Pitt Cottage Reviews

Mohammed
A very traditional cosy little cottage, spent 3 nights there, with 4 kids and 3 other adults, had a good time.
Lucy
I stayed at Pitt Cottage with a group of friends and we had the most wonderful time. Itâ??s a super cute cottage and very well equipped. The small touches like milk, biscuits and fudge on arrival were hugely appreciated. The cottage is spacious and the bedrooms are very comfortable. Would definitely recommend this cottage.
Donald
Central heating did not work until our third day, large sofa very low to ground and difficult to get up from if you are old. Aga was good, garden good, upstairs good.
Emma
Thank you for a wonderful stay. The cottage was perfect and had everything we needed for our weekend stay. Location was fantastic, so close to the beach and quiet and peaceful around. I honestly could not rate this high enough, we had the best weekend in Pitts cottage
Anthea
Lovely traditional compact cottage with a beautifully designed interior. Very clean, lots of hot water, warm. Not suitable for anyone with slight mobility/balance issues due to steep staircase and slanted upstairs floor, also uneven stone steps up from road. But charming if you are fine with that. Secure garden for dog. The parking arrangements as described, and driving around here generally, is challenging for the nervous driver but par for the course around here. Great walks all around, can walk to Branksome Beach in around 40 mins - easier than driving!!
Margaret
A beautiful cottage with everything you could need for a comfortable stay.
Brian
We loved the cottage. The loaction is wonderful. Other guests have mentioned the parking being a couple of hundred yards away, but that wasnl;t a problem for us - and it was easy to park two cars there. Some great walks from the cottage. The Fontainhead pub (really close) is very welcoming and does v good basic food. Masons Arms a but more upmarket, but not as good value.
Jeremy
A lovely holiday cottage without a doubt but things like no rinse aid and salt provided for the dishwasher is a false economy. A teapot would have been nice and a few basics in the food cupboard. - salt, pepper, oil etc. Overall a lovely place to stay but for very little extra cost these extra things would be much appreciated.
Deborah
The cottage is lovely and in a great location for the local pub and a walks to the breach. However, property was not very clean when we arrived. Previous occupants had left food in the fridge, not cleaned the fire out and had not collected their dog poo in the garden. Also there were no logs for the fire as advertised. Parking is a nightmare and the suggested place to park was not suitable for larger SUV type vehicles as the local bus can not get past. The Customer Service team did try to resolve our issues and were helpful.
Michael
A lovely old cottage in a beautiful area. We were lucky with the weather and the enclosed, sheltered garden was a very pleasant place in which to enjoy in the afternoon sun - for us and the dog. The bedrooms are on the small side, but our bed was very comfortable. Note the stairs are steep, the ceilings and beams low, and the landing is uneven - but these all add to the charm. The only drawback was the parking, which is by the side of the road, away from the cottage - don't come in a very large vehicle!
Martin
We arrived at the cottage excited for our stay the village was so pretty and walkable to the beach.
Ravi
Great location, nice pubs nearby. Good cottage inside.
Ebony
Overall very good. Itâ??s very picturesque and we liked the location as it was quiet but accessible to other larger towns. Also we didnâ??t see anywhere that dogs arenâ??t allowed upstairs prior to booking which was a bit annoying considering itâ??s a dog friendly cottage. Donâ??t think weâ??d stay again because of it but it didnâ??t ruin the stay as the location and decor of the cottage was still great.
Ben
The space of the cottage is great, the finish is to a good standard. Be aware though, it is an old cottage and if youâ??re over 6â? you wonâ??t be able to stand up downstairs.
Sarah
Lovely cosy and comfortable cottage. Loved walking to the beach, coast path and pub from the door. Enjoyed cooking on the Aga. Just a shame that no parking available outside the property
Kirsty
Pitt Cottage is a lovely property and overall was as expected. Itâ??s quite cosy for 8 people, but more than sufficient. The Aga kept it lovely and warm, although cooking on it for the inexperienced was a learning curve! The cottage was clean, tidy and well appointed, although a few expected necessities were limited (toilet roll, hand soap and candles for the power cut we had in the last day!) but if you are well prepared, then not a problem. The location was lovely, Branscombe is very picturesque, even in the wind and rain. I would say one pub was walking distance, the other definitely not at night time in December. All in all, we had a fabulous time!
