Bryn Howell Stables Reviews

Elizabeth
We enjoyed our stay very much. The cottage is comfortable and situated in a good spot to take in scenic spots, walks and shopping nearby.
A lovely, peaceful location and very comfortable and spacious cottage. Ideally situated for a walking holiday into mid and North Wales without always having to drive to the starting point. The owners were very hospitable and friendly, even suggesting we could use their home grown produce from the garden whenever we wanted. An ideal place to relax and unwind.
We had such a fabulous week at Bryn Howell Stables the cottage is so comfortable and extremely well equipped with everything you could possibly need. We really appreciated the peace and tranquility of sitting out on the patio with stunning views. The location was perfect for shady dog walks along the neighbouring canal and easily accessible to local amenities. We had such a warm welcome from our hosts and would love to return for another relaxing break.
This was our fifth stay and we enjoyed it every bit as much as previous visits. The cottage is in such a lovely location with easy access to the canal for excellent walks along the towpath. It is so peaceful and relaxing. The cottage has everything you need to enjoy a nice break. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The homemade cake left as a welcome was delicious. We hope to return next year. Highly recommended.

This is a lovely cottage in a beautiful setting. We were greeted warmly by Nick who showed us around. The welcome cake was very welcome, more so for being homemade. We tend to eatin so we filled the modest freezer for the 2 of us. The WiFi is better upstairs than downstairs. The place is well equipped and furnished, with plenty of books & local information, and with little details that make it even nicer.
We had a fantastic time here. We took our canoe and kayaks and the property was a perfect location for it. The canal was right by the house, which meant we could just walk the boats. No need for a car! House was as described. We will be back.
This was our fourth visit to Bryn Howells and weve already booked our fifth! A lovely homely cottage with everything you need, including a delicious homemade cake on arrival. The self contained garden is ideal for pets and for enjoying sitting out enjoying a meal or just relaxing. The canal is on your doorstep giving lovely gentle walks with lots of other more strenuous walks available nearby if thats what you are looking for. Llangollen is only 10 mins away and is an excellent place to visit including a trip on the canal or steam railway. This time we visited the Corn mill in Llangollen and the Dog and Pickle in Lavister for meals out. Would highly recommend both.
Valerie
Wonderful stay at Bryn Howell Stables Certainly a home from home ,it had everything we could possibly need even a yummy home made victoria sandwich on our arrival. Perfect location for Mabel our 9 month old puppy ,a secure garden and great walks along the canal ,she loved it . We even walked to the Sun Trevor pub for some hearty meals .We'll definitely be booking again .
Wonderful, cosy cottage in a beautiful quiet location close to a canal. Comfortable beds, well equipped. Simply excellent.
Bryn Howell stables is a beautifully presented property. Its setting is idyllic right by the canal yet well away from any roads, so very peaceful. Great views from all windows and a lovely Victoria sponge cake to welcome us! Close to major attractions but ideal if its peace and quiet you need. I would highly recommend. Alan.
Great experience. Welcomed with a cake as well! Cottage lived up to all our expectations and our Silver Lab Asher loved the walks in the fields and into Llangollen. Cottage had everything we needed and there was a great dog friendly pub a few minutes away to save us having to cook. What more could you ask for? We will be going back again soon.
Lovely peaceful location beside the canal walkable to Llangollen and the poncyllite aquaduct . Cottage was spotless very comfortable and well equipped. Dog friendly and safe .delicious cake on arrival and very welcoming hosts
Geraldine
Bryn Howel is a fantastic place to stay, a real home from home with everything you need, the most relaxing holiday cottage I have stayed in. It is well situated on the Llangollen canal with lovely walks and an amazing view. Couldnt ask anything better from a holiday.
Samantha
The cottage is beautiful and cosy and the location for walking is fabulous, with all the amenities of Llangollen close by. So much to see and do in the area. Perfect.
