Snave Barn Reviews

Cathryn
You look at the photos and read others reviews but don't really know what to expect until actually there. Well this place looked good and sounded amazing. I can now confirm that Snave Barn is the real deal! The three generations of our family absolutely loved this place, the remote setting is perfect, the Barn had everything we needed and so much more. Plenty of walking from the door step, the circular walk to Trollers Gill is highly recommended, a bit of a scramble in places but I managed it with wonky joints and associated ailments. We used All Trails for directions. A nice easy walk around the reservoir at any time of day is highly enjoyable. Within an easy drive is so much more especially Malham Cove. We would definitely be coming back to any of the three properties, just looked for Christmas but they are already booked, so looking like next summer then! Enjoy the wildlife, star gazing and the fun of heating your own hot tub. We all loved this place and felt genuinely sad to leave
Exceptional experience at Snave Barn. Facilities and location were surreal. Ive never woken up on a Monday morning and surrounded by pure bliss. No traffic noise. No pollution, no rat race. It really is a place to escape the hustle and bustle. Definitely a unique experience and highly recommended. Jerry was extremely helpful in ensuring we had everything we need and only a text message away. I recommend buying groceries on your way to the accommodation as its a little drive to the nearest store.
Samantha
Our 3rd visit here such a beautiful tranquil place to just shut off from life for a week and enjoy quality family time. Absolutely faultless in every respect and could not recommend going here more. House is amazing, beds super comfortable and the hot tub is superb. Beautiful walk round the reservoir right on your doorstep and Jerry the caretaker cant do enough to help even posting our phone when we left it behind which also shows how well the house is cleaned as it was wedged down the side of the couch!! we will definitely be back for a 4th visit!
We had an extremely relaxing break in utmost comfort. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners who were brilliant with their communication and extremely generous to boot. If you want peace and quiet whilst being all snug and comfortable in spacious luxury, you'll not be going far wrong with Snave Barn. Thank you for looking after us, the stay was exactly what was required.
Robert
We had high expectations of Snave Barn before we arrived as it looked so good on the website. These expectations were not only met, but exceeded by a fair distance This is an exceptional holiday cottage in a beautiful part of the world. I cannot recommend it highly enough! Everything was perfect, the property was outstandingly decorated, clean, and spacious, the furnishing was luxurious, the support and advice from Jerry was excellent, and the surrounding countryside is beautiful. 1010 for Snave Barn, an excellent holiday destination
This was our second Christmas running in the Cottage and we have had visits in between and the charm of the place is what keeps us coming back. I dream of living in a place just like this! The place and location is stunning. The hosts are brilliant and I always look forward to seeing them too. Great location set in natural beauty and completely away from it all and with that much space in the place you can all have your own peace all at the same time. I wish I was still there now and can't wait to return.
Lindsay
Beautiful barn, stunning location Jerry was a fabulous host. Would absolutely recommend this place
The accommodation was out of this world, with breathtaking views especially the night sky with no light pollution, plus great local walks. The host was very welcoming and helpful, great communication. There was a great welcome pack, fantastic provisions. Will definitely be going back for another stay.
The Barn was amazing well appointed and wonderfully comfortable. We were greeted with a lovely surprise welcome pack on arrival, which set the tone for a fantastic stay. The location is idyllic, miles from civilisation. A suitable vehicle is essential to drive down the mile track, but its well worth the journey. This property is truly dogfriendly. Often theres an endless list of dos and donts when you take your dogs away but not here. It was a refreshing change. The hot tub, which had been preheated ready for our arrival, and the log burner were both very welcome as the Yorkshire nights grew chilly. It was also a nice touch to have a generous supply of logs provided, rather than the usual token two or three. The owner, Jerry, was attentive and helpful, even calling a day or two before our stay to offer some lastminute advice. If youre looking for a place to truly get away from it all, this is the perfect spot. Thank you for a wonderful time!
Very peaceful location with great walks and villages close by. Great place for wildlife. Car essential here. The barn was 3 bed but very large accommodation and great to stay in. The hot tub was great .There is a roof defect that during the storm let in water into the lounge which resulted in Jerry attending with a vax machine . this did not detract from the stay. A truly remote and quiet location. Grassington nearby is great. Beware pub prices .
Hannah
Beautiful property in a stunning location meaning the whole family could relax. Jerry made us feel so welcome and nothing was too much. Even my little boy asking him why to every single thing he was doing. We cant wait to return next year!
Fab weeks stay at Snave Barn. The accommodation was excellent and beautifully arranged as well as being very comfortable and relaxing. Views of the reservoir throughout the day were a beautiful and relaxing canvas to enjoy. The wood fired hot tub was a new experience for us but simple to maintain and kept the heat remarkably well. A perfect base for exploring the Dales. Great to meet the wonderful Jerry too. We will be back! 1010
We had a fantastic stay at Snave Barn. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded expectations. Jerry was absolutely amazing and provided us with all of the information we needed for our stay, and even took the time to give us some information about the history of the property we were curious! as well as some pointers on beautiful walks and wildlife. You are an absolutely gem, Jerry, and you made our stay just that bit more special. We've stayed in quite a few places over the years, but this one is truly unique in a beautiful natural and unspoiled setting. The location is amazing, the walk around the reservoir is stunning and the property itself is far more spacious than we had imagined. We will definitely be back... Snave Barn has a special place in our hearts.
The photos of Snave Barn didn't do it justice we opened the door and were wowed by the interior spaces and decor. Absolutely gorgeous. The bedrooms were beautifully appointed and the beds were oh so comfortable. The surroundings of the reservoir were so peaceful and a treat for us all. To be able to surrender to the unique sounds of the variety of birds whilst enjoying the hot tub was really very special and enabled everyone to reset and relax.
