Brock House Reviews

Philip
Beautiful and quiet location. Great view over the countryside. Everything you need for a relaxing stay. Nigel super helpful.
Richard
Thankyou for a wonderful stay at Brock House! We will miss the stunning views and the table football tournaments! We had a lovely break with our two girls. We enjoyed a walk around Cod Beck Reservoir, and a 10 mile hike from Great Ayton to Roseberry Topping via Captain Cook's monument. Lovely trip, to the coast at Saltburn and Seaham. Mount Grace Priory is beautiful for a halfday out. We had great meals at Soju by Sumo at Northallerton, and the Grayhound at Bagby. Such a perfect, peaceful location. Thanks to the Smiths, for being superb hosts, we would love to come back!
Lovely cottage and views. Very high standard of finish with quirky rustic features. Comfortable beds and powerful showers. Lots of places to visit nearby, but a delightful place to stay and chill.
Fabulous property. We stayed during a few freezing cold days at the start of the new year, but Brock House was warm, comfortable and inviting. Clean, well equipped, private, nice host, all in all pretty faultless. The table football proved a big hit too. Would definitely recommend.
Lindsey
Brock House is a lovely place to stay private, high quality, comfortable, warm and cosy. We found it very relaxing and it had everything you need for a proper, cosy break. Its also well located close to Thirsk and Northallerton, with lovely views over fields into the distance and, if the weather plays ball, great sunsets. I also really appreciated the large towels. If youre planning to use the hot tub, be prepared to need extra wood in winter the complimentary basket wasnt enough to heat the tub fully, so youll likely need to source more. Its also worth bringing your own kindlingnewspaper and firelighters there was only enough provided for one light. Once wed sorted the wood, we had a really lovely, relaxing stay.
The best UK rental property we've stayed in. A fantastic designed property set in a quiet location with views across fields from the living area. Everything had been carefully thought through to give this the wow factor. The wood fired hot tub was a nice finishing touch. Located within easy reach of the dales, the moors and York makes this a great location. Nigel the host was great and we look forward to returning.
Natalie
Absolutely stunning accommodation in a stunning location. We loved it, it was a great treat for us as part of our Polar express journey at Christmas.x
Nigel the host was very welcoming to us and made everything run as smoothly as possible. The property was amazing!! We went for New Years Eve and just felt so magical with the amazing view outside and personal touches inside the property. We will definitely be returning in the future and would recommend to anyone wanting time away in this country!
Michael
We stayed here for 3 night over the Christmas break. It is a great really well designed property. The owner is super helpful. We all loved it there, especially the monopoly every night. One of the best places we have stayed in for a while.
Carole
A fabulous place. The photos don't do Brock House justice. The owner was very welcoming and clearly has an eye for room design. Everything was also spotlessly clean. Great views and watching the sunset from the hot tub was marvelously relaxing. We wanted a week away somewhere that felt special and we got exactly that and more. We had great fun playing table soccer too. I suspect we will be back. A definite 1010 and a high recommend from me.
Andrea
Thanks Nigel for a fabulous stay. This place is lovely and the views great. Great location for days around North Yorkshire. We will be back, don't hesitate to book.
Hayley

This is our second visit this year. A peaceful location full of birdsong with views of the Pennines. The accommodation is spotless and is fitted out to an extremely high standard. The kitchen is particularly well equipped. The best accommodation we have stayed in in the UK. Very happy with everything and would highly recommend.

We had a wonderful holiday at Brock House. Perfect location. Accommodation was fabulous. Everything had been thought of. We loved the wood fired hot tub. Great fun! We would highly recommend this holiday home. Thank you for being an excellent host.
Danielle
The property and location were beautiful! My friends and I had the most wonderful weekend walking the trails and enjoying the scenery. We will be back again, thank you for the hospitality.
Fantastic holiday home in a beautiful spot. It sits on the hillside overlooking the valley facing west and the setting sun. Whilst the patio and outdoor seating is great, the bifold doors open up and brings the outdoors in. The kitchen is comprehensively kitted out with everything you could need and the whole place is thoughtfully done. We will definitely be back.
Stewart
Fantastic location, quiet with great views across the Vale of York to the Pennines and Great Whernside. Everything was immaculate, and the chairs and sofas were comfortable.
Brock House is a real gem of a property. 2 adults a 9 year old stayed here for 4 nights in May half term holiday. The place is lovely, really nice finish and luxury feel. Seems everything has been thought about. We used some tupperware that was there, everyday when we went out for the day. Nigel is a great host and is very approachable and helpful, especially with the hottub. We will be back.
Brock House is a fantastic property, finished to a high standard, it has beautiful views and is in a good location. There are some lovely walks close by.
A stylish, comfortable and well equipped property in a lovely location. We thoroughly enjoyed our week here.
Claire
Fantastic accommodation and location. Stunning property, fabulous views, very clean and well presented along with being very comfortable too. Lots of space to rest and relax. We loved our stay and enjoyed coffee each morning out on the patio watching the early morning haze fade and seeing the cows and sheep in the fields. We were spoilt with glorious weather every day too! I would highly recommend the accommodation and hope to visit again.
Christopher
Fantastic place, very relaxing holiday nice and peaceful but at the same time its only a short car journey back to civilisation. The pictures don't do it justice and the property is finished to a very high standard the owners have literally thought of every little detail. Well done Nigel & Jossa