I cant stop talking about this beautiful place. Everything was provided for us, even a lovely cake! The owners were very nice, the house was charming. The setting was stunning, with the canal just a few steps away. Great base to explore Llangollen and the surrounding area. Would love to go back one day. Magical!!
Penelope
This is the second time we have stayed here. It is the perfect area for walks and visiting places in North Wales and Chester. The hosts Celia and Nick are so friendly and are always a phone call away if you need help. Local places to eat too.
We had a wonderful stay at Bryn Howell Stables. The cottage was very well equipped and was very suited to two groups of family friends, which we were. Very peaceful location with wonderful views and it was great to be able to take our dog into the nearby field when the cows weren't there, Lots of places to visit and of course we had to hire a boat to go over the canal. Another added bonus was the local pub the Sun Trevor. Very good food and great hospitality. All in all a great holiday. Would thoroughly recommend. ps thanks for the delicious cake!!
Exceptionally appointed and privately located vacation home with everything you or your four legged companions could need to ensure a restful and enjoyable holiday in the Vale of Llangollen. Helpful owners, sympathetic yet modern stable conversation which easily accommodates up to six people comfortably.
Seriously better than most rental cottages. No hesitation in recommending this property. Perfect for walkers and dogs. Beautiful setting .
Sharon
This is a lovely property in a really pleasant setting. It is near enough to the main road to be handy to go anywhere, but there's only minimal noise. The canal is close enough for you to see boats but you are still very private. Owners live nearby so are there if you need them, but don't bother you. We were very comfortable here and it felt nice and safe.
The tranquility of the cottage is wonderful. Sitting outside watching the sunset drop into the hills whilst listening to the evening birdsong is a dream. A bench would have been the perfect spot from which to toast the amazing view at any time of day. Inside is equally beautiful, comfortable furnishings, beds with luxury bedding and all the amenities needed whilst on holiday. The very welcome addition of log provision for the full extent of our stay was indeed included in our rent! For us that was the first of our several Sykes Cottages stays to actually fulfil their claim of fuel included, so many only provide a Starter Pack which doesnt even last one evening! Then theres the log buying expedition. We three adults and my elderly dog spent very comfortable evenings in the warmth of the log fire, not least because the laminated printed instructions for the fire were well written and accurate. During the day a two mile walk along the town path to the Pontcysylite Aqueduct before breakfast suited one of us, another preferred the couple of tow path miles in the other direction to Llangollen as an afternoon walk. Me? Happy to dog sit, read, and encourage old man Border Terrier to stretch his legs as far as the tow path a mere few metres away! The Stables gave me the much needed calming down period following a bereavement. It was perfect to have my friends visit and look after me whilst my batteries recharged as well as the cottage being in the perfect spot to venture out and explore as and when we wished. Help from the very kind owners who live nearby was quickly organised when I stupidly managed to lock myself out in my pajamas without the keys or phone! One confused dog was left wondering how he was going to get his breakfast! I can thoroughly recommend Bryn Howell Stables to those who would appreciate its feeling of being a luxury sanctuary in the beauty of North Wales.
Michelle
Very warm, cosy and comfortable cottage with a well equipped kitchen. Once the stickyweather warped main gate is properly closed needs a bit of jiggling and brute force it's a great secure garden for keeping our elderly dog safe. Lovely, quiet location with direct access to gentle, easy walks along the canal. Watching the canal boats pass by is very entertaining. Would love to return in warmer weather to be able to throw open the patio doors, make full use of the garden and allow the dog to come and go as she pleases.
This was our third stay at the cottage, which says it all. It has everything you need for a really comfortable stay in a very secluded spot which is very close to Llangollen and lots of other places to visit. The canal is on your doorstep offering lovely easy short and longer walks whichever you want. There is a great log burner in the living room, supplementing the very efficient central heating, which is most welcoming on cold October evenings. The kitchen is well equipped with lovely views from the dining table. Three good size bedrooms and two spacious bathrooms complete the cottage. The garden is a great size for sitting out admiring the view, even in late October it was a nice sun trap. The dogs loved it and being so secluded it provided excellent star gazing opportunities. The owner lives nearby and is very helpful without ever being intrusive. A delicious homemade cake provided a nice welcome on our arrival.
