiful, and the barn is so perfect and cosy. We will definitely return. Tim and Andrea were so friendly and helpful. A perfect place to stay.
This is a really lovely barn and the setting is absolutely gorgeous. Tim and Andrea are really friendly and helpful. We had a lovely week and would happily recommend such a super place thank you.
A great, well designed barn conversion in a fantastic peaceful setting. As stated in the information supplied the approach road and stony drive down to the barn were quite narrow and steep but posed no problem for our car SUV. The barn was well equipped and the hot tub on the raised decking was great. This was a good base for exploring the local area with plenty of things to see and do. Would happily recommend this property.
Superb accommodation in a gorgeous part of the world. Tim and Andrea are firstrate hosts.
Judith

The location is so peaceful and has easy access to walks and local facilities. If you want to get away from it all, relax and have some peace and quiet then look no further, the barn is the place to be! Thankyou to the owners Tim and Andrea for creating this little oasis in beautiful Shropshire.

A lovely place to relax after a days walking in Shropshire.
After a long walk relaxing in the hot tube was great! ! Shropshire is a beautiful county and well worth a second visit.
Andrew
Lovely cottage with a friendly and accommodating host. The listing does not do the cottage it's full justice. Immaculately clean, modern and beautifully kept, with every appliance and accessory you might need. A real home from home.
Daniel
Absolutely stunning place to stay, the views are absolutely amazing and the barn itself is very comfortable and modern inside. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for somewhere isolated and peaceful
Richard
This was a fantastic venue. It looked very good in the publicity but in reality it was far better than that. Clean, modern and cosy, it sat perched on the side of a hill looking down into the valley and on the hills beyond. The view from the kitchen window was like a framed picture and we were thrilled to see buzzards flying over the fields in front of us. Bishop's Castle is a charming small town which had all we needed.
Deborah
This property was amazing, very clean and comfortable. Gadgets great. Location was great for exploring Shropshire. Nice to do a long walk and relax in the hot tub on return.
Really comfortable with lots of added extras, thankyou.
Really comfortable with lots of added extras, thankyou.
What a fantastic place this is to stay. The barn had all we needed..as well as some extra gadgets we particularly appreciated the electronic openingclosing of the Velux blinds and windows given the heat this week. The views are magnificent. There is a lot to do in the area although the glorious weather kept is at the barn..the deck is shady with a warm breeze. Two teenage girls loved the hot tub in the later evenings when the weather cooled. Tim and Andrea..thank you. So kind, thoughtful and friendly. We hope to return.
I loved staying in the cottage a night before and 4 nights after our wedding. It was very luxurious and the setting is incredie...I could sit in that hot tub and stare at that view for weeks...so peaceful. Would definitely recommend and Tim and Andrea were lovely and helpful. We want to go back already. Xxx
Heather
We had a lovely holiday here. Everything was perfect from the 5 star facilities to the peaceful location. The hot tub was the icing on the cake. We would definitely recommend a visit.

Wonderful property in a beautiful location and it lacks nothing . Appreciated the personal greeting and then given total privacy to enjoy the location. Can fully understand why you get a lot of people returning and we would love to in the future.
This was our third visit and it was as good as always. The landlord was great and very helpful. The cottage is lovely with all mod cons and such a beautiful location. When the council resurface the road it will be perfect in deed. Great holiday. Thanks!
An amazing place to stay, the piece and quiet of the setting and location is just perfect. Cleanliness of the property is second to none and an absolute credit to its owners.
A fantastic barn that is exceptionally clean, tidy and has been renovated to the highest of standards. The hot tub is a perfect additional to a fantastic property. The location is perfect and the finishing touches and amazing. Can't wait to return.
Our second visit and it was as good if not better than the first. The landlord was very helpful getting our shopping order sorted for us so it was all there ready when we arrived. The cottage was spotless and had everything we wanted. Warm, comfortable and very peaceful. A great place to get away from it all.
Quality accommodation in a very rural setting along a gated track. A comfortable grown up space offering peace and quiet with lovely country views ideal for couples. Bishops Castle is a great base for walking and cycling with lots of country pubs in the area. Planning required. We had a lovely stay enjoying the glorious weather and jumping into the hot tub after a day out walking and cycling. Hosts live next door and provided helpful accurate information in advance of our stay which is really comforting in these Covid times. Highly recommended if you like to get away from it all.
Dionne
