The property was above and beyond our expectations. The peace and tranquility relaxes you right away. The house is very spacious and has everything you need for a wonderful stay. Everything has been thought of from the lovely glasses, crockery and cutlery to the high quality bed linen. Comfy beds. The night sky with no light pollution was a real treat, along with watching the sheep climbing up the mountain. It felt isolated, whilst also not too far if you wanted to go out and about. Hot tub was a treat! I would have no hesitation in returning to this property and recommending to others.

Wow where do I even start, this cottage is absolutely beautiful has everything you can possibly need and even more! We have just getting back from a 1 week stay and already looking to book up again. The location is perfect nice and private , secluded no passing traffic or anything just a lovely cottage in the middle of a valley. Thank you for an amazing stay.

We arrived at Pennant Uchaf on a blisteringly hot August afternoon, to find what can only be described as the most beautiful Sykes cottage in an utterly idyllic location. Surrounded by nothing but hills and sheep, this cottage is a gem! Spacious, well appointed and very well maintained, this sympathetic restoration proved to be the ideal holiday location. The kitchen dining and living area were large enough to host all of us, the outside area is extensive, the hot tub was warm of an evening and the parking is plentiful. The beds are supremely comfortable with crisp sheets and duvet covers and soft pillows. We had our shop delivered by Tesco, and so had no real need to venture beyond the valley walls, preferring instead to laze away our days in the sun. This has to be my favourite of all the Sykes Cottages Ive tried.

We had a fabulous time at Pennant Uchaf celebrating our beautiful bride to be. Everything was catered for and the picturesque views were stunning from The hot tub. Fantastic cottage in a beautiful valley. The property itself is very nicely finished and comfortable. But the real draw is the outside the garden and hot tub are lovely and the countryside right outside the front door is wonderful. Quiet, remote, energising. Iestyn is a super helpful host. We were a family of 6 plus dogs and there was plenty of room to relax and have fun. Highly recommended.

An absolutely wonderful stay! This cottage is surrounded by stunning scenery and peaceful nature. The views were breathtaking, and the tranquil atmosphere made it the perfect place to relax and unwind. The cottage itself was spotless, cozy, and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Every detail was thoughtfully arranged, making us feel right at home. The hosts were friendly, welcoming, and always helpful, which made our experience even more enjoyable. We truly loved every moment of our stay and we can't wait to return!

We had such a lovely stay for 3 nights over NYE! The property was exactly as described and probably exceeded expectations in terms of all the facilities, how well equipped it was and also the cleanliness! It was the perfect size for 7 of us and 2 dogs and ticked all the boxes we wanted in terms of when we wanted to chill out around the house in the living roomkitchen, or the hot tub and around the fire pit in the garden, but there were also so many great walks in the area for when we wanted to get out and about! We would definitely recommend the property to others!

The property was pristine, really nice with lots of nice details that I haven't really seen elsewhere. Bluetooth sound system in the lounge, smart TV's in every bedroom, great hot tub. The location is nicely secluded, scenery is great. There is a nice circular route at the doorstep to walk up and trace along the hill, looking down into the valley. We had a really good time, plenty of open space to sit and socialise, game, etc. Owners very friendly and helpful, I will absolutely be coming back! Thanks alot.

We stayed at Pennant Uchaf for a week and absolutely loved every moment. The cottage is finished to a very high standard spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and extremely comfortable. The views and surrounding scenery are simply breathtaking, and we enjoyed exploring the many local walks right on our doorstep as well as exploring mid Wales for the first time. The hot tub was a fantastic feature and the perfect way to relax after a day out. Everything about the cottage felt welcoming and peaceful, with great attention to detail throughout. The location is ideal for anyone who loves nature, tranquility, and a touch of luxury. The owners are fantastic and very welcoming, we have rented a lot of holiday cottages over the years and this definitely ranks as one of the best. Wed highly recommend Pennant Uchaf to anyone looking for a relaxing break in beautiful surroundings were already looking forward to returning!

Myself and 3 friends stayed for a week to escape the hustle and bustle of city life Birmingham and were well impressed with the location, comfort and cleanliness of the property. It's just about as secluded as you can make it, with basically just sheep for neighbours! Iestyn is a great chap to chat to, and hes done wonders with converting the barn to a relaxing, modern accommodation. Highly recommend if you like a rural setting, with fantastic landscape views, and a great hot tub to sit in and enjoy it all.

The most perfect cottage in the most beautiful setting we didn't want to leave! The previous reviews say it all Pennant Uchaf is beautifully designed and furnished to a high standard with every appliance you need, and more. But the star of this show is the stunning scenery which is even pretty in the heaviest of downpours! With nothing but the sound of the sheep and birds and the breeze in the trees, this is a slice of paradise hidden within the Welsh hills. With no light pollution, the clear night sky is as amazing as the views in daylight. Our advise is to arrive with plenty of food & drink, hide your car keys for a few days, and simply enjoy everything that Pennant Uchaf has to offer. Iestyn is a lovely host, checking in to ensure everything was fine but without intruding. We can't wait to return this has become our favourite part of Cymru.

