Cunliffe Barn Reviews

We had a really lovely, relaxing week here with our cat and would happily return. The property is spacious, peaceful and in a great location with easy access to local amenities. We especially enjoyed visiting a nearby butchers for some great quality, reasonably priced meat. The setting is perfect for unwinding we loved seeing the horses in the field opposite, along with bunnies and other wildlife during our stay. Inside, the bedrooms are very spacious with plenty of storage, and the layout works really well. The upstairs bathroom has a great powerful shower, and the additional downstairs toilet is a useful extra. It was also nice having both a main living area with a TV and a separate cosy sitting room. The hot tub was a great addition and we made good use of it throughout the week. A couple of small improvements could make the stay even better the kitchen could benefit from a few more utensils, and while everything was comfortable overall, the beds may not suit everyones preference. Overall, a really enjoyable stay in a lovely setting, and we would definitely consider returning.

We had a wonderful time here and will definitely be back! There were 3 of us, 2 adults and a 4yearold. Hot tub was the perfect way to unwind and we really enjoyed the space, the comfy beds, the bath and shower, and how well laid out the whole place was. A couple of things need updatingreplacing we could not get the dishwasher to work properly at all. It just ejected the tablet into the cutlery part and didnt wash properly which was a little frustrating. It would be great to have foolproof instructions so we know we are doing the right things. The WiFi is slow, so dont go expecting to be able to stream anything really good for unplugging and putting the internet down!. The kitchen could do with some salt, though honestly I always forget salt! Finally, the clothes rack is completely broken and needs replacing, one of the poles has clean broken in two. None of this massively made the break bad and we genuinely were very sad to leave. My 4yearold has asked when we are coming back! The treats, bread, Prosecco, and bacon were very well received. Thank you for a truly wonderful break!
Sandra
A lovely accommodation, the welcome pack was a lovely thought. Very nice location, and will stay again in the warmer months.
Our 4th time at this delightful barn and just as good as the others. Actually probably better! Absolutely loved the Christmas tree and decorations on the 1st day of December. What a lovely touch! My only request would be to provide some microwaveable dishes and plastic glasses for use when in the hot tub. Other than that x its perfect!
Claire
A lovely stay in a beautiful location The barn is very spacious with a well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and furnishings. Very quick response when there was a maintenance issue with a faulty shower head which was replaced the same day as I reported it. Thank you! Travelling with a toddler it would have been helpful to have the option of stairgates with the downstairs all being open plan and a nonslip mat in the bath would also be helpful
Its our 2nd time here and we love this place, perfect location, lovely little ... Its our 2nd time here and we love this place, perfect location, lovely little village and a 5 minute walk to the original emerdale woolpack, loads of places to go especially for the dogs, the only reason why I gave it a 4 star instead of 5 is that there's not enough utensils in the kitchen ie measuring bowls, Colander, big ovan dish, big sharp knives 1 big knife still there off last year snapped in half, other than that its perfect and the best welcome pack we've had at sykes cottages
Rachel
Just home from a wonderful relaxing break. Cuncliffe Barn is a cut above the rest, stunning location, all home comforts and luxurious finishing touches. The hot tub and bbq table were firm favourites! As Emmerdale fans, having The Woolpack a stones throw away was an added bonus! Food there recommended too Great communication with the owners too. We enjoyed it so much we have booked the larger house to come back in December! Highly recommended
Judith
Great property in lovely peaceful surroundings.
We have stayed here many times. Its position is brilliant. Secluded, quiet, picturesque yet within easy distance to several villages towns and their amenities and having the famous Woolpack in the village is a bonus! The Barn itself is well equipped and very comfortable. The hottub is so relaxing and private. The only negative we noticed was the bathroom is getting very tired and was very disappointed to see black mould in the corners of the bath. Please sort this out as it did put us off a bit.
What a beautiful house! Very private in a really lovely village with nice walks around. Perfect enclosed area for the dog to run around in. Would definitely recommend and hope to be booking again with the house behind to bring the family
This is our 2nd visit here, we will be back again. The barn is beautiful and very well equipped. The welcome basket is a really nice touch. I would ask that some dishwasher instructions are left as I managed to work it once only!! So could you leave a washing up bowl for idiots like me please. Also a colander would be useful. Have recommended this to friends and family who are currently looking at dates.
Cunliffe Barn is an incredibly welcoming and relaxing space in a beautiful location. We had the perfect couple of days we were working locally, so this was a nice retreat each evening and the cottage was very well equipped. The welcome goodies were also most welcome. Thank you, we will be back!
Malcolm
Wonderful holiday. Would highly recommend to anyone
Excellent property, with high standard facilities in a very quiet location, but not far to access shops, town centres and local area. Short walk to village pub which served really good food. The owners provided a really extensive welcome pack which was much appreciated and used, many thanks. Made great use of hot tub. Parked in Guiseley for free and took train into Leeds city centre which is only 15 minutes by train, so hassle free. Brilliant stay helped by the warm dry weather. Would definitely recommend and stay again.
Justin
Really stunning and contemporary cottage, and lively to stay at, from the welcome pack to the wool pack! !! Modern yet still had styletaste and plenty of room. Only 3 critiques in the spirit of improvement 1 needs better WiFi 2 bathroom could have a better shower 3 garden isnt really enclosed fix the gate and itll be a bit better but not dog proof Overall still would highly recommend and would return in a heartbeat
Andrew
Fantastic property in a beautiful location. Fully recommend it and certainly on our list for a return visit.
Fabulous accommodation, everything you could want and more! Greeted by a lovely welcome selection of nibbles & treats. Even a bottle of Prosecco, milk, eggs, crisps, biscuits along with teacoffee & fresh bread. Logs and kindle ready to light the fire. We even managed to have a little BBQ on the table outside, worked perfectly. Location was superb, not over looked, yet cozy & warm, its got a rural feel about the place but youre 5 mins from civilisation. Really loved our stay and would like to return! Wholeheartedly recommend this fabulous little gem of a cottage. Clearly, someone knows what theyre doing. Keep the amazing work up we appreciated all the little bits & bobs.
Such a lovely property in a lovely area. Everything at Cunliffe Barn is so welcoming and clean, towels and bedding were lovely and the hot tub was so relaxing and easy to use. What a lovely relaxing stay we had for a week. A gem of a place just to get away from it all. Thanks Hayley for putting the lovely tree up for our arrival. 1010.

This place is an absolute gem! Set in a quiet area within reach of a beautiful village, the barn has both a feel of a combination of an old style cottage but with a modern design. The interior is beautifully designed and is very spacious, which includes a snug area with a wood burner. The kitchen is modern and has everything you will need for preparing meals. On arrival, we found a gift basket that had numerous items bread, bacon, butter, crisps, Prosecco, milk, eggs and Popcorn which was a lovely touch. We only had one issue, which was we utilised the gift basket for our bread products only to find that we had had an overnight visitor which opened and pinched alot of the bread products, this wasn't a big deal for us as you are in the middle of fields so you expect that sort of thing. We did let the owners know but only for information. Luckily the weather was kind to us so we utilised the outdoor space and hot tub every day overlooking the beautiful views. Esholt itself is a loveley village, and we visited the Woolpack for evening meal which we enjoyed and is within walking distance. Cunliffe Barn was used as a base to explore the Yorkshire countryside. We would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a memorable stay in a very quiet spot of Yorkshire!