Sherryl
Fabulous cottage with an amazing view over Grimwith Reservoir. For a truly relaxing, peaceful and restorative break, this is the place.... Jerry the guy who looked after us was great and very informative... The log burner fire and hot tub were an added bonus which my adult children loved. Great place for a family break and of course our furry friends came too.... Would definitely return for another fab holiday.
Hannah
This cottage was ideal. Was an absolutely perfect stay!! The location is perfect if youre looking for peace and quiet but also things to do around the area. The hot tub was definitely the favourite part of the stay was so relaxing! The walk around the reservoir was a nice lovely walk to do as well. Definitely recommend and we will be visiting again! Perfect hosts too
Amazing location and great property. Cant describe the beauty of the location. Plenty to visit and do locally. Would visit again. Only slight issue was that the property was ready for a little TLC. We did mention this and were advised that the property was due for a little TLC in the next month.
Justin
Great property and location. Really comfortable and relaxing. After staying for a week, we did not want to leave and will definitely be back. The photos don't do the place justice. Only recommendation is that in the onsuite bathroom there could be somewhere closer to the shower to hang towels and put the soap shampoo just a personal preference. The facilities manager Jerry is more than helpful too.
This was my 2nd trip to the SnaveSkyfell trio. Had to come back they are amazing. The Barn is palatial! So much space, fabulous bedrooms and a real luxurious yet homely feel to the whole place. Equipped with everything you need, and Super Jerry is attentive and knowledgeable. Both me and the dogs LOVE it here. The walk around the reservoir is stunning, and safe to have the dogs off lead. Will be back as soon as I can.
We have truly found our happy place! So isolated and in amongst nature it is the best place we have stayed. We had 6 day's over Christmas and it was magical. I can not wait until we come again. Beautiful place and scenery is unreal.
Feels like a home from home. Jerry was as informative as always letting us know where the Owl has nested this year. Looking forward to returning next year.
Fab location, lovely walks from the door step. Cottage views fantastic Crystal clear night skieslook up people Jerry the true star. Look forward to returning soon.
Gabrielle
Thank you for a wonderful holiday Snave barn was a great place to stay for comfort the magnificent views. Jerry was great at communicating with us and made sure we had all we needed. The welcome pack was the best we ever had. We were sad to leave and look forward to booking our next stay.
Gareth
Stunning location, beautiful, comfortable and well appointed property.
Another fabulous break in this stunning location! The high standards of decor and facilities made this an ideal choice and the welcome pack really appreciated! We were treated to a week if glorious weather too, so walked each day, which the dog particularly loved. Absolutely ideal!
Snave barn is spacious, clean and beautifully decorated, with everything you could possibly need and more. The welcome basket was very much appreciated too, its touches like this that make this property outstanding. Its location is on the edge of Grimwith Reservoir and its stunning if you want peace and quiet, with no light or noise pollution this is the place to stay. The 4.5mile walk around the reservoir I also recommend, with plenty of wildlife. the owls are beautiful Gerry the caretaker is knowledgeable and on hand if you need him, he had our hot tub heated ready for our arrival which we really appreciated. We are gutted to be back home but cant wait to go back, of all the cottages weve stayed in this is our absolute favourite. 1010
Andrew
We enjoyed a great week at Snave Barn superb accommodation in such a rural & remote location. The Dales are a lovely part of the country and easily explored from Grimwith. The hot tub was an added bonus although you need plan ahead to ensure it is at an ideal temperature! Jerry was available, if needed, and proved an invaluable asset to the cottages and was helpful throughout our stay. We would love to return at some point in the future. Andrew, Anna & Skye
We booked all 3 properties together for a getaway with friends and had the best stay on Grimwith Reservoir. The properties themselves were spotless on arrival, and exactly as described on the listing. Jerry was very helpful and always on hand if we had any questions or wanted advice, and also got the hot tubs nice and hot for our arrival. We had everything we needed already there meaning we only had to bring clothes, food and drink, and the welcome hamper was also a nice touch. The location itself is amazing with a nice walking route around the reservoir and also longer routes to nearby villages where we found some great local pubs, shops and takeaways. This is my second time visiting this property and definitely wont be the last. It really does cater for all and cannot recommend it enough!
Such a peaceful & comfortable place when one wants to get away from the busyness of day to day stuff. A real asset having Jerry the caretaker. His pre visit phone call with tips was very valuable, as was his presence early on to ensure hot tub optimisation and answer my queries. Then again on check out morning do we knew what we needed to do.
Everything about this place was amazing, Gerry was fantastic and couldn't have been more helpful. would highly recommend !!
Verity
We enjoyed a wonderful week in Snave Barn. The property is spacious, luxurious and immaculately clean. We appreciated the welcome pack on arrival and the house was well equipped for our family of 5. The setting is very peaceful and we enjoyed a quiet walk around the reservoir. The hot tub was loved by us through the week as we spent time relaxing through the evening. We enjoyed day trips nearby with the Stump Cross caverns being a particular hit with the children along with Fountain Abbey National Trust and Grassington.
Jerry couldnt have been more welcoming and the property was absolutely stunning. I'd expect to pay double the price we did for the experience we had.
This was our second holiday here. Such a relaxing place. Beautiful views. Well equipped.
Ronnie
Excellent property in wonderful location. Gerry was onsite most days and went out of his way to make our stay enjoyable. Relaxing location with walks, wildlife and remoteness yet close to the Yorkshire Dales and many activities. The hot tub was a real highlight and thanks to Gerry for his help with this.
Charles