Robert
A lovely cottage in beautiful, secluded, quiet surroundings. The cottage is very comfortable, clean and has everything you would need. Beds are comfy and bedrooms are spacious. Loads of space throughout the cottage, with a comfortable lounge and wellequipped kitchen. The garden is fully dogsafe with outstanding views. Although secluded, Llangollen is not far away and can be reached by walking along the adjacent canal or in the opposite direction, a short walk will take you to the Pontcysyllte aqueduct. Celia is a great host, friendly and helpful and never intrusive. Looking forward to returning again next year, Thank you.

Sharon
Lovely property in a great location. So peaceful. Great for walking along the canal but also getting around in the car.
Bryn Howell Stables is a lovely rural retreat. The conversion has been very sympathetically done and many of the features of the old stables have been retained. It feels very homely and livedin. It is ideally situated near the famous canal, only separated from it by a high hedge. It is a two mile walk along the canal towpath in one direction to Llangollen and a one and three quarter mile walk in the other direction to the famous aquaduct. The location is very quiet and secluded. You need to be aware that you have to travel a little way on a narrow, unpaved track to get to the property but we didnt find this a problem. The property is ideally situated to take advantage of all the walking and outdoor activities available in the area. I went canoeing across the aqueduct with Bearded Men Adventures which I would highly recommend. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Penelope
It was a perfect place for exploring North Wales and for walking along the canal. Such a comfortable place with everything we needed. It's the first time we have left a cottage and as soon as we got home booked to stay again next year
Hilary
Just the two of us and our excitable dog, Bran. This is one of the best cottages we have stayed in. Beautiful, comfortable, superbly equipped! The scenery is stunning and the walking was brilliant. We walked to Trevor 3 times and drankate at The Telford. On 3 days we went in the direction of Llangollen retail therapy, all the way to Horseshoe Falls and via the Sun Trevor we climbed up to Dinas Brn. Recommend the Wharf Cafe. Have plans to return and do it all over again
Robert
This is a lovely property very near the canal with a nice walk to either Chirk or Llangollen. It is very warm and has everything you need for a holiday.Top marks.
Charming cottage in an enviable position. It was extremely well equipped and comfortable. Although we stayed as a couple it was obviously spacious enough to accommodate up to six. The secure garden was ideal for our dog. The owners were unobtrusive but on hand if needed. Will seriously consider staying again

Kelsey
We really enjoyed our second stay in the cottage. The location is ideal if you want peace and quiet and enjoy walking. The property is fantastic for people with children and dogs. It was clean and comfortable and the house is lovely and warm. The owners did everything possible to give us a warm welcome and help when we needed it. If you cant live without reliable WiFi, this is probably not for you but for me, I enjoyed being able to switch off and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
Our family of 4 stayed at Bryan Howel for a week, and enjoyed every minute. The cottage is comfy, cosy, homely and very well equipped. It was a proper home from home, and had everything we needed plus more. The log burner was popular, with our girls collecting sticks for kindling each day. They also loved running about in the fields and exploring the land. The views are just stunning, we could happily watch them from dawn to dusk. Owners are kind and helpful, and homemade cake on arrival was much appreciated. The area is also fantastic. We hope to return in warmer weather to keep exploring and enjoying the outdoors.
We stayed at this cottage for a week and we enjoyed every moment. The cottage was very cosy, very well equipped, we had log burner every night. What is more, the surroundings are amazing! We had wonderful walks by the canal, explore the area and visited local pubs. We will akways come back and also recommend this cottage to our family and friends. Thank you to Nick and Celia