What a fantastic place! From the moment we arrived, we unwound immediately the kitchen was stocked with all the essentials, the beds were fabulous, the hottub perfect, and the views are incredible! Tucked away in mid Wales, we were able to forget about work and relax into our surroundings. This must be Wales' best kept secret.

We loved our stay! As a group of 8, all of us were all in agreance that we will be coming back here time and time again. The property was modern and had all the facilities and amenities we needed. It was super clean and spacious, with a view that never gets old! The owners were super pleasant and even let us check out later! 1000 will be returning.

WOW ! what a place. Beautiful house, very clean & tidy. Outstanding views, quiet and peaceful. Everything in the house and more, air fryer, sound system etc. We really couldnt have asked for a nice place to stay. Myself, Alan & Storm woof came for my 30th Birthday and stayed for 5 nights and it was amazing. It was lovely to meet the 3 generations of your family. A beautiful property in an idyllic location. Pennant Uchaf ticks all boxes. We were a family of 4 generations from 0 85 years old and there wasnt one single issue, so I can certainly say its suitable for all. We will certainly be recommending Pennant Uchaf to friends and family and we are already discussing our next visit.

This place is a hidden gem! There were 4 couples in our party and we all had an amazing stay. The facilities were 1st class highly recommend

55 Beautiful, Peaceful Retreat with Thoughtful Touches Stayed May 2025 Party Family group ages 2049 We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful holiday home. The views are absolutely stunning and the peaceful setting makes it the perfect place to truly unwind and escape everyday life. The property is very wellequipped and everything has been thoughtfully prepared to make guests feel welcome and comfortable. Some great added extras made our stay even better including a Ninja double drawer air fryer and a Bluetooth sound system, which were both really useful and appreciated. A quick tip for future guests there are no shops nearby, so be sure to stock up before you arrive or be prepared to travel. There is a Coop in Machynlleth, and there are larger supermarkets in Newtown. The hosts were wonderful and couldnt have been more helpful. We would definitely love to return in the future. We had an amazing 2 night stay, the house was perfect, it was really clean and had everything that was needed throughout our stay. Owner was very friendly and helped throughout. 100 recommended to anyone looking for a family get away.

The cottage is as close to perfect as you could ever get. It's spacious, in a beautiful location where you can truly switch off and is equipped and decorated to a high standard. We had 3 generations here who were all catered for. The owner was very helpful and dealt with our query immediately. The garden area has been beautifully done and the hot tub was simply thr icing on the cake. Great place to stock up on good food and relax. We will definitely be back. Thank you so much.

This house is amazing, what can we say that hasn't been said. Please read reviews they are all spot on . If you want something different in the mountains, this house is for you. Do a big shop before you arrive and don't leave the house for at least two day's.

The property is exactly as listed, its perfect if you want a quiet escape! The facilities were great and even had basics like dishwasher tablets, laundry detergent and kitchen roll already provided which were very handy. The smart TV was also a nice bonus. The hot tub was really well maintained and all the rooms and toilets were in excellent condition and very clean.

We had a fantastic stay. The house was immaculate and very well presented with everything we needed. The indoor and outdoor spaces were beautiful, furnished to a very high standard and the perfect place to relax. The hot tub was a hit with our party and we made great use of it all week. There was quite a drive to the attractions we wanted to see but this was a minor issue in comparison to how peaceful the holiday home was. We were welcomed by the family nearby but they allowed us privacy which was brilliant. Thank you for a great week.

Wow. This holiday home really is incredible. A large 4 bedroom house with ample space, and really comfortable beds. The open plan downstairs is great for family living, and the seperate utility room with a washer & tumble dryer was so handy with two young children. The owners really have thought about everything. There is a double ninja air fryer which was an added bonus to the already fully equipped kitchen. We had absolutely everything we needed for our stay. The quality of all of the furnishings are brilliant, with no expense spared and only great quality items, including all of the bedding and soft furnishings too. As for the location the photos dont do it justice. The landscape is stunning and its so peaceful, you can only hear the sheep and the stream running. The hot tub was the perfect temperature and you can see so many stars on a clear night. If you want a tranquil break this is your place! Would 100 return for another family holiday! 1010!

An absolutely fabulous holiday home. Extremely well appointed with everything you need for a relaxing stay. If you are looking for off the beaten track then this is the place to be. Amazing views and peace and quiet with access to walks close by, plus some a little further afield if you want to venture out by car. A proper hidden gem which I would thoroughly recommend for any season of the year.

