Me my partner and 2 kids stayed for 4 nights to be honest it was the best place where we ever stayed . It was clean and all nice furniture .A big window on the 1st floor with amazing view, hot tab was perfect at the end of our busy days . Julie was so nice and a fantastic host ,she gave us information about all the best things to see and do . She also left some chocolate eggs out for the kids and then to top it off home made scones on the day we were leaving. we are definitely going back. 5 stars . Liene and Neil

Just home from a 5 night break, 2 adults, 2 children 13&9. Perfect homely cottage situated in a lovely little village. The owner Julie is a lovely lady and has so much passion for her little properties. Goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome, offering recommendations and lovely chats to gorgeous little touches like fresh bakes and decorative items for Easter and a bottle of fizz. The cottage is perfectly clean with everything you need and would expect from a Cottage let. Lovely thick big towels, fresh white bed linen, robes and flip flops for the hot tub. We recommend the local chip shop Frasers just a few miles out the village, we enjoyed a chippy tea one evening. Village pub has a lovely atmosphere. Real friendly people. Lots of hotspot walks only a short drive away. We enjoyed our stay so much weve booked to come again. See you next year, we all cant wait
Patrick
A perfect base for our Scafell Pike adventure!
We had a truly wonderful stay at Coney Garth. Perfect peaceful location, great facilities and such a friendly, warm welcome from Julie. The hot tub was the ideal way to relax after a day of walkingexploring. Plenty of nice thoughtful touches including tasty home baking! Thanks very much for everything Julie.

Such a nice property which is close to the seaside and to many other key areas of the Lake District.
We couldn't fault it. The cottage had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend this cottage. The owners were very welcoming and you could tell they really took the effort to make your stay a very good experience. Wouldn't hesitate in going back again.
Absolutely amazing. From the moment we got there Julie was a magnificent host. Every little detail was covered. We made the most of attractions around, muncaster castle, St bees Whitehaven, Derwent water paddle boarding and lots more. We slent our honeymoon here and could not have chosen a better destination. A knock on the door one evening, Julie with scones straight out of the oven with jam and clotted cream. Julie you are amazing. If you've found Coney Garth retreat but are not quite sure. STOP THERE. I can guarantee you will not be disappointed. Our first trip but will definitely not be our last

Lovely holiday property, clean, comfortable and the Hot Tub was great. The owner was really friendly and gave good suggestions on things to do in the local area. Despite wet weather we had a good week away as a family. Our girls 8 & 10 enjoyed the play area in the village and also days out including the Pencil Museum at Keswick, the Aquarium at Maryport, walking round Buttermere and fun at St Bees beach and playground with yummy cakes from Beach Road Bakehouse
Richard

Barbara
Absolute luxury the cottage is amazing and Geoff and Julie such brilliant hosts. We couldn't have asked for a better holiday can't wait to go back.
We stayed in the retreat for a week and couldnt have asked for anything better. The cottage had everything we needed. Having a hot tub was also ideal after a day walking on the fells. Its ideal for walking in Wasdale as its only 25 minutes away. The welcome pack of Prosecco and biscuits was lovely and even more so when we had scones and cake delivered which was a nice surprise. The view from the lounge which was upstairs was a nice addition.
We throughly enjoyed our stay the cottage was spotless and was equipped with everything you could need. The owners were lovely and it was a lovely surprise when they sent warm scones with jam and cream which was much appreciated. Would definitely recommend and look forward to booking again

Stayed here for a week and had the best stay ever, retreat has everything you need, and more. The owners are a stones throw away, without being intrusive, and they are the nicest people you could wish to meet. The village is great, with pub and great food, sky sports a bonus, all the locals very friendly. All in all a definite book again from us. Stephen and Angela
Jeanette
Absolutely gorgeous and spotlessly clean. Beds very comfy and everything needed at hand. Could not fault it.
Coney Garth Retreat such a beautiful cottage and like a home from home just much better. Loved the quarkiness of upside down living and couldn't ask for better facilties and the hottub was just what was needed after a day's exploring. The host where simply amazing from the little welcome packs to the lovely homemade cakes and scones, and where most helpful providing lots of knowledge of places for us to visit. We will definitely visit Coney Garth again
Angela
We had a great time. The accommodation was first class and the owner very friendly and helpful. I would have no reservations at all in recommending it to anyone. Plenty to see and do in the area lots of information in the cottage and helpful ideas from the owner.

