The Heronry, Longtown

The Heronry is a single-storey barn conversion in Cumbria, beautifully finished to an extremely high standard. Set in the courtyard of the owner's Grade II listed mill house near the Scottish Borders, this romantic retreat features floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Carwinley Beck. Gretna Green's Blacksmith's Shop offers dining and shopping (6 miles, 10 minutes). Carlisle castle and cathedral are 9 miles away (20 minutes). Ullswater's famous steamers and Aira Force waterfall are both 30 miles (45 minutes). Great walks start from the doorstep.
