Caecrwn Reviews

Sharon
We arrived to a very warm welcome and lovely warm house too. The beds are super comfortable in each of the really well presented bedrooms. Very quiet first nights sleep and woke up to the most beautiful views. The large kitchen has everything you could possibly require and oh my goodness, the china provided is fab. We used the log burner most days, not because the living room needed extra heat but to feel really cosy when the weather was a little cold & wet. We used the hot tub and loved it, it is so warm! We all really enjoyed our stay and it was a pleasure to meet such a wonderful family who are there if you should need any advice. Thank you for a terrific stay.
Caroline
Had a wonderful stay at Caecrwn, plenty of room for us all, great to soak in the hot tub after a long hike. Such a lovely feel to the place and great for exploring the surrounding area. Amazing views from the cottage. Thank you Dave and Rose for such a memorable stay.
Elaine
Had a lovely week here . Had a very warm welcome . Everything you need and very comfortable . Hottub was amazing looking over the gorgeous views . Thankyou so much . See you next year x
Richard
Had a great stay at the cottage for a weekend in September. Great location and a lovely cottage all round hosts were very friendly and welcoming.
Michelle
The property is charming, and the views are stunning. The listing stated luxury and sadly that was not what we experienced. It had an overall appearance of being unloved, garden overgrown, plaster falling off in the kitchen above the doorway which frames the views. A duster would have gone a long way as the old cobwebs were covering the light fittings. The living room furniture needs replacing as the sofas are beyond their best offering no comfort or support . Bathrooms and bedrooms were clean. The spare room at the back desperately needs a new mattress as you could feel all the springs. Not very private also as the neighbour overlooks the property and is only literally 5 footsteps away and you have to enter their garden in order to get to the dog exercise small paddock. Sadly this property did not live up to the description or pictures
What a lovely part of Wales
Lovely, warm cottage with the most amazing views of the hills and the Brecon Beacons behind.
Our second stay at this lovely spacious well equipped cottage. The views from the patio across the paddocks and on to the Brecon Beacons are idyllic especially whilst sat in the hot tub watching the sun disappear over the hills. Good WiFi, Sky TV. Perfectly situated for exploring the area, the cottage has a good selection of books of walks. The nearby town of Brecon has supermarkets, range of shops and canal walk one way out of town and the other walk along the Promenade alongside the river to green open space. Ideal for the dog to have a good run around. So much to do and see in the area.
Lovely cottage in an ideal location. Was perfect for our hot tub & hikes weekend away!
A perfect stay! Everything we needed right down to the slow cooker, which wed forgotten to take our own. Facilities were absolutely unreal. So thought after. Massive attention to detail, beautifully decorated, Great signal, WiFi, tv & even an extensive amount of games & books should you want them. Hot tub just wonderful. Scenery absolutely breathtaking only sound heard was donkeys & birds. Perfectly peaceful with lots of wildlife to watch. We absolutely loved our week there to just purely relax and unwind and have family time with our dogs. Paddock was also a great surprise for the dogs aswell as the garden which they loved to play in. Could live in the house, fell in love instantly with the property. And a great location for bobbing around and the Brecon beacons
Valerie
Lovely cottage in a stunning rural setting. Very spacious. Unfortunately caught in Storm Darragh and cut off, BUT the owners couldnt have been more helpful in making sure we were ok.
Caroline
We had a lovely week at the cottage, with our two dogs. One is terrified of fireworks, and the cottage was rural and peaceful but easy to get out and about and made a good base, which is why we went this time of year over Bonfire night. Cottage had everything we needed in a beautiful setting. Dave and Rose were fab. Highly recommend, we intend to go back
Great place to stay. Host very friendly and helpful. Would recommend for family get togethers.
Richard
Stopped for a week with children and dogs. The owners are lovely people and very accommodating. The property is beautiful as is the surrounding area. Its very peaceful and relaxing and lots of nearby dog walks made it perfect for us to enjoy.
Nicola
We had such a lovely time. The cottage was immaculate and great views. We would have stayed longer if we could. Thank you so much. Only suggestions was maybe add a kids safety lock on the twin room window, but I appreciate not everyone comes with small children. Is there anyway a footpath could be made during times that the horses and sheep are in fields, as we didnt really want to drive anywhere, and limited to walk with dog.
Upon review I think giving this property a 4 star is generous however a 3 star would be considered a little harsh. As a staycation couple I would say that in general we were relatively underwhelmed by the property and the experience. We found that whilst the surrounding area was beautiful and the space that you had access to was a bonus, the price was not relative to the experience itself. Upon a 5pm check in which is quite late the cottage didnt feel ready, it had supposedly been cleaned before a late arrival however, the hot tub was green and smelled of stagnant water. There was a strong sour smell coming from the kitchen which we soon discovered to be a bowl of what could only be described as human vomit which was located in a bowl in the kitchen cupboard. I would advise, bringing your own condiments as there was no salt, pepper, sugar ect it is also worth bringing kitchen roll and toilet paper as minimal quantities of this are provided to guests with no replacements. For the overall price, we felt that you pay a lot for a quite limited, underwhelming and poorly equipped property. That being said, if you dont mind packing the car as if youre going camping, this property is perfect!!
Spent an amazing week at this lovely well equipped cottage in beautiful surroundings. Stunning views to wake up to across the Brecons. Lots of places to visit nearby, Waterfalls, the Brecons, Pen Y Fan, Rivers and Canal. Great for walkingcycling. Brecon town is nearby for supermarket shopping. Nice to relax to Hot tub and by the cosy log fire in the evenings. Enjoyed our stay so much we have booked to go again.
We had a amazing week . Highly recommended for a lovely quiet holiday. Cottage was beautiful very clean and everything u needed . Thankyou so much making us feel welcome . See u soon
Debbie
Lovely place so tranquil family were lovely and views beautiful
Me and my 5 friends spent great time at this place. Highly recommend!!! Warm, cosy, nice view. deal
The only thing I would say is the quilts on beds were extremely thin and therefore due to being winter was not warm enough also heating was not giving out heat in most of the rooms . The towel rails didnt work . We did enjoy our stay and the owners were extremely helpful and friendly Thank you
Trevor
What a beautiful cottage, me and my family had a lovely time here celebrating my 60th birthday. The cottage was lovely and clean inside, the king size bed was so comfortable always got a good nights sleep. The scenery from the hot tub was amazing, the owners were very helpful, would definitely recommend the usk and railway inn at Sennybridge for food it was excellent and the Aberglais pontsarn pub and restaurant food also excellent, Cardiff not to far away for a visit, would definitely recommend this property.
We really enjoyed our holiday in this lovely cottage, with stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Thank you for letting us stay. Tony, Helen, Jake, Tai and OscarThe dog.
Caecrwn is a wonderful barn conversion and it's in a serene location. The views are phenomenal and the quietness off the scale, exactly what we were looking for. It is as beautiful inside and had everything six adults and two dogs could have wanted. The owners are on site and were fab, nothing to much trouble. All who went would thoroughly recommend it and I would definitely book again. If you want peace and away from the world for a moment, in a place with all you needed, this is for you.
Beautiful cottage for a relaxing break, very roomy and comfortable. Lovely hot tub and views. Would recommend.