Excellent holiday base. Brilliant upside down accommodation. Great first floor lounge and kitchen. The hosts, Geoff and Julie were very friendly and helpful. Amazing places to visit within easy reach of Beckermet. A great holiday.
Judith
Lovely accommodation with added bonus of a hot tub. Comfortable beds and well kept open plan livingroom kitchen. Julie was a fab host, providing great knowledge of the area and a delicious treat of cakes and scones midweek. Quieter part of the lakes with a beautiful beach and surroundings nearby to explore. Muncaster Castle and Wastwater are brilliant places to visit.
Alison
Lovely modern property and a warm welcome, after a rainy trip on the motorbikes. Coffee tea etc was kindly provided, as was a bottle of Prosecco biscuits and cake quiet private location, hot tub was used rain or shine, pub a walk away. Off road parking available. Lots of beautiful rides around the lakes and nothing too far away. Would definitely recommend and will happily return
Andrew
Absolutely gorgeous cottages. We loved everything about it. Definitely 5. Hosts very friendly and very generous with homemade goodies and bubbly. Hottub a great bonus and views from our upstairs lounge amazing. Everything was available in cottage. DVDs and games if required. Cupboard stocked with household essentials. Thick fluffy towels and robes. Beautiful area to explore. We seen so much without travelling to far. Walked 40 miles in 6 days. Won't hesitate to book any of 3 cottages but think Retreat was best......
Lovely house in a location just out with the busy tourist areas. Within a few miles of the local coop and a brilliant playpark around the corner for the kids. Most lakes were within 1 hour drive. The house itself was very easy to live in and we loved the upstairs living room as the bedrooms downstairs tended to be cooler at night. The hot tub was only used a few times and was well maintained and clean. The communication from the hosts was very friendly and helpful, suggesting local attractions that the kids would like Muncaster Castle was great!. They also dropped round home made scones and a bottle of bubbly which was very kind. Lovely break!
Christine
We had a super week stay at the Retreat, the accommodation was first class. The retreat is situated in a lovely village in a lovely area of Cumbria. The treat we recieved of fizz, lovely cream sconce, lemon drizzle cake and white chocolate cheese cake which arrived on different days during the holiday were all much appreciated. The hot pool was lovely and was used daily, even though the weather was hot for the whole week. Views from the garden and hot tub were very relaxing. My sister and brother in law visited and stayed overnight they were impressed by the property . Would certainly consider staying again sometime in the future.
Julie was very welcoming, providing an abundance of advice on days out which were excellent. A gorgeous cottage, which was very clean and with everything you could possibly need. The beds, settee and even the chairs at the dining table were extremely comfy. Lots of little extras like washing up liquid, dishwasher and washing machine tablets, foil, bin bags and even coffee pods! Dressing gowns and flip flops for the hot tub a great idea. The fizz, biscuits and scones much appreciated and delicious. Lovely aspect with all day sun. We totally relaxed and watched the sun go down from the hot tub every night. Thanks for a perfect stay a 5 star cottage and we will definitely be back!
Amazing space with a warm welcome . .. we had an excellent break
Joanne
Thank you to Julie and Geoff for a warm welcome to the cottage. It's in a lovely quiet location. The property was stunning and the fizz and biscuits were much appreciated when we arrived and the parcel of cake to take home was delicious! The location is great for access to the lakes and also the coast, we had a great stay!!
Michael
Stunning, affordable place to stay. Great location for the lakes, country pubs or general walking. We loved it, definitely be returning. We were looking for somewhere relatively close with a hot tub and we found this gem. When we fancy a hot tub, chill out then this will be the place we go, no need to search elsewhere. Clean, comfortable and modern. Great hospitality from the owners. We all loved it.
Beautiful retreat in a great place to explore the west side of the lakes. Extremely clean and well equipped, good views from the kitchen of the fells and a wonderful hot tub to enjoy. Would definitely recommend, the owners are friendly and welcoming with scones, cake, prosecco and Easter treats!...why wouldn't you want to come back? Thanks Julie and Geoff

We had a great week, lovely place to stay and very clean.
Absolutely brilliant. Exactly how it was described online. Would highly recommend. The owners greeted us with fresh scones which were lovely. Gave us recommendations on the local area for activities and food and drinks. Would definitely come back. Mark

We had a lovely trip in the Lake District. Despite the weather being not so great, the cottage was a real tranquil home away from home. It was well equipped and little things the owners had done like the welcome Prosecco, the cookies, scones etc just made the stay even more special. The cottage was clean, modern and the hot tub was a real treat, perfect for those cold days. Beckermet itself is a small town but friendly and a really nice place to just get away from the business of day to day life.
Philippa
Beautiful property, excellent hosts. Great location for lots of different activities
Amanda
I had a fantastic 3 night stay at the retreat. Julie was lovely and explained everything about places to visit and eat. Cottage was so clean and welcoming, such a quiet relaxing village, just what I was in need of. Thank you julie for the bottle of Prosecco, enjoyed in the hot tub and the wonderful biscuits and cake too! Hopefully will be back soon
Lesley