The property itself is in pristine condition, I genuinely thought we may have been the first people to stay its that well kept. You have everything you need here and the hot tub is perfect for a relaxing evening. The owners are lovely and would often check in when we passed on the drive in. A beautiful stay in an amazing location. The property had everthing you could need for you to stay in luxury. Loved the integrated speakers enabling music to be streamed and the hot tub with the views was just perfect. This was our second visit as a group including two youngsters and a four legged friend and we had another fantastic trip. The location is peaceful and the scenery dramatic. You want for nothing in the property and it really does cater for all. It is beautifully decorated and, a particular feature that is often overlooked in holiday cottages, has lovely bed linen and wonderfully comfortable beds. Iestyn and Elin are the most wonderful of owners and pointed us to a lovely walk through the fields to the river where the kids said hello to all the sheep on the way! We even had one of the lovely farm dogs guide us down there a total highlight for the boys!!. This year the sun shone for us each day and we thoroughly enjoyed the decking. The fire pit was a fantastic addition that allowed us to extend the evenings too. It also helps that it is only a 30 min drive from Dyfi Bike Park, which is a key feature for the more adventurous in our contingent! We cannot wait to return!!

Iestyn was a lovely warm and friendly guy Nothing was too much trouble and he offered us some good local knowledge for walks etc. it was a care that wasnt intrusive he left us in peace and quiet to enjoy the break away in their beautiful home, but never far away. The valley in which the accommodation is set in might be the most beautiful we have stayed at. If youre looking for a peaceful time away from the hustle and bustle of life, this place is highly recommended. We feel privileged that Iestyn and Elin have shared their insight to life and nature with us and they should be proud of the service theyre offering.

I suffer with health issues and live in a built up area with planes cars schools all surrounding my home. I have stayed at many isolated home to get away from this noise pollution. Yet none have been as private and peaceful and as quiet as this property. It was extremely clean and tidy. The hot tub was great for my pain, the views were great from the hot tub and made the experience even more relaxing. The standard of decoration is modern clean spacious uncluttered place for everything and everything in its place. Was luxurious. You do not need to bring much at all. Kitchen has everything you would need to make a meal. It even has a brand new airdryer two section ninja. Coffee pod and machine instant coffee white cubes & brown cubes sugar. Every kind of glass you would possibly need champagne gin tumblers whiskey. Tea pot & cups mugs. Cafeteria. The only thing this is then is missing is a weighing scales and a measuring jug. Due to the attention to detail the owners will no doubt add these now Ive mentioned it as they really have forgotten nothing. The only reason I missed these items was due to my friend and I spent the majority of the week at the house so we cooked. Which included stake sauce and Yorkshire puds , but we managed and it took nothing away from our holiday. Most people are out and about and not away to cook. I only mention it as we plan on returning do will be great to have next time. They have absolutely everything else in the kitchen. MW, dishwasher pots and pains knifes oven baking trays all kinds grater scissors chopping boards clear bowls for mixing and even better they provide dishwasher tabs and every sink has hand wash. Normally you get two and have to buy some for the rest of the week so this was great. Same with hand wash great touch. Bin bags food waste tidy cleaning clothes plenty of tea towel rather than the usual 1 you normally get. Massive table that seats 10. Big island seats 4 with wine cooler. I could go on and on. Downstairs shower room and utility and toilet hot tub towels in the Right side blue cupboard of down stairs utility room sink. Washer & dryer that is rare. Normally only washer. There is also a main bathroom upstairs with big bath and another shower. Nice and big and each room is provided with various towels. Tv in some of the bedrooms and kids play room with tv off the twin bedroom. On suite shower toilet in main queen sized bedroom and great views from all rooms. All bedrooms very spacious. Tv has Netflix prime Disney which is great for those rainy days. Lots of leaflets with things to do in the area. Broadband for upstairs due to blind spots upstairs as well as downstairs separate WiFi. Advice use the scan code to log into downstairs WiFi as it is not clear in the black book which Letters are lower or upper case if you try to put it in manually. Maybe owners can make that clearer in the book, only a little thing and no issue for us. Just in case you lose the scan it might come in handy. The upstairs code is easy 666666. The house had speakers in the ceilings allowing music everywhere this was a great touch and enjoyed by us massively. No neighbours to worry about means you can crank up your favourite tunes while you relax in the hot tub. Watching the wildlife youre surrounded by. Little bunnies countless birds sheep on the mountains lambs cows. Sound of running water. All water comes from a localised spring and is drinkable in all rooms. Stars at night so bright and sky clear. You can hair a pin drop. Plenty of parking. But most importantly you have to open a gate and drive 100m up a path to reach your house. Which means no people walking past and no through traffic. Which makes this property even more special. There is lots of places to eat food shop and see throughout wales and all within access of a short drive. Lots of walks from the property. Dogs welcome and loved the garden and surrounding areas. Beds were comfortable and pillows plenty off. I really cannot fault this property. Will definitely be back. The owner popped up to welcome us, offer any help or advice, lovely friendly guy. Other than that your left to your own devices. He and his mother are at the end of the phone if you need them though. If you like the beach its around a 401hour drive depending on the beach you choose, travelling on empty roads no traffic, surrounded by beautiful scenery. Lots of little towns worth a visit with shops bakery and pub food. Or you can do what we did most of the week and put your feet up with a nice glass of wine good food after a hot tub, enjoy the peace. We visited Conway which is a track but worth it. And stopped at several small villages driving through the park in the way home. Was a nice day out. Thanks to the owners highly recommended