We love our stay caecrwn and would love to stay they again we have stayed in a few cottages over the years and this is by far one of the best the view from the patio is one you would never get bored of we where welcomed by the owners on arrival who where very friendly and helpful and through out our stay respected our privacy even while they worked on there farm we had a slight issue with the hot tub and after a chat with the owners it was rectified quickly and conveniently while we was out for the day this property has everything you need for a nice chilled relaxing stay
This is the second time weve visited the property over the last year or so & were really pleased we came back. The weather wasnt great to begin with but just sitting on the patio or in the kitchen enjoying the fantastic views of the fields, mountains, watching the clouds rolling across the sky, watching the sheep & the farmer cutting grass not to mention the horses, foal and one vey adorable donkey who my daughter just loved was fantastic, very relaxing & very quickly had us in full holiday mode. We brought our four dogs with us & are very grateful to the owners for allowing this as holiday destinations of this calibre that allow this number of pets are like gold dust. The owners are very friendly and easily findable whenever needed for all those things you inadvertently forget. We enjoyed our stay so much that we booked a return visit for November and are looking forward to experiencing such an idyllic holiday destination in the winter months.
We had a wonderful dog friendly stay at Caecrwn. Loved the views from the hot tub and its a great base from which to explore Brecon area and beyond.
Superb location with incredibly helpful and friendly owners. Cottage really well and thoughtfully equipped. Amazing views and brilliant enclosed area for the dog. A great place to get away and enjoy the beauty of the Brecon countryside. Hot tub was a treat with stunning views.
Absolutely wonderful, relaxing break, everything was perfect
Lovely welcome by the owner, great property overall very nice and clean just felt a little tlc needed in areas to make it outstanding.
Maggie
Set in beautiful countryside, quiet, comfortable and very enjoyable. Hope to visit again
Nicholas
This is probably the best cottage that we have rented for a holiday. Extremely comfy beds and very well equipped home. Good access to all 3 mountain ranges in the Brecon Beacons and links to local towns such as Merthyr and Abergavenny. Large hot tub and utility area were the icing on the cake. Very well equipped kitchen and good amount of storage in the bedrooms.

Been to this cottage before, lovely beautiful views, one downside is the beautiful hottub could do with overhead cover as it was raining and although warm & lovely bit miserable with rain on your head but all lovely other than that
Deborah
Lovely cottage in lovely surroundings. We loved using the hot tub, even in the rain. The owners were very friendly. Overall, fantastic holiday.
