Y Bwthyn Reviews

Richard
We stayed at Y Bwthyn over the Christmas period 2025 and arrived to a warm gleaming, well decorated property with a beautiful Christmas tree glistening in the lounge. The two bedrooms have comfy beds with loads of wardrobe space and the bathroom has a shower over the bath ... and Yes, the shower works. The kitchen diner lounge is vast and everywhere is spotlessly clean. The hot tub was popular and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Mrs Roberts was very welcoming and keen to ensure that we were comfortable in every aspect ... without being intrusive. We shall certainly stay there again.
Elizabeth
The most well equipped cottage weve ever stayed in. We appreciated the ability to wander & bike! in the fields. It felt isolated up in the hills but only a few miles to town was the best of both. Will absolutely return
Absolutely stunning, so much better than what I expecting. I will most definitely be going back
An amazing cottage away from the busy sounds & noise of any city all you can hear is the farm animals. Great location for exploring around Snowdonia, although the farm was difficult to find at first I think better instructions are needed for locating the farm when coming from the South. Owner was super friendly and even left a birthday cake which was such a nice touch. Great communication with the owner throughout and I cannot speak highly enough about the HotTub this was such a welcomed pleasure after hiking the mountains. The cottage itself is really well setup, loads of space and very comfortable to stay in. Some of the doors can be a little noisy to close due them scrapping on the floor, but it adds to the character of the place. Would highly recommend this cottage lovely stay, excellent owners and we would definitely look to stay there again if and when we return to Snowdonia.
My daughter and I had a fabulous time. The property was amazing, very quiet and relaxing. The scenery was stunning Marion and Trevor were excellent hosts very friendly and knowledgeable regarding the area .The homemade cakes and fresh farm eggs along with the Daffodils was a lovely welcoming touch .Loved the hot tub would definitely return
If you are looking for a property that is quiet and remote, yet with all mod cons, then this is the property for you. If you get lots of food in, there's no need to go anywhere for a whole week just chill out on the deck, watch the sheep, jump into the hot tub, view films on the huge TV screen, and enjoy Mrs Roberts' fresh eggs from the farm's happy hens. But if you want to wander around BetwsyCoed, shop for fresh food every day, walk by the river, visit the Swallow Falls, and explore the national park, just drive a couple of miles down some farmtracks to the main A5 road and you'll be back in civilisation.
Absolutely beautiful! We have had a wonderful holiday staying in this lovely cottage which was very well equipped with everything we needed. The views from the cottage were stunning we miss them so much and it was so nice having a hot tub to relax in a real treat! The cottage is lovely and spacious and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone wanting to holiday in this part of North Wales it is so peaceful.

A lovely cosy cottage for our family holiday surrounded by wonderful views and peaceful countryside. Well equipped kitchen and friendly cat. The hot tub was a welcome addition. It was a great place to relax and also great location to visit lots of local attractions. Thank you for a lovely holiday.
Amazing property overlooking the rolling hills. Marion ensured we were comfortable and we greatly appreciated the hot tub being switched on for the first night! We also enjoyed the company of the farm cat each morning for breakfast! Would highly recommend this property.
The property and the stay was actually better than we thought it would be. So clean and really cozy. Loved being on a working farm. We had the most amazing week away. And Marion and Trefor were superb hosts. Highly recommended. We will definitely return.
Lindsey
Great location, cosy cottage and a lovely hot tub
Lovely cottage in an ideal location for walking, cycling and visiting SnowdoniaEryri. The hot tub was amazing after a days walking, stunning views and the cottage was very comfy and well equipped. Happily recommend and can't wait to go back.
Lovely well maintained cottage with outstanding views. We really enjoyed our mini break.
Damian
The cottage and the hosts are 1010. The farm is beautiful with wonderful views. Hot tub was a nice touch. We weren't very lucky with the weather but that's no one's fault. My only concern was the road to get to the farm. I didn't expect it to be so rural yes I'm a city person but it was a very narrow road and we were lucky we didn't encountered any cars coming the opposite direction.
Susanna

Lovely stay. Cottage was beautiful, very clean and even nicer than the photos. Stunning views, and great location for us to visit different towns and areas of interest around North Wales. Received a really warm welcome from hosts, including some fab banana loaf!
The property was fantastic, in a beautiful location. Very clean and decorated tastefully. Comfy beds and the hot tub was superb! Fresh eggs and welsh cakes on arrival! Would 100 recommend this place and hope to go back!
Beautiful cottage spotlessly clean. Would very highly recommended
Had a lovely week. Property is exactly as the pictures show spotlessly clean on arrival with hot tub emptied and refilled for us. Facilities great with everything you need in the kitchen. Owners very friendly and enjoyed seeing the goings on of the farm day to day. Special mention too to Bobbi the dog and Judy the cat who made it extra special for us Judy loves attention and we love cats so felt like we had our very own little farm cat for the week. Thanks for everything we wouldnt hesitate to recommend this place. Helen and Dan.

