Owl's Hoot Reviews

Lovely comfortable and clean modern cottage in a quiet rural location. The upstairs TV lounge was a cosy spot and the BroadbandWiFi signal was strong enough for the smart TV to have no hiccups even with the other cottages occupied. The 'welcome' stem ginger loaf cake was absolutely delicious! It was worth going for that alone! We would definitely use Lelley Barns again.
An exceptionally well appointed property. Great location, clean and well maintained hot tub and super responsive hosts. Couldn't have asked for anytime more from a New Year get away. Great job.
Rebecca
What an absolute gem of a place. Beautiful accommodation and grounds, top quality decor, and absolutely spotless. I was a bot apprehensive about booking somewhere pet friendly, but there was no evidence of pets ever being there. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Owls Hoot.

We had a fantastic stay from start to end. Good communication with the owner. Some lovely walks, walked across the fields to Sproatley and had a drink at both pubs, food ok. Went to the Stags Inn twice, food was amazing and the staff were so welcoming definitely recommend. Hot tub was appreciated at the end of each day. We have stayed at the other barns and always been beautiful, need to try the Pheasants Place and mission completed

We had an absolutely incredible stay at this lodge! From the moment we arrived, everything was spotless and so well cared forit truly felt like a home away from home. We stayed for 5 days and were amazed at how perfectly maintained the property was throughout our entire visit. One of the highlights was the hot tubit was sparkling clean every single day. The gentleman who came by to check and clean it was one of the most polite, respectful, and kind people weve met. His attention to detail and warm demeanor made us feel so well looked after. The lodge itself was cozy, immaculate, and had everything we could possibly need. You can tell the owners take great pride in creating a welcoming and comfortable experience for their guests. We cannot recommend this place highly enough. If youre looking for the perfect combination of cleanliness, comfort, and genuine hospitality, this is the spot. It also has an amazing view of the beautiful countryside surrounded by peaceful walks. Well definitely be coming back! Thankyou!
This is a fabulous property in a peaceful location. Plenty of room for 2 people with the added bonus of a hot tub and outdoor areas. Very well equipped with everything we needed. The decor is very well maintained and the house was extremely clean. The hosts were very responsive to queries, both before and during our stay.

The property is fantastic clean and tidy and well equipped Jane the owner is a lovely lady and she is very friendly we had a problem with the iron but they sorted it the very next day without any fuss only downfall and Its not much was we would have liked a better outdoor seating area but wasnt fussed we will definitely be staying again

Our holiday at Owls Hoot was pleasant. The cottage was spaces, vey clean with comfortable furnitures and a nice bathroom. Although we would have preferred a firmer bed. For people who like to cook there were a few small items missing, but of no great concern, i.e. small sharp knives, small strainer, egg cups, small bowls. The freezers is in an awkward cupboard under the stairs. A bit of a challenge to get to, especially if you are 82!
Well what a wonderful place to spend some relaxing time! ! Such a beautiful place, the grounds and barns are immaculate, very good quality throughout and we would definitely recommend Lelley barns to anyone. The only and I mean the only very slight negative is the bed mattress although good quality I have no doubt, it feels like its showing its age or that might be us
Perfect place to stay for a getaway from it all break. Everything you need and more finished to a high standard .the freezer under the stairs could be a little tricky for the less flexible and watch youre head but thats not really a criticism .great for youre four legged friends as a big field outside the door the best heating system Ive ever come across on our many years of booking with Sykes thermostat for every area would highly recommend and hopefully be back one day to try another property
We had a really lovely stay here for a few days. Just a couple of constructive bits the shower tiles did need a clean in the grouting. And the hot tub did need a clean also. It was checked as we saw somebody pop by. By the looks of it, there could have been some fake take wearers previously as I know how ours can get when I wear fake tan in the summer. Otherwise, We thought it was lovely and modern and loved the lounge area upstairs. I have seen a few comments about the bed, however. we actually found it comfortable personally even with a more firm bed at home. We enjoyed the chocolate cake that was left so thank you so much. The games were a nice touch also as its something we dont do at home. There were a few nice places to visit and the stag inn pub just up the road was really lovely. We had a great stay, and our usually nervous dog was very content and we would recommend. Thank you x
Excellent stay and lodge

Beautiful cottage. Immaculately clean and comfortable. Lovely surroundings. We enjoyed watching the rabbits whilst sitting having our morning coffee. Hot tub was clean and was fab after a long walk ! The stag would also recommend very friendly and efficient and food was fab. Will definitely be back. Thankyou !
Excellent place and a great hot tub, all in all just what we needed.

