Cow Byre, Great Tew

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage, and was a great base for trips around the Cotswolds. Inside the property was comfortable and had everything we needed. The kitchen is well equipped and all appliances were in good order. The lounge furniture a little tired, but still very comfy. Lounge TV is on the way out as when first turned on half the screen is scrambled for several minutes before clearing. Worth replacing with smart TV to allow visitors to watch streaming services in future. The property is listed as dog friendly but no dogs are allowed upstairs or on furniture and this is not shown on the listing. A poorly fitted stair gate was at base of stairs but a strong dog would bypass this. Some dog owners may struggle with this if dogs are used to sleeping upstairs. There is one water bowl, so defo need to bring your own for their food. The hot tub was very clean and well used during our stay, we thoroughly enjoyed relaxing each evening after long walks each day. Birds were nesting nearby on the guttering so we could watch the adult birds flying back and forth. The garden is to the front of the property and is fully enclosed, which meant our dog was lovely and safe whilst we relaxed in the hot tub. The garden trees and shrubs were quite overgrown and could defo do with a solid cut back. The garden furniture sofa and bench were dirty and also need a thorough clean, as we did not want to use them in that state. We did have to ask for the nettles to side of the hot tub to be cut back on the 2nd day to better access the hot tub lid bars, which the owners did very swiftly. Overall this is a lovely cottage and we enjoyed a relaxing time here with our dog. A solid 4 star stay.

Lovely cottage in an ideal location. Private parking is easily accessed. Cottage is in a quiet rural setting. Property is exactly as listed in advert. Very clean with all facilities necessary for a lovely stay evening down to the provision of tea, sugar etc. Perfect size accommodation for a couple. Outdoor space is great. Private secluded garden with hot tub which was very well maintained and very much appreciated on a hot summers evening. Owners are very helpful all key and direction info sent over before our stay. Information books in the cottage for hot tub etc are very informative. Owners live in the next property but are not at all invasive. Would definitely recommend this property and we will be returning in the future.

What a lovely place to stay and in a great location rural and peaceful, but with everything easily accessible and all amenities available in nearby Chipping Norton. Facilities were great and well thought out. Wouldve preferred a bigger bed, but maybe thats just personal preference.

Bbq provided Tv signal very hit or miss

Lovely cottage, great layout and very comfortable. Peaceful location, only comment is the hot tub was lovely but having the neighbourinv hot tub only a few feet away meant we alternated our time in there to haveallow them some privacy. Would still book again!

Cow Byre is a lovely cottage with lovely hot tub and front garden perfect for our 2 dogs. Loved the log burner, sofa and lovely spacious bedroombathroom upstairs with nice welcome gifts for my husband's birthday. Central location not far from Chipping Norton and Great Tew and the Cotswolds in general. The only things I would mention is the dripping tap in the kitchen was annoying reported to owners and thicker duvets in the bedrooms would have made it more comfortable.

What a beautiful place to stay with the added extra of coming back home to a lovely clean hot tub. The cottage has everything you need for your stay, great location for a lovely walk. Our golden retriever loved his stay. Thank you so much will be returning

A very comfortable holiday cottage in a quiet location. The furnishings and decor were individual and bold, not the generic 'bland' often encountered. Owners were unobtrusive but available if needed. Garden was secure allowing the dog to potter around without close supervision. Hot tub was kept clean and warm and is easily big enough for four. A new cover is on order which will make things easier re openingclosing the tub.

The cottage is beautiful and the location, though very remote, is lovely. We stayed in September so the duvets could have done with being a little thicker but I'm sure they will be by the much colder months. We were missing a tea towel which was a minor nuisance. We did use the hot tub and the water clouded due to us being in and out of the water but we were happy with it. The owner was very curt with us the second morning and changed the water which meant we couldn't use the hot tub on the second evening which was a real shame as that was the reason we booked.

