Barcud Cottage Reviews

Stella
We had an enjoyable stay at Barcud cottage. It was scrupulously clean and had lovely panoramic views. The owners were helpful and quick to respond to queries.
Duncan
We really enjoyed our stay here with our two young children and would book again if we return to the area in the future.
Jacqueline
This was our second visit to Barcud , its well equipped, clean and comfortable in a beautiful setting
Hilary Anne
Lovely cottage in a great location. The reference to the downstairs bathroom with walkin shower being good for those with reduced mobility could be a bit misleading. I have reduced mobility and balance issues and found the 5 step up into the shower, slippery floor and lack of grabhand rails in the shower quite difficult. The place was quite clean however, considering the many references to keeping it clean and 'leaving it as you found it' I discovered at the end of the week when cleaning up that the underside of kitchen sink plugs were brown with bacteria which I am sure had been that way at the start of our week also. When I wiped out the fridge and took out the shelves to wash them off, there was black mold around under the trim on the edges of the shelves which had certainly been there when we entered. I cleaned the plugs but left the fridge shelves 'as I found them'. This was not what I expected to find and I left messages for the owner to point these things out. I did not expect to have to do a deep clean at the start of our holiday. The beds were comfortable and the bed linen clean and fresh. We were too hot with the quilt provided and there was no alternative available so we ended up taking the quilt cover off and using that as a 'top sheet' with a throw over the top. The owners did try to find a thinner pillow for our daughter though.
Geweldig mooi huisje, prachtig uitzicht. Gemoedelijk, makkelijk inchecken.
Sophie
Fabulous stay at Barcud Cottage, in a peaceful, beautiful location. The cottage had everything you could possibly need . The communal seating area outside was lovely for drinks & a BBQ. One small negative but would not stop us staying here again is , the sofa is a bit small for 4 adults! Everything else was perfect thankyou for a great stay! Would highly recommend!

Elizabeth
Well equipped, comfortable and in a beautiful location. Lovely welcome gifts and all information provided.
Allison
Barcud Cottage is very comfortable and well equipped, in a quiet and peaceful location, its the perfect place to switch off and relax. The ground floor bedroom had a very comfortable bed, ideal at the end of a day walking on the beach and a spacious ensuite bathroom. The owners have thought of everything, from providing dog beds and blankets to something as simple as a good range of cleaning materials and clingfilm! And the onsite laundry came in handy after getting caught in the rain. The communal gardens are well kept and spacious, none of the cottages overlook each other and the dog exercise field was enjoyed by our two dogs.
Jackie

Great accommodation, with everything including all the small details considered. Comfortable bed, well equipped kitchen, separate laundry facilities plus lovely views from the property including the lounge and kitchen. Well situated for exploring Carmarthenshire including west Brecon Beacons, The Gower, Cardigan Bay and Tenby. The local town of Llandeilo was delightful. Owners available if needed. Would highly recommend.

Exceedingly good hosts who were friendly but didn't intrude Cottage was very ... Exceedingly good hosts who were friendly but didn't intrude Cottage was very comfortable and well equipped Beautiful area with a great many things to do Would highly recommend to anyone wishing for peace and quiet
Darren
Me my partner and dog had a fantastic stay here for a week. Beautiful property, stunning location over looking the lovely countryside for miles. Lovely couple who own the whole premises. Can't wait to return in the near future. Many thanks!
Rhiannon
Beautiful cottage in a stunning location. Very comfortable with everything we needed. A perfect spot for visiting fantastic places in Wales. We had a great break and the hosts couldnt have been more welcoming and helpful.
The only negative was Sat Navs try to take you into a field for the post code, but the information provided, plus available contact details of the owners meant that cottage was straightforward to find. The location is very quiet and isolated with a drive to the nearest grocery shops, but that was what we expected. It is within an hour's drive of many places to visit including the Beacons and the coast, plus many many castles. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful and made our stay a very enjoyable one, even when housebound due to some wild weather. Everything about the cottage was perfect as it was very clean and tidy and fully equipped for all our needs.