We had a lovely stay at Owls Hoot. The lodge and grounds are beautifully kept. The kitchen is wellequipped and it was lovely to arrive to lemon drizzle cake and a filled decanter. The upstairs lounge area was very comfortable too. The hot tub was very private and well maintained too. As we have an electric car, it really helped to have an EV charger on site. We saw loads of wildlife. Loads of pros. The only con the bed was saggy and not very comfortable. It didnt spoil our stay but worth the owners knowing as they wouldnt know otherwise!
Owls Hoot has been so well thought out very well equipped and comfortable in a beautiful country setting yet close to the sea. The owner is very friendly and helpful. We had a great holiday and look forward to going back! For us, it was a perfect destination.
Owls Hoot was lovely, scenery was beautiful out of the front window, perfect stay, we will definitely come back for a break. Thank you.
Im going to talk about the only negative first and the only reason I gave it 4 stars because I just dont want another dog to go through that. Im going to start by saying the negative isnt anything the owners can control, and they were lovely when we mentioned it however Id like to have known beforehand maybe in the listing or something so we could have made an informed decision. We were there nearly 7 days, and throughout this time, there was always really loud bangs that sounds almost like a single firework going off but intermittently throughout the whole day. Starts really early at 7am which is annoying but most importantly, ruined the experience for our dog. He was very scared of the loud bangs, affected whether he wanted to go out toilet or anywhere really or not, because as soon as he heard those bangs, he wanted to rush back in and hide. It wasnt very pleasant to watch. So if you have dogs that are nervous, hate loud firework type bangs, then I would recommend leaving them at home. More confident dogs may be ok with it. But you know your dog best. The property in general was amazing! Well worth the money. You would think because its in a secluded area that there wouldnt be a lot to do, but there are! Parks, beaches, etc. A lot of thought had been put into making your experience comfortable down to having a washing machine. Theres a little folder telling you where all the nice spots are, where to eat, takeaway menu etc, it genuinely is really well thought out. The apartments are stylish, comfortable and just the best place weve stayed at. The owners are really lovely and will sort out anything you need asap as long as you inform them. We absolutely loved the stay ourselves, just a real shame our dog couldnt have the same experience due to the loud bangs. I will highly recommend that if the bangs are an everyday thing, that the info should be included in the listing so people can make an informed decision. Overall, this is a place I will highly recommend you stay at.
Angela
Owls Hoot was very comfortable and provided a perfect base for our stay. The only problem we had was with the EV charger which was not working when we arrived and took some time to sort out with the company.
The lodge is stunning throughout and has everything you could need. We were not happy with the hot tub as half the jets didnt work and the ones that did were not very powerful. There is also no real privacy at the lodge. We had neighbours playing outside our property and even with the rear blinds closed they could still see in directly through to the bedroom area. The best thing about the stay was the Stags head this is 0.6 mile away, 1015 minutes walk on a road with no footpath or lighting. The staff there were great and the food amazing would highly recommended. All in all we enjoyed our stay and our complaints were only minor things like no where to put your food as cupboards all full, shower was stuck on max heat but spoke to owner who directed us what to do, hot tub, privacy. We wouldnt return to the lodge again but would definitely return to the Stags Head.
Absolutely fantastic from start to finish nothing to fault at all. The lodge and hot tub was extremely clean. Very easy to deal with and neighbours were great also. 1010 would definitely recommend. I will be returning
This is a fabulous place. It was clean, modern and comfortable. We didnt watch the television but its a huge television. We liked sitting upstairs in the afternoon. The bed was really comfortable. We used the hot tub every day. The Stags head was our favourite place for food. We walked one evening, its very dark but the drivers were respectful and slowed down. We visited the coast and really enjoyed Blu Luna for lunch in Beverley dog friendly too. Unfortunately we had to come home 2 days earlier than expected as our little dog became very unwell, it was very upsetting. I contacted the owners and they were very understanding. We would definitely visit again though.
Best Christmas holiday we have had we go away every Christmas this tops them all the accommodation was perfect lovely surroundings and great food at the local pub the stags head. We highly recommend this accommodation many thanks and a Happy New year to the hosts from Peter and Belinda.
William
Lovely chilled out weekend, would recommend to anyone for a nice get away. Pub down the road also great food and good beer. Will look at coming back in the future. Thanks. William.

Owls Hoot was in a good location. We had beach days at mapleton and hornsea where we saw porpoises swimming offshore. we took our small dog and both the beaches and the local pub were very dog friendly. The Stags Head did delicious food and we ate there daily! The grounds were good for exercising the dog and had great views. Highly recommend!
We absolutely loved our stay at Owl's Hoot. The cottage was wellappointed, clean, tidy, and was to a high standard. We enjoyed sitting on the mezzanine with a coffee looking out at the fantastic surrounding area. Our sincere thanks to you all for maintaining the Hot Tub, which we used daily. We would have loved to have been able to leave our praise in the guest book upon leaving but there were no pages left! Thank you for a fantastic, relaxing stay. We hope to visit again next year.
Beautiful barn conversion and spotlessly clean. Very well equipped throughout. In an amazing peaceful spot overlooking countryside. Hot tub was great and sat outside for most of the time enjoying the beautiful weather.
Had a great stay. Very peaceful location with fabulous views of the countryside. The property is well equipped and has modern facilities. The Stags Head Inn serves great food and is dog friendly. It is within walking distance but more like 0.6 miles from the property a bit too far for an elderly dog but fine for able bodied humans! Would stay there again
Amazing, would come again.
We really enjoyed our stay at owls hoot and will definitely be going back there again. It is so relaxing and peaceful. I will be recommending to family and friends
Jackie