Cow Byre was very clean, well equipped kitchen. As a hot tub owner I found the tub to be very disappointing, the lid in awful condition no lifter for the cover and the controls should have been same side as the steps. Also very over looked. The Log burner superb only issue was after the initial log package left couldnt purchase more as was told it was being cleaned out the next day which is odd when I booked this you expect what is on offer at the cottage you should be able to use. We did have a pleasant stay apart from those issues.

We had a exceptional stay, everything was immaculate and clean. It was so peaceful and we loved it.

This is a beautiful cottage with a hot tub set in amazing countryside. We stayed for two nights, but wish we had booked for longer to do more. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend and hoping to return next year x

We had a very enjoyable week at Cow Byre. Accommodation was very comfortable & quiet & was as described. It was ideally placed for our daily trips which included to Burford we had a brilliant day at the Cotswold Wildlife Park & Gardens which is thoroughly recommended, Oxford, StratforduponAvon & Warwick Castle. We found some nice pubs for our evening meals nearby special mentions for The Fox were we had a lovely Sunday roast booking appeared essential & especially to The Boxing Hare a bit more expensive than some, but definitely worth it. Thank you Julie & Jo for a lovely stay & for the welcome gifts.

Nice welcome gift, ovengloves in kitchen would have been useful. Wardrobe space in the second room would have helped.

We were happy with the location. Very peaceful and relaxing. The quality and level of facilities was excellent. We loved the garden facilities ,especially the hot tub which we used daily, The owner has clearly gone the extra mile to make the holiday memorable and has provided everything you need for a great holiday in the Cotswolds

Cow Byre is a beautiful cozy, clean cottage. We settled in very quickly as did our dog The owners, Julie and Jo, were very friendly. We are definitely going back there

The property was lovely. Very nice little extras. All that we required. As we used it as a base we did not have time to use the Hot Tub, shame. Can certainly recommend it.

Beautiful cottage in the heart of the countryside but convenient enough to explore the area. Cottage was immaculate and the welcome pack was very kind and thoughtful. A real gem especially with the hot tub. Great that our four legged friends are welcomed too. Memorable moment was when packing the car, left boot up to go and get the dog and came back to find a very friendly chicken in the boot

This property was very clean and tidy. It had everything we needed and was generally really lovely. The hot tub was certainly a real treat. The only issue we had was that although dogs were allowed at the property, we were not allowed to leave them alone and we only found this out when we arrived. It didnt say this on the listing. This may not be an issue for some but for us it was important. We went for my husbands birthday so we wanted to be able to go out for a nice meal to celebrate, but this would mean taking our two dogs with us. One of our dogs isnt great in pubscafes so it ended up being quite an inconvenience for us. I understand the reasons for this rule but it would have been good to know in advance rather than when we arrived.

We had a great stay at The Cow Byre, great base to travel around the Cotswolds. The cottage had everything you needed during your stay and was very clean. We would definitely recommend to others and would look to rebook in the future.

Well equipped kitchen, lovely, secure garden with seating areas and easily accessible hot tub. Selection of board games and jigsaws . Owners friendly and on hand if needed.

Had a very enjoyable stay at Cow Byre the property had everything you need for a good break in a lovely part of the country. Nothing negative to say at all about our stay . Visited several National Trust properties in the area and enjoyed our two visits to the Falkland Arms in Great Tew. Would certainly stay again in the near future.

We had a fantastic stay at Cow Byre, very tranquil, comfortable and clean, perfect location for us as we like walking and getting out and about. You have supermarkets and plenty of eating out places down the road in chipping Norton. I would certainly stay again and would certainly recommend this lovely cottage to anybody. Lovely house, pretty much in the sticks, nothing particularly in walking distance. Hot tub a great feature however the chlorine can be overpowering at times. Whilst it is understood why the beds have a waterproof mattress protector on but be warned they properly make you sweat at night which was pretty horrible and damaged our sleep. The house is missing a couple of things black out curtains in the bedrooms, more cleaning facilities very little washing soap and surface spray available but also some more baking trays for food.