Great Cottage, great hosts, great location! We had a wonderful holiday. The cottage is on a working farm and we loved the time we spent here, Mr and Mrs Roberts made us feel very welcome. Diolch yn fawr!
We had a lovely 4 night stay, the cottage is in a great location with amazing views and you really felt away from it all. Only a short drive to the local shops cafes etc. The hot tub was a welcome treat after a busy day of activities, great location to visit all main attractions, we did two of the zip world sites, mountain biking and Snowdon. Fresh farm eggs on arrival and Bobby the farm dog always greeted us on our return. Would definitely stay again.
This is the nicest holiday property weve ever stayed in. It is furnished very tastefully, there is lots of space, it is very well equipped and the location is wonderful. The property was extremely clean on arrival and the owners are so friendly and helpful. It was a delight to be there at lambing season. We would highly recommend this property.
Lovely cottage in a beautiful area. Owners were very friendly and accomodating, and helpful with guidance of the local area. They also provided a high chair and travel cot for a young one, both of which were perfect. Facilities were great, we made good use of the hot tub which had amazing views! Thanks for a lovely stay, we hope to be back one day
Andrea
The cottage was quite cold at night. The hot tub could do with some form of cover over it to make it more private and to protect it from the wind and rain.
Georgina
We have had the loveliest holiday! A week here was much needed and the owners were amazing! Their pets were all characters and the farm was well kept and interesting! We particularly enjoyed our free time in the hot tub and although such close proximity to the owners house it felt private and comfortable! The cottage was amazingly stocked and had every facility we needed, and we were able go drive wherever due to the fab location! Views didnt seem real! This was our first time in wales and we will be back and we just want to thank them for having us!
Lovely spot, great views from the cottage over the valley.
Really well appointed and equipped cottage, very comfortable in the most ... Really well appointed and equipped cottage, very comfortable in the most wonderful location, a real escape from the outside world
V good if you like a remote location. Views are stunning. Hosts v friendly. Only one suggestion. The skylight in main bedroom has no blind. So light comes in morning. Ok for now but in June not so good!
Rosemary
Good location for Snowdonia park.
Jonathan
A fantastic Holliday home inside and out. The position is great to visit all the great places of North Wales. I would highly recommend to anyone.
The cottage is down a narrow road not too far from the nearest village. Luckily we didn't meet anything coming the other way as we went to and fro all week, as passing would have been difficult. Once at the cottage it was beautiful and serene with stunning views for miles in all directions. The cottage itself was very comfortable and very clean an extra deep clean due to covid. The family welcomed us with some tasty treats and were very friendly and helpful. A great week was had by all.
Many thanks to Mrs Roberts for all her extra cleaning to make it possible for us to go on holiday. We had a lovely time the cottage and location are stunning.
What a fabulous place to stay, great location for getting about North Wales. Mr and Mrs Roberts were very friendly.the cottage is superb.
An amazing location so peaceful fantastic scenery. It was in ideal location for walking or sightseeing. The converted barn had been converted very tastefully. Would certainly go back
Patricia
The cottage was lovely peaceful and quiet. The scenery from cottage was gorgeous. The cottage itself had everything you needed and very cosy and clean. Mr & Mrs Roberts made us very welcome although living next door we only saw them as we were going out. The cottage was at the top of a steep hill but not a problem as we didn't meet anyone. couldn't fault this cottage at all.
As soon as we entered the accommodation we felt all the stress lift from our shoulders. The converted barn was absolutely stunning and really clean. The views were breathtaking and the hosts were really nice leaving us a homemade sponge cake and as it was a working farm we had fresh eggs.
Christopher A
Accommodation was excellent. Location and views are wonderful. A good base for local hikes and not too far to drive to the main attractions of North Wales. Mrs Roberts was very pleasant and looked after us well. We would definitely book again in the future
